Exceptional hotel, Amazing Owner,Gorgeous location”
I can't say enough about what a wonderful hotel The Blue Parrot Beach Resort was...especially for the money. The owner, Connor, is a wonderful fluent English speaking man who will help you with absolutely everything and anything you need. He knows the island like the back of his hand. He can get you moped rentals for dirt cheap, give you exact directions to EVERYWHERE, and wonderful suggestions for tourism and locals vibe spots alike. My wife and I were a 24 and 26 year old 2 female couple on our honeymoon and Connor gave us as a gift, the best room in the place without us even asking. The rooms are massive and very very clean. The hotel is literally on the sand at Bon Tai beach which gorgeous views. The rooms have sliding glass windows too. Our room's air conditioning and hot water worked perfectly. The wifi is no longer something you have to pay for as some reviews have mentioned and he reception was great for it. The bar and restaurant were nice with decent prices and hammocks and comfy seating over-looking the ocean with a free pool table too. The location is close to the pier and about 15 minutes songtheaw ride from the Full Moon Party. What is so nice about the location is that it is a quiet hotel compared to the other budget hotels during that time, yet still a cheap and easy ride by taxi to the party. About 100 baht per person each way. They also have a safe to keep your valuables in at reception which we had zero issues with. The only somewhat negatives are the mattress hardness (which is common in Phangan)and the beach isn't really swimmable this time of year (MAY) but the view is great and swimmable beaches are very accessible...you can't beat the quality for the price, and Connor is the best receptionist and hotel owner I have ever met in Thailand. Thank you for a wonderful time for Megan and Fallon's honeyoon on a budget! You far exceeded our expectations and made us feel at home....oh yeah, and buy a pizza people! They are fabulous :-)

Fantastic Hotel”
The Blue Parrot beach resort was an absolute gem, we originally booked 5 nights over Christmas but loved it that much that we decided to stay another 5 nights for new year. The staff were all so friendly and the owners were both lovely and always helpful.The rooms were brilliant and clean and we had no problems at all. The beach was right on the front of the hotel and it was lovely, you could also use the swimming pool next door for free! I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Koh Phangan, its away from all the bars but easy to get to Hadrin and the town is a 20 minute walk with a great cheap food market! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would like to thank the owner Connor and his staff for making it so enjoyable!

Wonderful resort for a cheap price”
We really enjoyed our stay. The bungalow was clean and nice, it can get really hot during the day so if you plan on spending much time in the bungalow, you should get A/C. The staff was really friendly and the owner very helpful! He answered all of our questions. The food in the restaurant was great! And the terrace itself with the beach view was great for relaxing. We also liked the location, you can walk to Tongsala and a must-go is the Pantipmarket food market! The food is fantastic and really cheap if you're on a tight budget. The wi-fi was ok. We payed only 10baht for two days, but it didn't really work in the room, so we had to go to the restaurant. The beach was ok, too. It's not the cleanest or the prettiest beach in Koh Phangan, but it's decent. I strongly advise to go visit Bottle Beach, Haad Salad and Haad Yao beaches. They're amazing!

Amazing!”
Loved the blue parrot! Welcoming and very friendly staff, cheap and high standard food and rooms. The location is perfect, right on the beach and cheap taxis to everywhere on the island worth seeing. There is a pool around 100yards away which can be used free of charge. The rooms are clean, comfy and very affordable. Cannot reccomend this hotel highly enough, suitable for all types of travellers.

Awesome location and splendid beach area”
Both Connor & his wife Mam will ensure you have the best holiday to yourself and leave all the worries to them. You can leave all your valuables with them 100% safe and explore Koh Phangan without any worries. I left all my belongings with him as we set off to party whole night Full Moon. Connor ensures that you get everything that you need. He promised a mobike to be arranged at 150 baht a day when the whole town was hiring it at 200+. Clean and hygienic rooms and shower, lovely manicured garden where I could see Connor watering the plants every morning himself. And yes, do not miss out the lovely friendly Best Friends (doggies)at the resort.

Good place to start on the island ”
We booked a basic garden room with fan via agoda. Comfy beds and pillows Nice bar area Cheap beer Leo 50b at happy hour. Food a little pricey but a nice view. Beach a bit seaweed strewn but nice to walk along. Could do with black out curtains as sunlight wakes you up at 6am. Full sun on the room all day so it's boiling hot when you come home, pay extra to get air con room if available. Good shower but cold water (room M) Cheap laundry nearby 35b a kilo You have to Pay for wifi in your room but its only 10b a day (weak signal only 2bars) painfully slow and you must sign in every time which is a pain. Good location for the sat night market in thong sala walking street, ten min walk A decent base to go exploring if you want a good nights sleep - but only if you hire a moped otherwise choose a different resort with more amenities at hand.

Ideal for all types of Travellers”
I would recommend The Blue Parrot for a number of reasons. One being that it’s really cheap, I would recommend getting an Air Conditioning room if possible, however the Fan rooms aren’t terrible. Two, it’s close enough to everything but far enough away as well. By this I mean, it’s like a 5 minute Walk to a food Court and loads of bars near by. it is about 20 minutes from the Full Moon Party, however the Hotel will arrange transport for you to the Full Moon Party which cost 100THB Per Person. It takes about 5/10 minutes to get to this place from when you get off the boat. DO NOT PAY FOR A TAXI PRIOR TO ARRIVING AT THONG SALA PIER AS YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF. There’s loads of Taxi’s to catch from the pier. Lastly, I would recommend getting a moped as you’re able to see the whole island, but mainly because you have to go to the “PANTIP MARKET” which is right by Thong Sala Pier.

Decent for a SHORT stay. ”
This was my second time visiting Koh Phangan and I was very disappointed. The hotel's benefits - amazing home cooked pizza, lovely local staff, beautiful beachfront property The bad. Okay, so every single review I had read RAVED about that owner at Blue Parrot. He did not say more than one word to us, other than arguing his justification for us paying for AC despite there being TWO power outages. In the end, we were given a messily 200B off of our total bill. Literally a good chunk of 2 out of 4 days we were here there was no power - yet the AC charge was an extra 300B per day. We loved chatting with the local staff, they were polite and helpful. We very rarely complain about our hotel stays (as Canadians we try to uphold our polite and courteous reputations) but I really felt the owner did not care about his customers at all. At one point I heard another couple complaining about the power outage and wanting compensation - in response I then heard the owner respond, "Well I didn't have power either, I'm not making money. How was I suppose to make money if there's no power?" Uh. Well. Weren't you making money off of us staying there in the first place and still charging us a wifi fee? Please note - this was the only hotel with their power out, we went next door to get ready for the full moon party. Getting ready in the dark was hardly fun. Overall, not impressed. PS. I know this is Thailand - but a total of 9 cockroaches in our room in one night is a little much. Cover your shower drains with the extra garbage can.

Good value for money, best homemade pizza ever!”
Nice resort, the beach is not the best in koh phangan but the staff will help you to rent a scooter. The rooms are pretty basic ( as you can see in the pictures) therefore they are clean. The restaurant offers homemade pizza, which is reaaaaallly good - it a bit pricy but way from overpriced

Fun and relaxing”
Came for full moon party. Arrived quite late, which was no problem, kitchen was still open. Very easy to organise taxi's from hotel to go to a party. Food was excellent, both the thai kitchen and the pizzas. The restaurant/bar was right on the beach, which had various other resorts and bars stretched along it. However, it's not at all loud or a party beach. For full moon, taxi's were organised for all hotel clients. Overall, owner and his staff were fantastic, with great food and very comfortable rooms.

Great Hotel with Beautiful Views of the Beach”
Our stay in this hotel was the most enjoyable of our Holiday which is mainly thanks to the owner, an Irish man called Conor, who is very helpful and friendly. The hotel boasts a large combined restaurant/bar/decked area which is perfect for relaxing/lazing around and taking in the beautiful views of the beach; and at night time is quite busy with people coming in from nearby hotels for the atmosphere and great food. For those heading to a Full Moon Party, the hotel is perfectly located next to Thongsala and Haad Rin is only a 15 minute trip in the back of a taxi, which the hotel will oranganise for you.

Friendly staff, amazing pizza, comfortable room”
generally a good spot, the bed in the A/C room was very uncomfortable, but the room was clean and the A/C worked very well. The food, especially the pizza, was top notch. staff were very helpful and personable. would consider this more of a guesthouse than a hotel/resort as there is no pool or additional amenities aside from the restaurant

VERY HOT ROOMS”
about 5 mins from the pier. We were greeted by friendly staff & shown to our room which was 2 back from the beach. The room was open when we arrived so it was like a hot box when we walked in & the air conditioning could not work for the first 12 hours or so. It was almost unbearable. The room was all concrete, quite a neat concept & no furniture as moulded concrete dresser, wardrobe & bedsides as well as bed plynth. No fridge & no TV, fridge I think is a must as the place was so hot but no chance of a cold drink unless you purchased it from the bar which was quite pricey. The room was fairly clean on the surface but behind the bathroom door was filthy. The staff lazed around in the hammocks all day but we noticed there was plenty to do as the place was getting a little untidy until the owner came home from Bangkok & did the lawns the day we left. The driveway was bad & in need of attention as first impressions are a big thing. We came home one night & dogs wouldn't let us into the property so just as well the manager was still there to get the dogs away. Not a good look for a hotel. Blue Parrot could be a lovely place with just a few little touches, one being a fridge, maybe prices a little more reasonable for food & drinks. TV is not a problem as there is one at the restaurant along with a pool table, lovely deck & cushions to sunbathe & relax & hammocks when they are not in use by the staff.

Had a great stay here. Ideal place to chill out in pre Full Moon party. On a lovely small beach, nice area, lots of shops, restaurants around. Good party resort next door. Chilled vibe here, good food, lovely helpful staff, tv with lots of movies & comfy bean bags for chilled out days. Need to get an air con room, other rooms damp.

Good Location Close to Pier”
I stayed here 2 nights before i left the island so it was very close to Pier for boats and also Tongsala to do some last minute shopping. The place is clean and on a good location on the beach. Good sunsets and ok to swim at high tide. The fan rooms can get hot during the day but are ok at night. Best to get an AC room if you need to day sleep.

i can't really fault this hotel. the owner was very friendly, the room was clean, although very hot as we had a fan room. the resturant is on the beach and always smelled delicious but was a bit pricey for our backpacker budget. it's quite a good location. it's near to the pier and thongsala which is the main town of koh phangnan, lots of food stalls at night, very cheap. it's also not very far from baan tai where the half moon and jungle experience is.

Nice cabins”
The cabins are clean and comfortable and the compound is well kept. The staff are friendly but the cabins faxe wachothwr , not the ocean and the food is too pricey. All in all, a good choice but The Beach Villiage Reaort next door has a variety of priced rooms and a pool as well and they rent bikes! Both were good.
