A littl gem”
This is the second time we have stayed at the venue and have eaten on numerous occasions. Highly recommend a visit. Staff couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. Agoda didn’t book us in at all but this was no issue and was quickly resolved. Fab location for a night away with lots of pubs/bars to visit or just stay at the venue and enjoy the pretty gardens or court yard. Rooms clean and tidy. Bed extremely comfortable.

A Saturday night in Ruddington”
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was nicely decorated and perfectly sufficient for a one night stay. The bathroom was of a good size and it was nice to have a bath. However, it would have been nice to have some new, individual bottles of shower gel/handwash rather than large dispensers which had obviously been used before. There was no shampoo which was disappointing. all the other facilities in the room were good and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. The hotel is a very attractive building and the gardens are well cared for and pleasant. The interior however is shabby in places and needs some attention. Overall a good experience, although £91 for the night seemed rather expensive. Would stay again.

Visiting family”
Ideally located for us as we were visiting family who live just down the road. Comfortable beds and good breakfast . Some parts of the hotel seem a little 'tired' but the new owners have only been there a few months and have already started upgrading. The staff were all lovely, extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. We will defiantly stay again.

Excellent”
Our ground floor room opened onto a garden a very pleasant aspect. It was clean and had a small lounge, the shower was particularly strong and hot. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The overall layout of several separate buildings seemed a bit odd at first, but it grew on us, quirky but in a good way.

Great location and good facilitiies”
We were visiting family in the area and needed a convenient location for accommodation for the weekend. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Whilst our room was small it was very well decorated, bright and clean. Breakfasts were appetising and plentiful. Good parking.

Not the best experience”
Very small room above the kitchen and extremely hot. Tower fan provided by the bed was broken and worked intermittently. The acrylic mattress protector had been melted presumably by having been placed in a tumble-dryer. We had to remove this before sleeping due to extreme discomfort caused by the melted plastic. Unfortunately this revealed the mattress below. Someone had clearly "leaked" all over it and had left a sizeable tide-mark in the middle of the bed. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco but were served with a bottle of "Chenet" sparkling wine which is widely available for circa £5 per bottle however we were still charged £17.95 !! Even though there were still people taking dinner I was declined a request for a cheese board at 9.20pm. They stop serving food at 9pm. Clearly they don't need to make money on food when charging such prices for cheap sparking wine. Maybe we were just in a bad mood given the fact we were staying over to attend a funeral the following day....or not. Decide for yourselves.

Overpriced. Breakfast was basic.”
Whilst this is a quirky building, I don't think it was worth the price. The heating couldn't be turned down/off in the room and we woke up at 3am boiling! There was a smell of sewers and drains coming from the bathroom. Thankfully it seemed to disappear eventually. There were no veggie sausages and no dairy free milk options. Everywhere I have ever stayed try normally have veggie sausages upon request. Generally disappointing experience.

Uninspiring”
Our room was small, neat but the ensuite bathroom was damp and very smelly.

Awful ”
Huge disappointment, room smelt of damp and very dirty. Pillows unusable and fillled with small foam pieces. Very dated and needs a complete revamp. I would absolutely avoid.
