Value for money”
This was the best holiday we have had in many years. Central Cottage Resort is in the middle of the most beautiful stretch of beach in Tong Nai Pan Yai. This is a family-run resort and as I understood it, the family is from Burma. They were very friendly and went out of their way to make sure that we enjoyed our stay there. We stayed in a poolside room, which was quite adequate. The beds were comfortable and air conditioner worked fine. Refrigerator and TV with only Thai programmes in room. The bathroom had a shower with no walls, toilet and basin. The resort has an infinity pool that goes right up to the beach with beach chairs to sleep your days away on in the sun. Lockers at reception to lock away valuables. WiFi and internet service also available. The resort also provides for transport from and to the ferry terminal at Thong Sala and the full moon and half moon parties at a nominal fee. Motorbike hire also available. The beach front restaurant offers a very broad menu with some of the best hamburgers I have ever tasted. From 7pm to 10pm every evening, they also offered a barbeque with steak, chicken, a variety of fresh fish, langoustines and prawns. On New Years Eve, we were treated to a stunning buffet. Breakfast (included in our room rate) consisted of fruit and yoghurt, cereals, bacon, eggs, toast, coffee and tea. Central Cottage Resort is flanked by the Yai bar to the left and Flip Flop bar to the right. Both bars have their own distinctive styles and offer good food and late night snacks. Many Thai massage parlours available on the beach. Central Cottage is an established resort and does look a bit more rustic than on its website photographs. However, for what we paid, including breakfast, I must say we really got value for our money and I’ll recommend Central Cottage anytime. I am also planning to stay there again.

Nice location at the middle of the beach”
a nice place that i extended my stay at a couple of times because it was located on a nice, sandy beach. the beach good for swimming, calm and peaceful overall impression. the bungalow i stayed at was clean and had all the convenienses i asked for. a small porch to sit and watch the ocean at in the evening, perfect bed, big fridge, tv and air con. the small pool is located only 50 meters from the ocean and got sunbeds to relax in. the room price was ”normal” but i think the prices generally has got to high at hotels with this standard. when i go to thailand i want to stay for at least four weeks but it is impossible nowdays due to increasing prices. it seems thailand more and more is for ”short stayers”, around two weeks. the restaurang was okay but as often the staff is a bit uninterested and the prices is to high. the breakfast (included) was very good with yoghurt, musli, fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, pancakes, coffea and so on. for lunch and dinner i would recomend to take a two minutes walk and find better and cheaper restaurant at the main street, not many however. better is to rent a bike (at the hotel) and go five minutes to pan yai that got more restaurants and with good prices. i also have to give credit to the female manager who was very helpful and service minded. she always had the thai smile on her face and was doing everything at the place. i wish rest of the staff had the same easy going, but still professional, attitude. i would go back there in future, if i could afford it.

Awesome location for a great hotel”
We stayed here over three days, one of which the full moon party was on. Although it's quite a way away from the Haad Rin (full moon party beach) it's an amazing location. It's very easy to forget that there is a party at the other end of the island with anywhere between 10,000 to 20,000 people. The hotel organised a taxi (200baht per person, each way) which went at 7.00pm, 8.30pm and 10.00pm and returned at 2am and 4am so it's easy enough to get there and back if you wanted to. The beach is beautiful and fairly quiet even though it has several hotels/resorts on it. We had a really good poolside room that was the closest to the beach without being on the beach. It was clean and tidy with air conditioning. The bathroom was tidy enough but was a wet room (toilet, shower, vanity all in one small space) which I'm not a fan of because everything gets wet. In saying that, this is Thailand, those bathrooms are everywhere and it was pretty much dry in a few hours. Considering the water was piping hot, the location is fantastic and everything else was great, the layout of the bathroom is a very small price to pay.

Very nice resort”
Now we are seriously confused about it. We found a very nice, clean, comfortable resort with a very attentive and friendly staff. The restaurant located in the resort offer delicious food. The included breakfast was more than we could expect for this price. Every evening they did a barbecue. The menu had good choices for vegetarians like me.

Perefect location - attentive staff”
we arrived 7pm and the resort was quiet but that didnt stop the warm welcome and the fact they new we were coming - got a nice upper level room so our view in the morning was lovely - overlooking the beach and sea - the balcony was great size and we had a 3/4 sized bed and 1 small so would return with gf daughter next visit no problem, they provided first class taxi service to the ferry when requested and cheaper than the farry terminal service

Nothing good to say about this place apart from its fantastic location . Very poor service , way over priced , terrible restaurant , I waited 25 mins for toast and jam . Thong nai pan yai is a great beach location to chill out , but The four resort , formerly Central cottages is poorly run and maintained , try elsewhere at least you may get a smile .

Very nice hotel but not as good as the photos”
a lovely stay, the beach is wonderful, with a vibrant feel that does not affect your relaxing. the hotel can get busy during the lunch time as is popular with most island tours it seemed. but rightly so as the food was of a good standard. breakfast was a real winner. staff are all very friendly and helpful. the hotel has become slightly run down since the photos have been taken, so it is a bit more rustic than you might think however it is still good.

Nice spot, waiting for the people”
Nice place, although not all the folk working there seemed happy. Right after checking in one angry guy came up asking if we were staying there. Fair enough I guess, but there are nice ways to do that (like asking the checkin person - only about 4 rooms occupied). Cleaners were cool if 'enter-with-no-knock' type. Walk-in got shown to a not-so-nice hut out the back, Agoda options were better! I'd stay there again though, not bad value, great location, price was ok.

The location of this Resort is perfect for relaxing and getting away from the "noisy" and crowded part of the island. Rooms are clean and food is good, but the staff is not at the level expected.

Lovely resort with a nice pool and great restauran”
Nice quiet resort away from the craziness of Haad Rin. Taxi boat avalivable for transport to and from the full moon party for baht each way. Free breakfast buffet and great Thai food on site. Close to other restaurants and hotels. Some nightlife but not much.

Great location but poor rooms”
we'd read the earlier bad reviews but had already booked this place for a couple of nights. the location is absolutely beautiful, it was literally a 10 second walk and we were on the beach. we arrived there in may, so the beach was virtually deserted. the staff there were a little unresponsive when we checked in and the room was badly decorated and i need of livening up a little bit, to say the least it looked a little bit worn. there was a mini bar price list but the fridge was empty. it's the only place where we went within a whole month of travelling that we took all our valuables and passports with us web we went out as there was no safe in the room. all in all we enjoyed it, but mostly due to the amazing location, and the flip flip bar just a walk down the beach where we were made to feel very welcome

A little bit of heaven”
We were booked in for 3 nights, but planned a 2 week stay on the island, have a look at all options when we got there. We were so happy and comfortable at Central that we just booked our remaining 9 nights there. Plenty of options along the beach but Central has everything you'll need and experienced staff who work away diligently in the background, just how we like it.

Nice atmosphere, but the room could be better”
the hotel have a transfer service from pier to hotel. the staff are nice and the hotel overall is okay. price paid for a deluxe is okay according to the size of the room, but the accommodation could be better than what actually is. some concerns: i booked two rooms and one of them have one double bed, the other one has two double bed.

Bohemian beach paradise”
Coolest barmen in the world. The barmen get there early arvo and just hang out with you playing soccer pool frisbe and fire twirling when the sun goes down, plus they get drunk with you. So you dont even need to know anyone else. Its really relaxed there too after a few days when i got to know them i was pouring my own drinks.... Highly recommend

Great location. Terrible hotel.”
The hotel was a mess. When we first arrived reception had no record of our booking. The room was terribly maintained, poorly painted, and basically a waste of money. The bathroom was literally a nightmare in poor design. The place was just above camping. In fact we stayed outside most of the time to avoid the place, and we are the type of travelers who can deal with just about anything. This is not a "resort". This is a collection of poorly maintained huts with a high price tag.

Overpriced ”
We booked it over Internet. And arrived to a overpriced! First the couldn't find our booking, then it was some problems with that. We got a very small and dark bungalow that has seen its best days like ten years ago. The aircon didn't work, but it wasn't to easy to change. They wanted us to wait to the next day. we didn't agree. The cleaning was bad, and not everyday. The service was bad. The pool was dirty. When we were supposed to leave we checked the time for taxi the day before. When we came 10 min before it was supposed to leave it already had left.. What!!! We had to go to the boat and couldn't wait for it to come back. So, we had to hire a more expensive private taxi. No, this place was worth like 1/5 of the price we payed. Then it could have been worth it! But a three star resort, it's not! More fitting name is the old one, Central cottage.

Very disappointing ”
Myself and several friends decided to stay at this resort a few nights ago. And we had a pretty horrendous experience and would not recommend. Firstly the hotel seems abandoned run down and scruffy. When we arrived there was no knowledge of our booking at it took several hours for them to resolve the issue and finally show us to our room. Our first room was a bungalow it was filthy and everything in the wrong was old and seemed to be broken, door handles fridge, TV ect. After some Complaining we were moved to another room. This room was better and much cleaner however the water pump wasn't working so we where unable to shower or even flush the toilet. Once again complaining to reception we where told that we could use the pool outside shower.. This was rather shocking but we didn't have any other choice so myself my travelling companion and other holiday makers had to use this one shower. Our whole experience of this hotel was very bad/ however the one man that that seemed to be the only guy working there really did try his best. But sadly this hotel needs knocking down and re doing I would not advise booking this resort until some serious investment has been made

Perfect Place to Chill Out”
Nice Place to chill out and relax but can upgrade on services. Beach is very beautiful and quiet area by swimming pool, however roads leading up to resort must be improved.
