Situated in the centre of Whitby, The George Hotel has a lively bar with Sky Sports and BT Sport on large screens and several entertainment nights per week. Guests can enjoy free Wi-Fi in public areas and all rooms. Rooms at The George Hotel are decorated in bright, warm tones. Many come with en-suite bathrooms and all feature a flat-screen TV. hair dryer and tea/coffee-making facilities. The hotel bar serves a selection of wines and spirits as well as draught ales and fresh ground coffee. A carvery is served every Sunday. In the morning, guests get a breakfast, including hot breakfast items, cereals, toast, juice, tea and coffee. Less than a minute’s walk from the Whitby Tourist Information Centre and Whitby Railway Station, The George is within easy walking distance of Whitby’s shops and museums. Excellent location”

My husband and I had our anniversary and booked for 2 nights and 3 days in advance. The location is excellent as it was just across the bus station, next to several shops and attraction. Highly recommended for people who wants to hang out and spend their weekend for relaxation. :)

Lovely hotel”

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the George hotel. Lovely staff, room was great and so was breakfast. We did stay with our three year old daughter (we now understand they don't usually take children as they are a live entertainment venue) the noise from said entertainment didn't bother her or us but understand it may bother others. We can't fault the hotel at all or its staff they are fantastic

We had a great stay at the George, friendly helpful staff, lovely hot buffet breakfast, with cerials and toast to start, bacon eggs hash brows, baked beans, sausages even black pudding with fruit juice and bottomless, coffee and teas. Will stay again.

The George, Whitby”

The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly. You may struggle is you have mobility problems because there are an awful lot of stairs to climb particularly if your room is on the top floors. The location is excellent and the breakfast is very nice too
