Gorgeous as always”
Visited the Houben a number of times and got to know the previous owners well, the new owner Eric is just as lovely, really makes the effort with his guests and makes you feel exceptionally welcome and at home. The hotel itself is set on a perfect cliff where the sun sets in the middle of the view every night. The staff are attentive but not too much, the food is gorgeous, plenty to eat at breakfast. The rooms are well looked after and in perfect condition. Best bar on the island is a 2 minute walk down the hill to the right (Why Not Bar) where they do the best fire shows I’ve seen in Thailand and the best vibe, can’t recommend enough!5*

A bit aged but still great value”
Great staff, Erik is a very helpful manager. Location is close to 10 different restaurants, 7-eleven, beach. Rooms are huge. Also south of island is more beautiful than other parts. View from balcony is nice. Breakfasts are good. Photos do not show real scale of room and buildings. Trips can be booked directly there with a 100-200 baht margin, scooter rentals for 350 bht/day.

absolutely love this place... the view here is to die for. very quiet and lovely on a cliff with one of the most gorgeous locations for sunsets in the world I would think... iconic blood red swimming pool and lovely rooms. if I ever did come back to ko Lanta, would definitely stay here.

Attentive and accommodating staff, especially around breakfast time which incidentally, was exceptional for quality and good for selection. The monkeys rate the breakfast just as highly. The room we had was very clean and comfortable and you will feel valued by the staff who genuinely care. Located just 5 minutes up the hill from the beach on the cliff top and definitely at the right end of the island, this ended up being a great choice for us.

They help you to book tours, diving, taxi with trustworthy operators. Especially cooking class with “Time for Lime” and Blue Planet Diving Center. The pool, view and fitness facilities where great. We would clearly recommend this hotel to others.

I would give 7/10 score for a 2K++ THB-per-night room with jacuzzi. We stayed in 1-bedroom suite for a night. The overall was great, very friendly and helpful staffs, clean room, nice view, except the hot shower which didn't work well. The hotel lights were off during the night. The only light that was on is the one in front of the lobby. My husband was out to grab stuff in the car at 10PM and everything was in the dark. And the flashlight provided in our room was died. It would be better if they could left some lights on, at least along the walk-way. Anyway, if you look for some place to chill for your relaxing days and didn't mind about those details mentioned above, I would suggested you to stay here.
