Haven't stayed at the Pen in over a decade, but it was the best choice for our 1st family staycation since this pandemic started! The hotel is still beautiful, well-maintained, and most importantly clean! We felt comfortable venturing out into the world with our little kids, as we were confident that the staff were committed to our safety. Of course, they cannot control the actions of other guests so it's still best to be careful to make sure you & your family are protected whenever you are moving about in the hotel - that's really your personal responsibility already & reflective of your own self-discipline to follow health protocols. We actually decided to extend our stay and booked another night with the hotel directly, in order to maximize our time there. Overall, we were happy, we felt relaxed & grateful to have been able to spend some quality time as a family outside our home. A wonderful and memorable weekend staycation indeed! Thank you to all the staff for their superb service & the great work they do - especially Front Office Manager & Housekeeping OIC, Francis, for ensuring our comfort all throughout!

Very beautiful hotel. Staff is warm, friendly, and attentive from the moment you step into the hotel. I booked three rooms and all three were very comfortable and clean. Bathrooms have strong water pressure and Oscar De La Renta toiletries. Guests are provided with two complimentary bottles of water each day in their rooms. I dined in the lobby and at the Escolta. Food is excellent. If you have the buffet breakfast at the Escolta, give yourself enough time to eat and don't rush, or you will not get your money's worth and enjoy the wonderful selection of food available. Fitness center is open 24 hours, and has complimentary towels and bottled water at every station. I worked out at 5:00 am everyday that I was there. If you wish, they will provide you with a complimentary personal trainer to coach you during your workouts. Located across the Makati Commercial Center, you can easily walk to the various malls and many restaurants. I highly recommend the Peninsula Manila.

I would strongly recommend the Peninsula Manila Hotel for its location, facilities and for its service excellence. I have known the so called Manila Pen for over 30 years and I am so glad that it has continued to keep its 5 star quality rating. The moment we have entered the lobby we were greeted by courteous staff, check in was easy and wow! The ambience is really a 5 star!!! As we have entered our room, we have smelled the scent of cleanliness and it’s the only hotel I’ve known to do two housekeeping (morning and night) housekeeping by very nice, cheerful and helpful housekeepers. It has all the facilities that one needs under one roof! The food was superb with a selection on where to dine. My husband and I enjoyed most the Salon de Ning with the live band which also allowed its guests

Perfects score from accomodation to staff!”

What I liked most about this place is the staff, from the moment you enter, to the accommodation till the day you leave they wear pleasant smiles and are ready to help you with almost anything you need. The place looks neat, is clean and the hotel follows protocols, that way I know I am safe in my staycation. Food is also superb! Free breakfast is served 5 minutes after you take a seat, you dont have to wait for too long especially if you are running late from appointments. Pool and gym also are very neat and well maintained. Looking forward to stay here again when I get back to Manila.

Great hotel, perfect location”

One of the older, but very well maintained, hotels in Makati. You get a nice feeling of grandeur and sophistication once you enter the lobby. Room was clean and spacious. Location is great. The shopping area of Makati, with Greenbelt, Glorietta and SM is just across the street. While the restaurant was good it's nice to know you can always go there for other choices. Except on Good Friday (one of the days we were there) cause then almost everything is closed. Hotel facilities were open of course and the restaurant served us a great meal.

Excellent Service”

The hotel is very beautiful and elegant. I really like how the main lobby looks like and its very inviting. The staff greets you with a smile and are always ready to assist you. We might have been a little bit under-dressed when we checked-in because it was just a last minute decision, but the staff still asked if we need any assistance. Thumbs up to the guy at the front desk who was assisting in the queues (forgot his name) and Gio (the one who checked us in). The breakfast buffet was delicious, a lot of choices. Also, had some light snacks at the lobby. The pool is nice as well. The location of it might be a little inconvenient especially if your room is on the other side of the hotel. You have to walk across the main lobby to get to the pool. I'm not sure if there was another way but it was the only direction that was given to me. However, it was still an amazing stay. Highly recommended!

all good”

wasn’t a smooth check in- we booked 3 rooms (my brother’s wedding reception was at the pen) & they gave us an occupied room 😕 waited on the 6th flr seating area for 10mins + to get checked in, i called the concierge & the manager went to meet us who apologized. it was a smooth 2 day stay, although she said that after investigation, my brother did not check in all 3 rooms, hence the mix up. spoke with my brother who said otherwise. hmmm.. didn’t get the chance to speak with the manager again (won’t mention her name) but the rest of the staff were amazing! room service people were great! jm from the front desk was superb! 5 stars for him! your staff overshadowed the bad experience with the check in. maybe they’ll send in my room a dark chocolate next time.

What service!”

When I checked in the staff said "welcome back Mr. Captain". I said, "Welcome back? You have a good memory!" He said "Yes sir, it's been um, 13 years. Welcome back." Wow, great start. It had been 13 years for a reason; the rooms got tired and awful, following that tank that entered the lobby. It was a musty sop living off it's name. Not any more. The recently completed renovation has buttoned up this grand dame and if you get lucky you will find a decent rate. Comfortable gym and pool area but the lobby is where you will find the local action in an iconic Makati interior space. Pay attention at check in, I didn't know my rate included breakfast and don't recall being informed and I was too cheap so ordered coffee only. Total bill, 100 pesos (tip only), breakfast included sir.

Absolutely superb”

We booked a room with gallery access. The reception did not agree at first but then allowed us access (whilst dongrading the type of room!!!!!). Splendid room, well maintained, clean, great linen and towels. Plenty of water. The gallery lounge was quite an experience. Great food and the most attentive and willing service. No negatives whatsoever, we thoroughly enjoyed it and would return.

Old world style comforts”

I love love Pen as it is called by the locals. Mostly the personnel make it great. A lot is written about how the rooms are showing its age!! Thats ridiculous. Would you say Versailles is showing age? The hotel is well kept. The suite feels like my home. It was quiet. My bed was firm and comfortable. The spa was delightful, fitness room excellently furnished. Restaurant was good.

My restful Holy Week stay at The Peninsula Manila ”

I took advantage of Agoda's 2021 Year-end tie-up with my credit card so I decided to replicate my memorable Christmas 2021 stay for the 2022 Holy Week break. It was a wise decision as my 5-day stay was equally restful after much stress from searching for and moving to a new apartment ( I had to personally inspect about 12 different condos to decide on the worthy new place). This 5-day stay afforded me to regain my energy, thanks to the combined sincere efforts of Front Desk's Alizon, {Escolta's Mitch, Mark, Lord Walley who all warmly welcomed me in the 4 breakfasts I had, Chef Giselle for the healthy salads } and Housekeeping Staff Audemar and Lyka (who both managed to keep my room in spic and span condition I could literally eat in the bathroom) . I would strongly recommend at least a 3-night stay in The Peninsula Manila for a full circle value for money experience.

The BEST hotel in Manila”

When I say the best it’s truly the BEST, from the location , the decor( absolutely magnificent from priceless pieces to beautiful tapestry, the cleanliness impeccable and the staff !! Friendly, approachable to knowledgeable. I’ve stayed from a 2 star to a 5 star across the board and the Pen in Manila exceeded my expectations. Bravo!!

Excellent Service! ”

From the check in to check out, the staff members made my stay enjoyable, fun, comfortable. The breakfast buffet was excellent, great variety, lots of fruits, Western, Asian, you name it. The cappuccino was made to order, the barista did a great job, I loved their breakfast, service. Oh, the piano music at the lobby sounded so soothing, Penninsula quality is there.

We had a great time with our recent stay. All the staff are very professional and attentive to our needs. The hotel is clean, comfortable & well-maintained. The dining staff were great, and we would like to give a shout out to Ron (waiter). He made our group feel special by his courteous and attentive service to us. Amazing Stat”

We had an amazing stay in Manila Pen. The staff and service are superb. The room was well-maintained and very clean. Breakfast buffet had a lot of food options. The location is very near to Glorietta, Greenbelt and Ayala CBD. The staff even gave us complimentary cake since we mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary there. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

Habit-forming Stay at the Peninsula Manila”

The Peninsula Manila always have been an aspirational hotel for me (I started my career in Makati and as a new college graduate, I was drawn to the unique architecture of this place, very much like the Peninsula HongKong in Kowloon, whose grandeur I can only view from Salisbury Road' during my previous HK vacations). The Peninsula Manila has an innate elegance which I get to experience personally when I stayed for 6 days during the 2021 Christmas vacation break. Everyone is courteous, the Breakfast is consistently excellent (I love the Chocochip muffins and Jams), Room service equally outstanding and Front Office personnel are friendly. I strongly endorse a repeat stay if you have the time to indulge in the uniquely Peninsula experience!!

This is my favorite hotel in Manila. It's clean and the staff is well trained. You will not see here something very familiar to many hotels in Manila: flies in the dinning area. The air is always fresh and the restaurant has the best chefs...I don't recall ever having anything to complain about in this hotel!

Anniversary Staycation - Preggy Friendly”

My husband and I had the best staycation in Makati with The Peninsula Manila. Requested for something special since it's our anniversary and they surprised us with a cake in the room when we checked in. I would like to commend Benjie from front desk for being extra nice and accommodating, he even assisted us to our room which was near the elevator so I wouldn't get tired walking down the hallway. Requested also for extra pillows for me to get comfy during my sleep and they didn't hesitate to give us extra. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The vibe of the place is really pinoy! Would love to have my foreign friends check in here.
