    lovely place. friendly staff. comfy beds. I would say a traditional guesthouse . breakfast was lovely. I would stay here again
    lovely building but unsuitable if you can’t manage multiple flights of stairs as four floors and as old building no lift. we didn’t care it was worth it to be some where small and quiet family run rather than a big chain. right on the sea front low season so lots of free parking. easy walking distance from anything you want to see as Whitby isn’t that big . we will stay here again .

    I stayed in one of the single rooms on the very top floor for one night as I passed through Whitby. There are lots of stairs up to the room. Hard work after a day of walking but worth climbing for a comfortable bed and incredible view. Breakfast was great. This B&B have really sorted out the COVID 19 issue. A safe and comfortable stay.

    Amazing view”

    Such a lovely place with an amazing sea view. I was nervous about coming away with the current situation but the whole place and my room was cleaned to a very high standard(always a huge plus for me anyway)and lots of things in place to keep people safe. Will miss my morning coffee with a view. Thank you very much for a lovely stay i will definately stay again and pass the place on to friends.

    Great breakfast cooked as ordered, perfect location on the north cliff area, friendly host Zed welcomed me on arrival. This hotel was very clean and well presented, i would stay again if in the area.

    My first stay at The Riviera, but, definitely not my last.”

    The room, though small was perfectly clean, well equipped and nicely decorated. The shower ? Worked brilliantly. The breakfast options were surprisingly large. My full English was great. The view from the window was a 180 degree sweep of the North Sea.

    Extremely comfortable beds. Special dietary requirements were catered for without any fuss. Very friendly and helpful staff. Overall a positive experience. Stayed in many good guesthouses in Whitby, this one is amongst the best. Will definitely rebook.

    Warm welcome, great location on West Cliff straight opposite sea, efficient staff, clean and comfy, fabulous sea views and delicious breakfast.
    Stairs to top floor would be issue for those with mobility problems but not the fault of the hotel.

    Friendly and homely, had made the effort to trim up for Halloween, very clean and tidy inside, close to Whitby town centre, right on the sea front with room having a sea view.
