I stayed here almost 10 years ago and was happy to come back. Just a quick stay before heading north. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is excellent. Great location near the BTS station so it's easy to get around. Easy to get to/from Suvarnabhumi Airport on the train as well. Closer to everything in the Silom area. Off the street so it's quiet. I'm glad you see that this hotel has kept up their standards over the years and am happy to recommend it to all travelers.

Excellent gay friendly hotel in Silom”
I stayed here almost 10 years ago so I chose this place for a quick stop in Bangkok before heading north. Clean comfortable rooms in a great location. Close to all that Silom has to offer, yet off the street so it's quiet. Price was extremely reasonable. The staff here is excellent. We were able to leave bags here until our room was ready. An easy walk to the BTS station so it's ready to get around and easy to get to and from the airport. They offer late checkout if needed.

Excellent hotel & location”
It is a haven away from noise & ,traffic, set in its own private courtyard. Staff are always very friendly respectful and polite. Rooms are spacious comfortable and cleaned to a very good standard every day. Breakfast is excellent with buffet fruit, toast and tea or coffee, with a choice of Asian or Western mains cooked to your preference. Very good value for money absolutely recommended.

Location & Value”
Silom area is a great area with BTS and MRT transportation within a few city blocks walk. The hotel had breakfast included and although choice was limited, the breakfasts were excellent. Staff was very friendly and appreciated any tips. The room had excellent beds, was super clean and the sitting chairs in addition to the deck chair were a nice bonus to the good sized room. We had a double room. Fairly simple accommodation in an older hotel that was run 5 star!

Clean yet Retro hotel in Surawong”
The location is quite "lively" but the hotel is tucked in a short alley which gives guests privacy from the street and gives them peace and quiet. The hotel is dated as in early 1990s but don't let that detract you from booking. The lobby and dining area is clean and they serve a good plated breakfast. The room is well appointed and very updated. The bathroom is adequate with good water pressure. The bed smells nice. so luxurious and is high quality. The AC is really good. For commuting, best to use MRT Sam Yan rather than Silom. It's nearer and less of a hassle.

Great place to stay”
Outstanding smaller hotel. The ultimate in cleanliness and very helpful staff. Also has elevator. Breakfast menu would be my only criticism. Food good but small portions. Bacon like leather. But that is a very minor thing. Will definitely use this hotel again.

Cheap & had a pleasant stay ”
I’ve stayed for 4 nights & the rooms was very spacious & clean. I was digging the old school vibe so I didn’t have any problem with that at all. They even allowed me to extend for a couple of hours, though w/ additional cost but at least there’s an option for that so you I didn’t need to worry for a place to stay while waiting for my flight passed check out time

The room was very clean, comfortable and big. Big bathroom too. With a Bath!! Good choice of set breakfasts. Near 2 MRT stations and BTS. You can walk to the river in 30 mins to get the free shuttle to Icon Siam. I recommend the water, sound and light show at 8pm. Plus they had their Christmas lights up which were amazing. Silom is still pretty quiet although we were there Sunday/Monday. We found it difficult to eat cheaply since it's still tourist prices. But there is a local food court near The Mango Tree Restaurant. I recommend this hotel

Stayed during Covid-19 ”
I had a room at a very cheap price. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. A choice of 3 types of breakfast, cooked to order. Well prepared and presented, eggs cooked to my liking. Bacon was a let down, but often is in Thailand. Great coffee. Best wifi that I have seen in a while. Very close to both MRT and BTS. This area is famous for night life, the hotel is very convenient to that. Plenty of good eating in nearby restaurants, a lot of Japanese restaurants and food, but plenty of other options also. Recommended.

Is only a few bucks more to have a courtyard view. But it isn't the view you'll appreciate, it's a better recently remodeled room, excellent Mattress. The staff is excellent and this is my go to place in BKK for 20 yrs.

Silom Hotel”
I got a very good Agoda deal on a one night stay here. Because of the low price my expectations were low, but this hotel is great and I would definitely stay again. Location can't be beaten and the rooms have all the facilities a budget traveller requires and my delux room was exceptionally clean. Staff were very polite and helpful and spoke good English. It's a short 5 minute walk to MRT/SkyTrain public transport. Lumphini park and Pat pong are also short walks.

Rooms soundproof are not good. Only one elevator and it closes very fast. We book rooms without breakfast, so we haven't tried the food at hotel. We will back for next time if hotel have deals for tourist as this time i booked.

Affordable and nice & clean environment. ”
As mentioned in my previous review, the staff was very nice in combining my two bookings together, so that my sister and I don't have to check out and check in again. The cleaning staff made the room really nice, changing sheets, towels, mat, giving us new drinking water daily. Overall, was a really good stay, good for those travelling light! Roughly about 600m+ away from Samyan MRT and BTS Sala Daeng.

Great location and people”
The location of the hotel is great, there are metro stations nearby and you can easily access any place in the city. The neighbourhood is busy and a little nasty but we liked it ;) The room (Executive) was really spacious to live for two people for 6 days. The room was quiet and clean. However, the breakfasts coud be more various, this is the only thing that can be imporved. Thank you The Tarntawan Hotel Surawong for out great stay in Bangkok!
