Excellent Hakone area Ryokan!”

My stay here was just awesome! I really had a great time and it was super relaxing as well. Don't let the price deter you. Keep in mind the price includes meals (breakfast and dinner). And those were delicious! My room was super spacious and clean. Most of the staff was uncomfortable with English, but regardless, they were super helpful. Despite this, I would totally recommend you give this place a try. The ryokan is essentially right next to Gora Station. And has plenty of ammenities (souvenir shop, vending machines, restaurants, etc.) on site. The included meals were excellent and super tasty. And both meals felt like a lot of food. There's onsen at the hotel. There's an actual hot spring water one, and there's one that doesn't. And they are more or less open all the time, except for the few hours for maintenance and cleaning. I only experienced the hot spring one and it was awesome. There was a private bath on my room's balcony as well, so if you are a little self conscious, that's totally an option. There's screens in front of the tub so people won't be able to see you. With that said, there's no shower or bath in my room. The shower/bath was on my balcony. It was a great experience and highly recommended. Gora Station is a ways into Hakone, so you definitely want to plan to arrive early so you can make the most of your stay!

Very convenient location with all-rounded service ”

The hotel is located 1 mins walk from Gora Station and right next to Gora bus stop which is very convenient. We stayed at the hotel for three nights and they served us three different sets of breakfast and dinner (very considerate!). The food are nice too. There is no restaurant nearby the hotel, so we basically spent all our breakfast and dinner time at the hotel. There is a bath for hot spring in the room. The hotel also provides both public and private hot spring service which is great to enjoy. The staffs are helpful and friendly.  The room is a little bit small but is clean and tidy. Overall it is great experience to stay in this hotel.

Food was a bit salty and private baths were usually full. Overall pretty good location”

Overall, the staff were very polite and able to speak English well enough! Sadly not tattoo friendly, but we chose this place knowing that would be the case. The beef shabu shabu dinner is the better choice, and the breakfast is suuuper salty. Make sure to show up before 8am to be seated for breakfast. They also have a free ramen snack from 10pm-11pm. We tried to go to the private bath, but it was often full. There are lights at the bottom that indicate if it’s in use or not: light on = in use. Note that the lights in front of the private bath are just regular lights, they’ll be on regardless of usage. We didn’t know that, and another couple literally stole the open bath right in front of us without asking if we were gonna use it simply because we stood around for a second too long, wondering about the lights… The outdoor bath in our room was also really nice! I liked it better than the private bath since we were able to get a good view outside. It seems almost no one used their personal bath, as we didn’t hear any voices or water running around us. It was very very cold during windy nights, however, not a good combination when you’re showering outdoors. The location was a really good spot, literally next to the buses and train station! Note that everything seems to kind of close on Wednesday!!!! We didn’t realize this and no one posts their open days/hours, and almost all the little stores next to the hotel were CLOSED on Wednesday, so we actually never got to explore the immediate area at all. Very close to the Hakone Open-Air Museum and the Hakone Ropeway. Overall, I’d like to try other places, but this was a pretty good start! Also advice to those traveling with luggage - DON’T! Make sure you figure out how to find / take buses before coming. The buses were suuupppeerrr packed and it was a nightmare to store our luggage and retrieve them when it was time to get off our stop. The train may take 15 mins longer, but the extra space is WORTH IT. In fact, I reco

Excellent hotel just next to Gora station”

Just 2 mins walk from Gora station, room was spacious and clean, with private onsen at balcony. Staff are very nice and helpful. Many snacks and drinks offered for free during the stay. Breakfast and dinner were good. Public onsen was nice, and there were also 3 private rooms of onsen that could be used when it was not occupied. The location is very convenient, with bus stops and train station just outside the hotel.

Cannot recommend enough”

This place was a suggestion by a friend - so glad I took it. My stay was phenomenal. I'm vegetarian and they had preset my meals accordingly for dinner and breakfast before I arrived. The staff were so polite and wonderful. The location couldn't be more convenient (right beside Gora train station). The stay itself was so relaxing. Would absolutely stay again.
