Clean hotel with a smile on a perfect location!”

The hotel is very clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful, the room price including standard breakfast is a bargain. The location is perfect, walking distance to shops and restaurants. I did extend my stay for 2 nights at Tran Ly hotel to explore more of beautiful and peaceful Hue.

Great service, super location, value for money”

The Tran Ly is a straight-forward, basic hotel which is well kept by a lovely team of staff who are genuinely there to make sure your stay is the best it can be (without being intrusive or overbearing). Rooms are basic but clean (if you are expecting 5* luxury amenities, fixtures and fittings then don't) and more than sufficient for a few days stay. Breakfast is also good - the pancakes come highly recommended! Located just across from the river and within easy walking distance of the Citadel and some great restaurants / bars. True value for money at just over $15 per night.

Lovely hotel with exceptionally helpful staff”

Staying at the Tran Ly was without doubt one of the best hotel experiences anywhere I have travelled. The hotel is really welcoming and relaxed, with a lovely energy in the reception area. The price is really good and equally the standards throughout. The staff manage to do their jobs very well without any hidden agenda, and they have a very good command of English. I will certainly return and recommend.

in front of perfume river”

i arrived at hue about twelve o'clock, it was hot to walk around and i stayed in hotel until four o'clock. i could walk to the main market cross the bridge of perfume river, it took only 15 minutes from hotel to the main market. next morning i went to the famous citadel by motor-bike taxi, it took only 5 minutes and vd. i also joined a one day tour around city and came back to hue by boat, boat pier was located 3 minutes walk from tran ly so that i could walk back to hotel. there were so many restaurants around tran ly, local foods and foreigners' restaurants.

Good Basic Hotel”

I stayed in Tran Ly Hotel 2 nights, on arrival they were helpful at setting me up with a map and telling me about the various things to see in Hue. Rooms are standard, comfortable and clean, with AC and hotwater. Breakfast is really good, choosing from more than 25 diffrent items on the breakfast menu cooked just for you. Location is great for walking around the streets and not too far from sites. Hotel staff booked me a bus to the airport at local rates not tourist inflated ones.

Lovely hotel”

I only stayed here for one night but it was perfect. I was picked up from the train station for free, greeted by lovely staff and given a cool drink on arrival. My room was large and spacious. Breakfast was nice and the staff were great about me using the hotel during the day before I departed Hue again. I would recommend this hotel 100% for your stay in Hue.

Friendly family hotel with great location”

we had a room on the 1st floor at the front with a large window and small balconey with double glazing as was very quiet considering we are on the main street. our room was very clean as was the bathroom. in the room was a tv, free internet & air-con. as with most local hotels in vietnam the beds can be hard. we walked to the citadel and around the local area. just turn left out the door then first left down the street and a variety of shops, bars & restaurants await you. hue is a very friendly city.

Hotel with great service”

i enjoyed my stay in this hotel more than any other in viet nam. we were greeted with a warm smile and delicious hot lemon tea on a cold day in hue. the room and washroom were spotless. wi-fi worked pretty well. the staff, both attendant and front desk manager were very friendly and exceedingly helpful. their breakfast menu had more variety than many other standard hotels in viet nam.

We had a great time in Hue. The staff was really friendly and polite. They helped make the vacation a success. We were close enough to walk to the citadel without getting lost easily. The tours that the hotel offers were really great too. We went to the DMZ tour and was really pleased we had gone. Only oroblem was the shower. We barely had water pressure to take a descent shower.

Great location and excellent service”

The Tran Ly Hotel is right near the main street by the river. It was quite a busy area, but very close to some great restaurants and shops. My room was okay - only one small window in the bathroom, which made it feel quite claustrophobic.

Good Hotel with friendly staff”

There was little to fault this hotel. It was a good place to stay and I would go back again. I had a room at the front on the first floor and it was spacious, quiet (which was a surprise) because of the road but the windows were up tot he job and it had a great bed. My only criticism was the condensation in the room first thing in the morning and if I had been out. Nothing a bit of air conditioning couldn't cure, and it did. But that doesn't solve the underlying problem, there was a bit damp getting in from somewhere. Not that you could see where, the room was immaculate and clean. Still something for them to look into. The thing that made it was the staff though. Helpful and considerate. Amongst the best Id come across in Vietnam.

Good place but small room”

hue is a good place for sight-seeing. you can walk through truong tien bridge to dong ba market, or to hue imperial for 5mins by taxi from this hotel.

Great Budget hotel”

Great hotel in excellent location for bars eating and touring. Staff were excellent and attentive. Room was very comfortable, only downside was room was a hike to top floor, common to agoda customers I think. But an excellent budget hotel

Go for the Deluxe Room!”

Our booking was for two "Double Standard with Breakfast" with twin beds ($14), but on arrival we found that they had no windows. We asked if we could upgrade to two "Deluxe with Breakfast" and they were able to do this for us. These rooms are spacious with a great street view and good value at only $22. The staff are friendly and helpful, arranging our temple tour and airport transport and providing umbrellas when needed. Breakfast is a bit unimaginative, but OK. The stair climb may put off some travellers but we didn't really mind.
