Outstanding building and fascade”
The Vien Dong Hotel stood out as we approached it at night it’s a beautiful building and well illuminated at night. It would seem it has replaced an older building as the large pool at the back obviously is much older than the hotel itself. This is not an issue however as the befit is the large mango trees still in place providing good shade for the pool side lounges. Breakfast was well presented and everything that you could possibly want – the staff were also very obliging. The first day there was yogurt which I enjoy and when it was laid out the second day it was no trouble for the staff to get some for us. The hotel is located quite close to the very popular swimming beach. A supermarket is around a kilometre away and around $1 in a taxi. There are night markets to the south and a bit further down on the other side is a restaurant called Sticky Fingers – I recommend this and told the hotel staff to add it to their list.

Great hotel”
Best location and great breakfast. I read reviews and seriously people need to remember they are in Vietnam. It was great and close to everything. Disregard the posts relating to the state of rooms. They are clean and cheap. Only problem is the many rude Russian patrons who have little or no regard for western manners or conventions. They made our stay a disappointment due to them rudely cutting in on breakfast lines and talking over you at the front counter. Luckily I reminded them of how fat and rude they are and they moved. Nha trang would be great except for these rude people

Lovely hotel, 1 block from the beach”
The Vien Dong was a nice hotel and we enjoyed our time there. The rooms had good AC and a nice big shower. The beds were comfortable and there were many English television channels. It's a block from the beach, and about a 15 minute walk from many great restaurants (you can take cyclos if you don't want to walk). The breakfast was mostly Vietnamese food.

Lots of Russians”
I stayed there nine nights. I found the staff friendly and they have a big breakfast buffet. They also have two pools, one for adult. The pool area offers a quite area where you, at least almost, don't hear the traffic. My room faced a heavily traffic road which didn't gave me that much moment of peach from the noise of all motorbikes in Nha Trang. In general I'm satisfied with my stay at Vien Dong Hotel. The room was big and clean, but I found the beds a little bit inconvenient and the free wi-fi was sometimes poor or not working so I sometimes had to wait a while and try to connect again.

It was just awesome. I've been to nha trang and everywhere I go to actually has to pass by this location, making it really convenient. The staff there is very attentive and they are informative as well.

Good location - OK Hotel !”
Hotel is dated but still perfectly usable. Looks a bit like the art deco hotels of the 50's with rounded corners. Room was good - bed OK - Refrigerator in the room with drinks - Bottled water supplied daily. Bathroom was OK - everything worked - AC as well. No hot water or pressure problems. Breakfast was OK - no more - Staff OK - some nicer than others. TV worked but few English speaking channels - bring a DVD player if you want to watch movies. Wireless internet was good - fast (by hotel standards) - and seemed to have adaquate capacity. Hotel had large public rooms for banquette functions and they were used. Pool is good but was probably made as a competition facility and so the depth is 2 meters (about 6 feet) from end to end. Water is kept well and the facility is enjoyable. Many restaurants are close by or within a short cab ride. The beach is also within walking distance. One tip - the Nha Trang airport is not in Nha Trang and is almost a one hour drive from the town - leave plenty of time for your trip.

Nice surprise, room are clean and close from beach”
i stayed here for 2 nights, room are clean and bed nice. there was some little problem with wifi, it takes almost 1/2 days to fix it. there is also room in block b (old building), breakfast is ok. bathroom pretty good also. next to lodge hotel and almost 15min by walk to nha trang center or western downtown. swimming pool look old, and no private beach.

The hotel is located in the middle of Nha trang center. Only a few mintues walk to the beach. The rooms are fine but the pool area is not good, you should walk to the beach instead.

Beautiful hotel at affordable price”
I was impressed with the exterior design and its lobby, however the hotel interior is run down and needed to refurbish,especially the buffet restaurant where the floor looks dirty. the washroom is small but the washbasin is oversize but it is well stocked with white new towels and good amenities. The buffet breakfast is very good with lots of choices. the beach and Nha Trang shopping center are just a short walk away. I definitely recommend this hotel to my friends.

Nice Location... 5 minutes to the beach”
Stayed at the hotel for couple of days. It was raining most of the time. Booked the room with King bed. Cleanliness is good. Water is hot. Breakfast is limited but food quality is acceprable. 5 minutes walk to the beach where you have to cross a major road. 10 minutes walk to major night life (Clubs). Breakfast is at an Annex behind the hotel. There was no shelter walkway from the rain. Nice Swimming pool. Negative side. Place was quite crowded with Chinese Tourists. You need to get accustom to their habits which till now i cannot. Visit to VinPearl island is a must for 1st time tourist. Nice cable car ride. But dont expect a 5stars Disneyland there. Star attraction, Underwater Aquarium is closed for maintenance (was not forewarn by Tour Agent that it was closed).

Difficult, but comfy.”
we arrived after a long trip, during tet and not feeling well. tet, being the chinese new year, everything was closed, so things were already difficult. made a last minute iphone booking at the hotel, and showed them an electronic copy of the booking confirmation. not accepted. hotels internet was down so it was up to me to wander around nha trang, tired and ill to find an internet cafe with a printer.. not easyduting tet. that was a bad start to our relationship with the hotel. after cheking in it was ok. just ok. breakfast was ok. room ok. staff not helpful. probably over rated for the price. it is new and clean though.

Location, location”
we extended our stay by three days in nha trang and decided to just stay at the same hotel. to get to the beach walk through the pool area and across the road. large pool and very clean. other people have said is is not but they were constantly scooping out leaves etc and checking the balance of the water. the water was very , very clear. however the surroundings seemed grubby. we never saw it swept or washed down. the pool attendant (the small on) was just miserable and did nothing. the room was comfortable with a small balcony. breakfast was terrible, not even a toaster. we did not bother with breakfast on most morning. in all a pleasant stay.

Recently remodeled, great value and location”
Obviously newly remodeled, this hotel was a great value for the price. For about a third of the cost of the nearby Sheraton, you get almost as nice of a hotel. The included breakfast buffet is a great deal too, though Westerners may find some of the choices a bit strange (pho, duck pate, fried rice, spaghetti). Fortunately, they'll also make you eggs/omelets and crepes to order.

Lovely hotel in a great location ”
we arrived at the hotel at 6:30am and were pleasantly surprised that all our requests about early check-in, a high floor room with great were accepted with a smile. it is a lovely hotel with staff who are all trying their best to make our staff as comfortable as possible. we had problems with getting access to the internet with our own computers but the hotel gave us access to their business center.
