Cheap and cheerful ”
Great value and only 5 minutes walk to town. We got a taxi back as there is a steep hill on the way back. Lovely friendly staff and very clean too… Although we didn’t eat there(They closed early!) the Italian restaurant next door smelt gorgeous… Have stayed here several times and would definitely stay again!

Clean, welcoming and comfortable”
Great location to base yourself if you want to be slightly out from the city centre but within walking distance. Bus service available if you want to park up and get into the city centre without the challenge of car parking. It was very clean and welcoming great value for the price and complimented our plans

We always stay at this travel lodge when visiting Durham, nice 10 minutes walk to centre,free car parking they even allow you to leave the car for remainder of the day you check out if wanting a few more hours in the LOVELY city. Spotless clean hotel ,quiet and comfortable nights sleep. Everything

Durham city show”
We spent the night at the Travelodge after going to a show at the Gala Theatre. We spent the afternoon in the city itself, went up to check in then went back down for the show and, as we were staying just a short distance away from the city centre, we managed a couple of drinks before walking back to the Travelodge. That was the added benefit of this hotel choice. Everyone knows the chain and this one may have been basic to match the cost but it was very clean, tidy and comfortable - plus the lady on reception was very helpful and friendly when we checked in. had a lot worse in many big name chains.

Clean tidy and a warm welcome ”
Very comfortable stay, here for two nights over Christmas period and my welcome was met by a lovely lady at reception, where I was greeted and shown My room in ground floor, when I entered the room it was very clean tidy and cosy. All tea and coffee facilities plus extra to collect if needed in reception. The only down side to this stay is limited Wi-Fi and £3 to purchase for 24 hours. I have never had to do this before at hotels.

The place to stay on Durham ”
Travel lodge in Durham is superb. We were there as a couple staying overnight Superb room, quite spacious Lovely shower Very easy to get to Lovely couple of pubs just up the Road which offered Lovely food at very competitive prices. You won't be disappointed.

Good location for exploring Durham, was able to walk into the centre knowing car was safe back at Travelodge. Did have an issue which was quickly resolved by the friendly helpful staff. Would recommend and use again next time we visit the area

Smashing service ”
Stayed for the weekend with one of my daughters. Staff were very friendly and informative. Made you feel very welcome. Had a problem with my key card one day and they were straight on it and got it sorted. Location was just right as a short walk into the town centre. Thoroughly recommend.

Almost everything about our Travelodge Durham stay was was very good - location; assistance from receptionist; cleanliness; facilities; parking. One small fault was that our bed was not as comfortable as we had hoped - a definite dip in the middle of the mattress.
