Exceptional”
I made a booking from 24 to 27 May for my mother to stay at the Vela Resort. Hereunder are her views. I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Very nice room with lovely view from both the bedroom and bathroom over the pool. Yen, delightful lady with the biggest smile, behind reception and everywhere else really, couldn’t do too much. The time of year meant torrential downpours of rain so she took me on her scooter shopping for food, sourced a nearby nail salon and drove me there and back. Yen suggested good local seafood restaurants, organised reasonably priced taxis, filled in my Bluezone health declaration form prior to departure for the airport. There was only myself and one other guest there! We were served mango and banana pancakes and coffee for breakfast. The beach is only four minutes walk away. Would recommend this hotel as an incredibly inexpensive option for those wishing to eschew tourist destinations and looking for a remoter, natural setting. Options for lunch and dinner are two larger hotels in the area 4 and 8 minutes walk away or a taxi into Duong Dong to eat the wonderful seafood at ridiculously low prices. Location is near the beach but is not the best beach in Phu Quoc, if you’re looking for white sand blue sea water I recommend Sao Beach (least commercialise) Average breakfast Friendly and helpful staff Basic hotel with all needed facilities Bed is hard (if you don’t like you might wanna reconsider) we stayed in room 114

The resort is not suitable for lovers of sunbathing, it is about 200 meters from the beach and does not have its own part of the beach. It is more suitable for families with children for swimming in the local pool. The breakfast was delicious, but some of the food was fast-eaten and either not supplemented or doped with a long delay. Breakfasts total lacked yoghurts, flakes and musli. The cheese was available at most once a week. The bikes and trainers that are to be borrowed have been much obsolete and rusted. Cycling was more of a hardship. Very positive was the friendly staff approach and cleanliness in the rooms and throughout the all resort. There have always been perfectly treated plants and lawns. The pool was cleaned daily. The pavements and the surroundings of the pool were swept daily.

Telephone in room is broken The electric shut down 2 times in 3 days but the resort staff do not know until i call them by my phone. If you do not have vietnam telephone number, god bless you The chef who fry egg in the morning is impolice, work like a robot. Never smile, if you eat his egg two times, he will look at you. Never come again.

My family stayed here for 5 nights. The place is quite far from the center of the island and the airport so it cost a large time and money for traveling around. The room wifi signal is weak. The funitures in the room are quite enough. The laundry service is sometimes overloaded and cannot accept more. The breakfast is quite poor with just few dishes reapeated, but it is expected with a cheap resort like this. The room is a little bit smelling. However, the staffs are quite friendly.

Really cannot recommend this hotel in any way. I am a very regular traveller for business and pleasure for 20+ years, rarely have I regretted booking a hotel so much. Pro: Yen the receptionist is an absolute credit, her service, kindness, professional are 5* The cleaning ladies were also lovely. That's it. It stops there! VERY clever photos taken of pool area, it looks nothing like the pictures. Walls in the rooms are Paper-thin - in fact I could even hear my neighbours yawning! Breakfast - awful. For a country with such amazing coffee, they serve awful stuff. Greasy food, soft/stale fruit, just awful tbh. The hotel is almost 90% Russian, nothing wrong with this but it was clear the hotel manager only had time for you if you were someone important and Russian. I had small dealing with him, his face met me like thunder and there was zero sincerity in this man; the feel of a hotel starts from the top... hence why this resort feels like a black cloud sits above it. So much better around.

Great chillout oasis”
Fantastic location, just a few steps from the beach. The resort ensures all amenities you need: swimming pool, cabanas with sun beds, small gym, breakfast buffet, airport transfer included. The staff is very helpful, they try to meet every needs. If you want to find a remote and quiet beach location that is a perfect spot for you. Restaurants and shops are within 5 minute walk. Bicycles are for free. The rooms are spacious, clean and air-conditioned. We simply love Vela Phu Quoc Resort.

R&R at the Vela!”
Very relaxing week at the Vela Phu Quoc Resort. Staff were great and very friendly. Yen on the front desk was a 'ray of sunshine' with her cheerful disposition and efficient manner. Good value place to stay! Close to beach and restaurants.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff and only 2 minutes to a beautiful beach ”
This is a lovely hotel just a two minute walk to a really beautiful beach. The staff are extremely friendly, warm and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them, especially the lady on reception who spoke great English. The pool area is very comfortable and pool towels and mats are provided if you want to take them down the beach. There is no bar or restaurant directly next to the hotel, the village is about a 10 minute walk away from the beach. This is fine during the day and early evening, but a little bit dark/errie after 11 p.m (a few stray dogs and a general lack of street lights, even with a torch we still got growled at!). Ong Lang is a very chilled out and relaxing place and we would definitely recommend staying here over Long Beach and we found this hotel to be perfect for our needs.

Large rooms with nice bathrooms”
When we arrived, our room smelled quite badly of damp/mildew. The next morning we talked to reception and they moved us straight away into another room and the smell was less bad. The rooms are nice and big and the showers were hot with good pressure. The beds were hard. There is a decent smaller beach a few minute walk away or amazing ong Lang beach 20 minute walk away(5 minute scooter ride). The breakfast was great with eggs and pancakes cooked to your liking. Lovely pool area and gardens. We would stay here again.

Nice hotel near the beach”
Location is very good, it's only a short walk to the Ong Lang beach, no much choose of breakfast. The girl (receptionist) and the boy (waiter - night shift) are very friendly and enthusiastic. However, when my mom request ironing service, the staff said that they didn't have ironing because they gave iron for another guest, they promised they will ironing for my mom at night. Finally, they couldn't ironing for my mom, they said that they just had ONE IRON?????

Clean, comfortable, and good beach access”
Yun at the front desk is a ray of sunshine. The entire staff was very friendly and pleasant. I enjoyed my time at the resort and the neighborhood restaurants. The breakfast buffet has many items each day, and the hot selections and fruit vary from day to day, with omelettes, eggs, and banana pancakes a constant. The beach is only 3 minutes walk from the resort. My room was clean and large, with a firm bed. Toiletries are supplied, including toothbrush and toothpaste, cotton swabs, soap, shampoo, shower cap, and body lotion so you don't have to bring your own. Two small bottles of water were also provided each day. The resort gives you beach towels and yoga mats to take to the beach. There are sun loungers at the pool. My only negative comment would be to give the spa amiss. It's down a few steps from ground level and is musty smelling and wasn't clean. There is no privacy. My massage was just okay, some time was definitely being killed to make up an hour. Otherwise, do recommend.

beautiful staff great location”
you will not regret booking this place. lovely staff, always smiling and saying hello. my boyfriend and I had massages and they were fantastic! very close to beach and short walk to restaurants at night up the street. 15 min taxi ride to night markets /main town. if your looking for some peace and quiet time then defiantly come here... best value for the price in the area!

Great room - a little farther north on the Island”
Great room, clean, comfortable, quiet and about 5 minutes walking distance to the beach. Getting to the hotel took about 1/2 hour from the ship on the North end. The location requires using taxis or renting a motorbike. This is a great secluded place to stay. Highly recommend it.

Clean and near the beach”
Vela reach is clean and nesr the beach. But breakfast is not enough for people to eat. And there are many butterfly on the food. I cant eat fruit.
