Really lovely little Hotel. ”
I stayed here for three nights for new years. I booked a single room, but I'm pretty sure they upgraded me to a double. I didn't get the breakfast as I like to lie in, so I can't comment on that. Positives; The staff were lovely, really attentive and accommodating. They answered all my questions and made sure I was okay. Nothing but good things to say here. The bed and room was great for the price and everything was clean and comfortable (although, like I said, I'm sure they upgraded me). The room was bright and the temperature of the room was just right. They had a laundry service in the hotel which was pretty reasonable given the prices of the laundrettes locally, oh my! The location was fantastic! I was able to walk from the train station (even though I was carrying a really heavy backpack), it was near loads of shops and attractions, and the city centre was also close by. Things to consider; Overall none of these things 'ruined' my stay, and I would still recommend this hotel to a friend, but ... yeah a minor annoyance. The shower in my room was in need of an upgrade, not in style but in plumbing. The water came out like someone had put their finger over a hose, making the water spurt everywhere but my body, and getting the floor all wet even with the curtain - and it was not a wet room. To - I assume - combat this, they moved the shower head close to the wall which made it even harder to wash. Although, the streams were powerful enough that I could use the 'mist' of the ricochet to wash. But yeah, bit of a faff for me, but hopefully not all the showers are like that. Also, and this isn't the hotel's fault, but there's construction going on along the road which blocks off the whole road just before you reach the hotel - one which google is unaware of - which means you've got to walk up a really steep hill if you're coming from the station. Not for the unfit and those carrying a heavy suitcase or rucksack let me tell you.

Superb memorable stay in Glasgow ”
Very clean & well organised. There is always a person available at front desk 24/7. Our family really had great pleasure. The morning breakfast staff was very co-operative and friendly. All amenities were at walking distance.

Nice big room with lovely ensuite only downside was the draft coming in from the windows , needs new window frames fitted to eliminate the draft . Nice breakfast with plenty of choice , happy and pleasant staff, would recommend to friends . I almost missed it arriving in low light , hotel sign needs re-painting and illumination .

Fine”
We were told on arrival breakfast would be delivered to room in morning as the restaurant was closed. This never happened. So myself and 2 kids had to eat elsewhere at a cost to myself. Room looked clean but on closer inspection there were several hairs in bed and pillows were dirty. Several undesirables outside hotel discussing heroin deals who seemed to be staying at adjoining hotel. Location good. Fine for price although will never be back...

Victorian House Hotel ”
Bedroom ok, apart from shower but no bath. The milk in the small carton curdled in my cup of tea and - very disappointing - no proper breakfast, just a takeaway paper bag with banana, apple, yoghurt etc. No decent coffee, just Nescafe. I know these are covid times but they advertised breakfast and we paid for it. Good location but what a let down.

Two of us stayed in the Victorian house hotel, mid Feb 2019, for 4 nights. We booked the super king sized room (although, I think we got the king sized room as we had wooden floors, this was not an issue for us at all). Things that were great: Lovely building with lots of character. Location of the hotel was perfect, about 3 min walk and you’re on a main road (Sauchiehall St) in the centre where there are lots of restaurants/cheap eats and couple of mini supermarkets. About a 10 min walk from coach station. Less than 5 min walk to nearest bus stop. Staff were great, welcoming if you have any queries but will give you space otherwise. Our room including the bathroom was very clean and the cleaning staff does a great job. Very easy to stay comfortable in your room. Our room had central heating/radiators which we could change the temp and we had access to windows we could slightly open to get some fresh air in. Bed was super comfy, if I had the choice I probably would’ve spent all day in it! Food was as expected really, nothing special but satisfying enough. They provided hot food (English breakfast items) and a selection of cold items (fruits, cereals, croissants, yoghurts etc), together with a hot/cold drinks machine which you help yourself too. TV was good, didn’t watch much but had a remote. Tea/coffee facilities in the room were also handy. They supplied enough toiletries (soaps, plastic cups, toilet roll) Things to think about it/stuff that can’t be helped: We were staying as they were doing some renovations. Didn’t cause any problems for us at all and they had signs everywhere to warn us and apologise, which was nice. I presume if you came by car you wouldn’t have much space for parking near the hotel as the on road parking spaces were always full (worth calling first to find out more about this as we came by coach). Very studenty area (as you’re down the road to The Glasgow School of Art). Things that could be improved: Apart from an open clothes

Central, great value and super breakfast”
Can't fault the Victorian House, it's a stone's throw from Sauchiehall St and great value for money. You get an amazing cooked breakfast and a clean, quiet and warm room. Staff are wonderful, the kind lady at reception organised a rather complicated three night booking (separate bookings per night) so that I could stay in my original single room instead of shifting every day. Don't be put off by the public hallways and in progress building works, the rooms are great and I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Glasgow.

Pleasant surprise”
Stayed 1 night in a single room. Hotel was esy to find, within reasonable walking distance from city centre. Not very familiar with Glasgow, but as a solo traveller it felt like a safe area to walk around in the evening, with loads of students about and lots of options for meals. The room and ensuite were spacious and spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of tea / coffee and a kettle. The dining room is really nice, can imagine in summer it is a lovely spot. Breakfast was great, plenty of options (including a spot of haggis) and nice coffee. The staff, especially front desk, were friendly and helpful. For the very competitive price, Victoria House exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend this gem of a place.

Great Value and Location”
This was an impulse booking for an overnight stay in the centre of Glasgow. While the room was small and backed onto the kitchen so that it was noisy in the morning, that didn't matter. The hotel is situated up a short street from Sauchiehall Street and couldn't be better located if you need easy access into the centre of Glasgow for a Friday evening out. The breakfast is included and great value. If you're looking for a budget, no-frills, hotel stay overnight in Glasgow, see if you can get a good price here and you are good to go.

Exceptional”
Chosen for its value and proximity to public transportation and the city center, Victorian House served as a pleasant place to stay. Wonderful breakfast offset a minor issue with the heater. FYI, the hotel is situated about 75m up a decent climb (on both sides) if walking to the main street.

Good place in Glasgow!”
In general, this is a good place to stay in Glasgow. **POSITIVE: I got a single room on the 1st floor. Bed was comfy, room was very warm all the time. The staff was friendly and helpful. She even showed me the places to visit and gave advice on the transportation. The common bath room at the end of the corridor between the ground and 1st floor is excellent. There was a bath ,and they even provided a mat and a towel there (you already receive 2 towels when you have your room). They have good breakfast as well. Wifi is stable. **NEGATIVE: Might take you 20 minutes walk from Glasgow Central Station. Remember you will have to walk up a hill! (not a steep one though, just need some climbing). For the breakfast, you can't serve yourself (only for the main dishes) but have to wait for the service. Also, I don't understand why they're not happy to serve you more than once! (I honestly only filled half my plate for the first time !!!). Best to take everything you want right on the first try!!
