First up, we stayed at Viengkaew 2, not 1 which may be different. Its beautiful and fantastic value so get here before everyone else does. : ) Upon arriving in Fang, we called our hotel and the owners immediately came out and picked us up in their 4WD. They were really lovely and very welcoming. Nothing was too hard and we were welcomed into our bungalow with a large tray of fresh fruit including mangosteen, apples, grapes, longan etc - just delicious. Everything was immaculately clean with a super comfortable bed, plenty of power outlets and all the usual amenities afforded to 5 star hotels. Though the resort has no pool, the bungalows all looked new and very stylish like they were architecturally designed. Clean, modern and beautiful. Easily nicer than most of the 5 star hotels I stayed at in Bangkok. The resort itself is maybe 5 minutes stroll from convenience stores, restaurants and the main road so you have almost everything close by without the noise. The resort also features a lovely open plan restaurant which looks out into a tropical garden with peach face lovebirds in 2 large cages and in the distance a large hydroponic garden which I'm guessing is used to stock the kitchen. I really loved this place. Its easy to see the owners have made every effort to make it as pleasurable as possible a place to stay. I just wish I could have stayed longer. So in closing, if you visit Fang, I thoroughly recommend you avoid the boring hotels and head straight to Viengkaew Resort 2.

Quiet Garden Spot with Good Breakfast”
The three nights that we stayed at Viengkaew Resort were very restful. This tiny resort is tucked away in the center of town, convenient to everything in the city, but it was peacefully quiet, with independent boutique rooms surrounded by lush gardens and chirping birds. Our breakfast, with omelets cooked-to-order and fresh vegetables from the gardens, was eaten in a open thatched-roofed bamboo sala with a garden view that was cool, even in the hot season. Our room was spacious with high ceilings and air-conditioned. High-speed Internet performed flawlessly. Breakfast is the only meal offered and the online discount made it worth the money.

Viengkaew Resort is situated in a quiet area of Fang. The small peaceful Resort offers clean, nice and comfortable rooms. The value for the money is worth it. The owner is very friendly and she cooked us a really good and fresh breakfast with the vegetable from the Resort's garden. I recommend it to every traveler to this region.

Nice Micro-Resort on the Edge of Town”
I don’t know how to describe this hotel except that it is a micro-resort nestled on a tiny hill in the sleepy town of Fang. We were in Fang for an event nearby, and this hotel had the look and feel of a quiet place to unwind, and we were right! The owners were very friendly and helpful, skillfully checking us in and showing us to our room. The rooms consist of 5 stand-alone bungalows that were recently completed and done-up in different colors of indigenous Thai celadon tiles. They were very comfortable and placed in a nice little garden where nightly bonfires occur and the owners keep a small greenhouse for growing the salad greens and other vegetables served at the restaurant. Breakfast was quite wonderful, and was served in the little sala in the garden. This is a great place for the price, and we would stay here again in a heartbeat if we are ever back in Fang for the night.

Very relaxing Resort with good location ”
was ideal location to attend the annual fang winter festival. just around the corner. we enjoyed this excellent retreat and service was outstanding. organic vegetables were served with breakfast. very relaxing place to stay at. and being in around fang city, all the points of interest are easy to get to. the neat cabins were modern and bed was comfortable. air conditioning was available if you needed it. i suspect this retreat is going to be booked up quickly once the word is out. the landscaping was beautiful with orchids, lush plants, bird cages, green house for vegetables. small koy fish pond next to outside dinning area. loved the nature theme. best kept secret

Deluxe room is large and very comfortable rooms with unique decoration. It's my first time with family in Ang Khang & Fang and everyone has recommended this resort. You won't be disappointed. the resort decoration is simply but nice and clean. Loved this little resort at a great price!

Superb”
This is a lovely little place situated next to a couple of Fang's most interesting temples and a 10-minute walk from downtown. Had roofed parking for our car. Very nice English-speaking owner was ready and waiting for us. She grows organic veggies on the leafy property and also has a large collection of cacti. Liked the goldfish pond as well. Detached villas are gorgeous and great for the price, very spacious and fully equipped with all mod-cons, including hot water kettle and complimentary tea/coffee. Had a couple of wooden chairs in the room plus a comfy lounger on a private terrace draped in tropical greenery. Quiet surrounds. The bed was firm but good quality and the room spotless. Breakfast was home cooked and served hot; loved how it incorporated the homegrown veggies. There's not loads to see in Fang town but this place made a great base for day trips to Doi Ang Khang (stunning) and the hot springs at Doi Hom Phok National Park.

I loved everything in this place. The owner was fantastic, extremely friendly and helpful, and the design of the bungalows is beautiful, and private not too less not too much, centralized location in very quiet and peaceful area. Great breakfast done by the owner served with hydroponic salads produced by herself there. The details are very impressive as well, such as the shampoo and soap were natural products. This a beautiful little oasis in Fang. We strongly recommend this resort to everybody and we will definitely go back again.

The best in Fang”
Fang doesn't offer a lot, but this place is worth it if you want to get off the highway for a night. The hot springs and the kings garden took us a whole day to sightsee by hired van, and they are both premier but rather unknown sights in northern Thailand. The folks running this home stay are serious hydroponic garden ears and the breakfast was great because of it. The room has gorgeous tiles, a TV with a few movies in English, and an interesting monetary right next door. The only downside was the lack of night tables on either side of the bed with lights. The windows really need screens, so as it is we had to keep them closed at night and rely on AC. Very nice folks running the place.

Best resort in Fang”
Beside enjoying the natural beauty of the resort. We have never expected such a nice resort owner. Its was big bonus for us when she suggested and took us to a Wednesday morning market. Where we experience the life of local market. It was awesome. If you like the life of a small town, this resort is highly recommended where just a few minutes walk away from town center. We would like to rate this a 9.

we book a deluxe room (bangalow) with large and private. everything is satisfactory so i had no second thoughts of extending my stay. room comfortable and clean with simple amenities. staffs are nice. i will stay here again once back to fang.

Cute little resort, extreme friendly owners”
Actually we wanted to stay near Doi Angkang but it seemed that every hotel up in the mountain were fully booked so we booked this resort instead and we appreciated our stay. The room furnishes in a local style; wooden furnitures and local clothes. I love the salad which we had for breakfasts the most. Huge hydroponic salads with homemade lemon-pepper dressing cream was the tasty veggie dish I have ever had! The owners also manage the car for us to visit Doi Angkang and the driver was really nice and polite and of course, good driving.

Well appointed bungalow in a private location”
A new resort, simple in features, but with a concentration on comfort and cleanliness in the rooms - individual and modern styled bungalows. The resort is small - only 6 rooms - and therefore well suited to both privacy and personal attention by the on-site managers. It is well located in a quiet street very close to Fang's town centre and also Government business precinct.

Good resort - if you can find it”
Staff helpful and friendly. Accommodation clean and with usual amenities including wifi. Only problem was finding the place. The address given by Agoda 382 Chiang Mai - Fang road was incorrect. Would be a good idea to have a largescale map on the hotel website.

a lot of locals stay at this resort. it was very far from the city chiang mai and the airport (do not get confused between chiang mai city and chiang mai province). nice clean bedrooms, air conditionning, desk and shower included. friendly staff willing to help and practice their english.

Great for a small group”
We were a group of middle aged couples, this was quiet and clean - individual units in a garden close to the centre of town. The recommendation for dinner was great. We enjoyed our trip up to Doi Ang Kang from Fang.

Small charming family run boutique garden hotel ”
While a number of larger hotels in the city look impressive from the outside, I must admit that I appreciated the intimacy and layout of this smaller operation with its quiet surroundings and comfortable accommodation. A good nights sleep and a tasty breakfast followed by a stroll in the garden is a good way tomstart any travel,day.
