Perfect for the ferry that’s close by. Room was average with no aircon but the view around the area was great, staff was nice, bed was decent. Good for a night

Far away from town, but very charming, clean rooms”
We stayed at Wanghin Bungalow so we were able to catch an early ferry from Don Sak Pier the next morning. While the resort has no beach (you can probably jump over the retaining wall to swim though), the bungalows are very cute and clean. It was one of the only places in all of Thailand that had a somewhat separate shower from the rest of the bathroom. For what we paid it was absolutely wonderful. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Comfortable stay before heading for the islands”
We arrived on Suratthani airport in the evening and were hoping to get to the bungalow quick. There was no public transport available anymore so we had to take a taxi for 1800 baht (45 euro's), which took 1,5 hours. Wanghin Bungalows are nice, basic bungalows near the ferry for a very reasonable price. The staff gave us a free shuttle to the ferry (which was only a 3 minute drive away). They helped us buy the tickets to Ko Phangan as well.

Beatiful cottages on the coast”
I booked this hotel because it is less than 1km from the Don Sak Pier, which is the take-off point for ferries to Koh Samui. This seems to be a common use of this hotel, which is unfortunate because it seems to be worth staying at of its own accord! They have individual cottages on a hillside sloping down to the sea. I arrived late at night, but the staff were expecting me (they asked if I had booked on Agoda). Although it was past 11pm, they were extremely hospitable, and offered me food. The Tom Yam soup was very tasty, but expensive. I had to catch the ferry at 10am the next morning. At 9:30am they were at my door, ready to help load my luggage and drive me to the pier. Alas I didn't do much in this hotel other than sleep the night, but if I am in that area again I will seriously consider staying longer and holidayhing at the hotel

Friendly service in family run bungalows”
i arrived at wanghin during the slowest of the slow off season in this area. i received top customer service from the moment i arrived, including dinner, friendly chit-chat and even a motorbike ride to the pier in the morning. i would recommend these bungalows for anyone who needs to break up the long journey to koh samui.

Handy for overnight stay on way to islands”
wanghin bungalow is a very low key family run place standing alone on a headland within walking distance of lompreyah pier. the family are delightful and very friendly and can offer you a limited selection of home cooked meals and some refridgerated items adequate for an overnight stay. the hillside bungalows are comfortable and have lovely views over the tidal bay. it's a good time to sit back and relax while waiting for the ferry, and watch the local fishermen and women working their nets and boats. while not a holiday destination it is certainly a good stopover place where you will be looked after to the best of the family's ability. we enjoyed and appreciated our stay.

Had a one nights stay at wanghin bungalows which was very pleasant. The room is quite small but has a modern feel to it and very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great location and super-accommodating staff”
We had a really long journey to get to Surat Thani and we didn't feel like dealing with a ferry journey to the islands late at night so we decided to stay in Donsak for the night. A shuttle service dropped us off at the bungalows and as soon as we arrived the staff asked us if we had eaten (we were ravenous) and within five minutes of our arrival we had been shown to our bungalow and had been provided with room service: drinks and a delicious meal. The bungalows are basic but pleasant, with aircon and TV which had some English movie channels. The staff also arranged to drop us off at the pier the next morning and we had breakfast room service as well. All in all I cannot fault it; and the location is fantastic to get to the islands. A ticket to Ko Phangan cost us 350 baht each and took a bit over an hour. The price is so reasonable and it was very convenient for us.

Pretty little spot with good views”
I only stayed one night. I would be coming from Koh Phagnan and going to Khao Sok and I didn't want to risk missing the bus to Khao Sok. It was great for one night but definitely not a touristy place. The internet worked well. The view was pretty right on water overlooking the mountains across sort of a bay. There wasn't any beach to swim on though but the sunrise was great if you're able to get up about 6am. The people spoke very basic English but were incredibly helpful. They made phone calls and figured everything out for me to get to Khao Sok. Also, I never did find an English sign to the hotel so if you can't read Thai don't try to find it on your own. I took a motorci from the Don Sak pier which was 100 baht. The food was tasty but very Thai. I had the Green Chicken Curry and the while delicious, it had bones in the meat like at many Thai markets. However it would be quite a walk to get to any other food places so it did the job.

Comfortable & quiet”
Good and suitable for our requirements as we have never been to Don Sak before it was a bit 'off the beaten track' but as I said we chose it because it advertised being close to the ferry terminal

comfortable”
Wang Hin Bungalows Wang Hin Bungalows is conveniently located if you are travelling by car and provides inexpensive chalets (both air-conditioned or fan rooms) and is close to the car ferries linking the mainland and Ko Samui providing guests with a fine view overlooking the Gulf of Thailand. You can doze off to sleep secure in the knowledge that you are now less than a 10-minute drive from either the Seatran or the Raja car ferries that will take you across to Samui in the morning. The surroundings are nice with some impressive statues scattered around the property while the rooms are fairly basic, but comfortable. The hotel staff can prepare a breakfast for you delivered to your balcony overlooking the bay below.

Nice view facing the sea”
Lucky my wife can speak Thai and manage to divert to get this hotel. The room was good where it was a nice seaview and the wind was excellent. During night time you can have some beers and light snack sitting at the terrance to enjoy your night. If you are not driving, better get the hotel transport inadvance.

Good place to sleep over before you go to the boat”
The property is 5 min from the Donsak pier. Otherwise it's quite remote from the village or Town. You need to take a taxi or some other transportation to come to the town. So a lot to do you don't have hier. But it's very peaceful. And water is also not for swimming. Its dirty and not so gut approachable. The internet connection wasn't working. They have two different wlans, but none of them worked. It was very inconvenient, becouse we rent this bungalow also becouse of internet, that we can plan our trip. What we did find gut, was the room. It was big, clean, toilet and shower were also more or less clean. It had ventilator and AC and the bed was also gut. It was not like sleeping on a wooden plate, like on the most places in Thailand. And the the owners came to peek us up on the arrival and they drove us to the peer. Becouse of the wind we had to go to another pier. So pay attention from where are you leaving, becouse we booked the boat on Internet and they didn't informed us.

Good for the price.”
Location is 100 km from the Surat Thani airport and transportation from the airport to the hotel costs 1500 Baht ($50). The bungalows are very basic but you really can't expect more for the price. Breakfast pastries consists of something resembling Twinkies but the eggs are good and fresh. Looked like a one man operation to us, but he was anxious to please. Get up early to enjoy an amazing sunrise! Beds are extremely hard. Good for one night!

Great for transport to boat pier for koh phangan”
2 min ride from the boat pier for ferries to koh Saumi and koh phangan, was given a lift on motor bike with side cart from bungalow to pier free of charge. Remote location, around an hours drive from Surat Thani, no shops etc near. No resturant available on site, or Internet. Rooms were clean though very basic. Tv and air con in room. No deposit or safety box, and only cold shower. We were two females traveling on our own, we arrived just before midnight and were shown straight to our room. We had an incident occur with two young boys outside our bungalow just after arriving with them wanting to look and come inside our bungalow. Staff were extremely helpful with our concerns about safety when alerted to what was happening. And even made a scout of area to reassure us of safety. There was a language barrier with the staff only speaking very basic English. Cheap accommodation, and decent for price. Though if security is your main concern I would not recommend it as a lone traveler.
