Booked suite - very clean and spacious ; definitively much larger than 30m2 ( probably 55m2) ; very comfortable beds; walking distance to Sunday (only) Market by the river. Not much else in area

marvelous room with reasonable price”
I rode motorcycle here, not easy to cross the road because of traffic. Not many restaurants can find nearby. The building and the room is like 5-stars hotel. My room is facing the swimming pool, so it’s a bit noisy. Breakfast is abundant and cheap. My relative passed away the day I checked in, so I could not continue staying ,I called the hotel booking site and they refunded me one night, which I am deeply appreciated, next time I come, I will choose the hotel again.

It has a fantastic pool, but sadly the hotel is showing its age and needs a refit - a bit dated looking and worn out fixtures etc. But still, nice staff and facilities and pretty well located in the town.

pool very deep and dangerous ”
I almost die here, I swam as usual, prepared and exercised, when I go half distance, I always has no power and have to stand up, this time I found the water so deep, I struggled, I sank and choked, only in a few seconds I would gone! A lady who was sweeping the garden didn’t even take a look, how lonely I was. I found the depth of pool is 2.6 meters, no warning sign but only written in bulletin board, I may presume many old people like me already died in the pool. that’s extremely dangerous, please don’t swim here alone, watch the sign and look around very carefully for your own safety.

This is a former princess of a hotel. It needs tender, loving care. The air conditioning sounds like a long-tail boat, some of the rooms smell like old Bangkok taxis. The restaurant was excellent, the menu was a great value and choices on the menu were wide and varied.

Last time the hotel put in a new renovated room which was nice but upon requesting for the new renovated one the staff just gave me a very old room which was very upset.

Did not get the booked king size bed. Reception staff acted like prison guard. No hot water for shower. Aircon very loud. Drainage in shower blocked. Bathroom very very dirty. We called back to complain, the manager never got back to us! We stayed at wangtai many times, but this time was beyond anything we have seen...

GOOD OLD-FASHIONED SERVICE”
Wangtai is an older style hotel, but everything is well maintained; the rooms are quite spacious, very comfy bed, powerful shower with plenty of hot water and efficient, quiet air conditioning, nicely positioned so it doesn't blow on your face all night long. Service in the restaurant and coffee shop was great, and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Will definitely return.

Perfect for the purpose”
We stayed one night at the Wangtai on the recommendation of the proprietors of Jungleyoga.com. It was perfect for the purpose - a one night layover between returning from Koh Phangan and departing for the Khao Sok National Park. The front desk staff were cordial if not overtly friendly. The room exceeded our expectations. We had not asked for anything in particular but were given a large room with a sitting area that made the room quite comfortable. The restaurant staff was a bit more open and engaging, proud to display their English-speaking skills and quite encouraging of our feable attempts to speak Thai. The breakfast included in the cost of the room comprised an extensive buffet with many delicious options ranging from traditional Thai delights to traditional American eggs and sausage. The small sundry store was a bit disappointing, but we were not there to shop so it did not detract from our experience.

Old hotel but great service and wonderful massages”
This hotel has a beautiful lobby and are baggage was quickly attended to by porters once we exited ghe cab. The front desk expected us and had our reservation ready to go (the first time this has happened in 4 weeks if travelling). Check in was smooth though we had to pay extra for my breakfast since our occupancy was booked for only 1,not 2 on their system. The rooms are dated but clean and I always got a great sleep. There were no bugs in our room but a few large, slow mosquitoes in the lobby. I really enjoyed my Thai food in the restaurant and ate there many times. The service was great consistently for my husband and I. Breakfast is good too with a mix of thai and western foods, so you should be able to find something you will enjoy. The pool is sizable and refreshing. Massages were outstanding, we had 4 between my husband and I, all around 300 baht. They go very hard so you may be quite sore the next day, keep that in mind if you're flying. Our laundry service was efficient and undergarments were folded in packaged together in cellophane bags, while our larger items were all ironed, hung, and placed in our room wardrobes later that afternoon. Prices are per piece, not weight, and laundry staff did not speak English but were friendly and helpful nonetheless. Much of the staff speaks very little English but we had no problems getting our needs met. This hotel also has a large number of thai guests who are travelling as well. Take a tuk tuk for 15-20 baht per person to the night market if you'd like some street food. The area has other restaurants and western food in the area too. Overall, it's convenient having the pool, massage, and restaurant all under one roof. Great value for the money.
