Me and my teenage daughter loved the raddison red our room was very modern the super hero theme is Amazing and our room was.very spacious and very clean the toilet was massive, loved the shower. We were top floor so we had a view. We also loved the sky bar which u must see if staying at this hotel.The beds have to be one of the best I've slept in and I'd definitely recommend the breakfast, you'll not need to eat anything else all day so much variety from crossiants to cereal to full English. This is also a dog freindly hotel so next time we will be bringing ours, not that we saw many dogs at all. All in all I'd highly recommend this hotel it's modern has Amazing rooms food is lovely and the staff really can't do enough for you, so freindly .we will be coming back

We booked this hotel due to its proximity to the hydro as my friend has some mobility issues. We asked for a ground floor room and we got this. It was clean, comfortable and plenty hit water. No hand towels though, we had to ask. No glass to put your toothbrush in. I rated the staff good. I just felt we didn't get a warm welcome on arrival. Receptionist wasn't unpleasant but rather corporate. A nice smile and good afternoon wouldn't have gone amiss. This stopped m giving 5 stars to staff. Quite happy to pay for my breakfast, good quality, and plenty of choice. But having to pay for wifi? Really? In this day and age?

Like some other reviewers, I have a sense of unfairness about some of the reviews I read before booking a three night stay in Smiths Hotel. I rang the hotel after booking and they were most accommodating in granting my requests. There were a couple of things that needed putting right when we arrived: these were sorted efficiently and quickly. We found that there was absolutely no communications issue with any of the staff; they were cheerful, obliging and efficient. The hotel is a very short walk from the Kelvingrove, and we were able to walk easily to the city centre and the Byres Road area. (If not, there are buses. Public transport in Glasgow is superb.) Our room (42) was comfortable and spacious. We opted for an en-suite room, and the facilities in the room were really good: kettle, hairdryer, TV, everything clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent: plentiful, tasty and freshly cooked. We felt that the hotel scored very highly on value for money. If you want a five-star hotel, pay a five-star price. If what you want is a bargain, stay here.

only thing missing form this hotel was the mini-bar. although the hotel bar is great! nice confortable stay. i've stayed here a few times now, and will always stay here when having meetings in glasgows west end. there is a nice italian just next door, and its a stones throw away from the main drinking area.

Though not in the heart of the city centre, the hotel is in easy transportation distance to Merchant City & the West End. The hotel is right next to a new developing area with the convention centre and new stadium next door. The best thing about the hotel is that it's right next to the river and if it's nice outside you can relax on the massive deck.

Booked this hotel last minute and for under £35 got a clean, quiet, single ensuite room with a decent cooked breakfast. Also tea and coffee were supplied in my room which was great. All staff I dealt with were friendly and helpful, location was excellent as I wanted to be based in the West End of Glasgow. Would recommend to other travellers who don't want to pay a fortune for a night's sleep.

Polite, friendly staff gave us a warm welcome on arrival. Our room, which was clean, tidy and comfortable, looked out onto the main road, however, we slept soundly all through each night of our stay. Location suited us as we wanted to visit areas east and west of the hotel location. Quiet enough for peace, but with close vicinity to the city centre and the west end of the city. We enjoyed our stay and will return in future.

It was very clean, the bed and shower was perfect. It was excellent for my stay, we got a triple room though we booked double room, v much happy. And will stay again in future when I am in need .

I have stayed here several times down the years and it never disappoints, The hotel is clean and comfortable! The staff friendly and helpful, Breajfast is very good and it's in an excellent location for the west end or city centre of Glasgow! I will definitely stay here again in the future! 😉

Smashing little hotel with everything you could need in the heart of the west end Great breakfast and absolutely value for money

Had a most enjoyable few days exploring the museums and sights of Glasgow. Good large apartment [Two bedrooms not one?] clean and meeting our needs. Would I change anything? Perhaps more utensils for self-catering which we do but obviously others don't.

Ideal location in West End, great value for money and comfortable good sized room with what looked like a brand new, pristine ensuite bathroom/ shower.

I enjoyed my stay there was a good sized room and bathroom, even with a room overlooking the main road the traffic was not too noisy at night or in the early morning. As the houses are Grade II listed it is unfortunate that there is no lift and the bedrooms, on the first and second floors can seem a weary climb to the foot sore tourist. The houses are interconnected so it may seem a bit of a maze to get to the breakfast room in the end house. The food is good so it is worth the challenge. I did complain about the weak lights and the fact that internet did not happen in my room, but only at the end. I think the staff would like to help so any complaints should be made earlier in your stay and they will do their best to help.

Best hotel stay yet in UK. Very clean, food exceptional, service was friendly and professional. Located in the West end close to train station worked out perfect. Highly recommended!

My first time in Glasgow for meeting after a short stay in a B&B in London, I felt great staying at Ambassador which was clean and comfy - the British B&B one would imagine. A big thumps up ! Advice : make sure to book for your breakfast one day before if it is not part of your booking.

Really impressed with this hotel especially with value for money for single room requirements. My brother and I booked 2 single rooms here on the evening of 03 October for an overnight after attending Jeff Lynn’s ELO concert at the Hydro that same evening. There were plenty of places to eat within walking distance and the Hydro was a short cab ride away costing only £4.20! The area was quiet and the room and bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was cooked to order and was exceptional! Our host - Alan - was brilliant and extremely helpful - the perfect host and a great ambassador for Glasgow’s hospitality industry. Would recommend to any traveller - top marks .

probably wasnt the best of hotels to go with as it wasnt that close to where my meeting was in the west end. but the quaility of the hotel was great. i couldnt really fault it, i never tried any of the facilities as a literally just arrived, showered, sleep, showered and checked out.

Great location for West End of City easy access to public transport .Breakfast plentiful and well cooked served by pleasant staff. Room small but comfy clean bed shared large bathroom. Great price with breakfast included this hotel is excellent value for a couple of nights stopover in Glasgow .

Very clean facilities, quiet at night as the property is away from traffic, and very helpful staff. The outlook is very beautiful. Suitable for family trip. Very recommended for backpackers who bring their own rice cooker and love to prepare meal by themselves just like us because the kitchen is perfect! 🤣 I would rate it 5 stars out of 5. Definitely will come back again when i visit scotland.

Loved our time in this charming guest house or bed and breakfast. So much better than the typical Hilton hotel. The breakfast was first class, made to order and yummy. We will be staying there again and sending our friends as well.

was really impressed at the nice room, lots of character, cosy and comfortabl, small but 20x nicer than the big chain hotels in Glasgow, had character and id be happy to stay there again. got very good deal, might be a bit steep if normal price given its not in the town centre but ill recommend it for friends needing somewhere in west end, i really liked it!

Excellent stay! Very welcoming and helpful front office with lots of suggestions for where to eat, grocery stores, and ATM locations. He also pouted out local sights and where to go to catch the subway. Subway in Glasgow is very easy and the nearest stop is very short walk from the hotel. Really great restaurants also within easy walking distance.

Our stay in Glasgow was short, but made complete by the staff and location of the Argyll Guest House. The room was large, very clean, and just right for our family. I would recommend without reservation for anyone needing to stay near the museums or the university. Really enjoyed the guest house. Staff was exceptionally informative and friendly. Among the best staffs we enjoyed during a three week stay in the UK.

Very easy check in process and comfortable stay. For the price the rooms are well presented and roomy. Although a 20 minute walk from the city centre, the West End area of Glasgow has the most to offer for visitors I believe, containing many gorgeous old buildings and numerous independent bars, cafes and restaurants. Only 100m away is the fantastic Kelvingrove Park.

Great location for West End. we were ther for a graduation and it was very close to the university, It is five mins walk from the Hunterian Museum and Kelvingrove Art Gallery and is surrounded by great eating places, bars and cafes. The Hotel is spotless and good value for money without any frills. Full Scottish breakfast is good vlaue for £10.00 which inclludes the all you can eat buffet with the usual cereals toast etc.. Beds comforatble enough but would benefit from more generous duvets! They only just covered the top of our double bed bit like a lid and were also short, which is not the best on a November night! Would stay again.

Ok, so we asked for a quiet room and it was. This shouldn’t need to come at the price of a room with so little space that it was difficult to pass the end of the (uncomfortable) bed without dislodging the wall mounted TV. I apologise for stooping (something you couldn’t do in the tiny shower) so low, but it was impossible to sit on the toilet with the bathroom door closed. There was not room to bend down to wet my face to shave. This was not compact and bijou, Mostyn; it was cramped. The towels (only one set provided) were dire; barely large enough to wrap around a not particularly huge waist, and not too far shy of threadbare. It was, however, quiet. The hotel is perfectly situated for the West End and university, the staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good. But unless you are intending to spend your trip to Glasgow in a state of such drunkenness that you don’t notice the room, find somewhere else.
