Yote flashpackers is one of the best hostels I've stayed in. Great location n place but what really makes your stay is the owner yone. she's goes out of her way to make sure u meet other guests. Also her husband recommended great places to eat and even drove to to floating mosque for sunset, dropped me to bus station when leaving and was great with advice and where to stay in kl.I can't recommend this lovely, great value for money hostel. WiFi pretty good too! Stay here you won't regret it

Best hostel and best owner!”
Everything about this place was great! The place is new and beautiful, with a small lobby/bar and a relaxing games/tv space. Around the hostel there's lots of good places to eat and its 10 min walking from the Chinatown centre. Yone, the owner, is amazing! She made my short stay special by just being herself and also inviting to take a few of us to see a beautiful sunset at a floating mosque, and then a great dinner! It felt like being among friends, and I guess it end up being exactly that... (Thank you for everything!) Stay at Yote!!

Great budget hostel”
Spent two nights here. Was a bit quiet but that also means you automatically talk with everyone thats there. Staff is really friendly, good security with an electronic front door and lockers in the bedroom. Kitchen if you want to cook yourself and chillout with a big flatscreen and a ps4 (although selection in media is limited). Spacious and clean rooms with aircondition not limited to any schedule. Beds are very high which allows for ebough space to put you bags under but for upper bunks a bit of a climb. Showers have good pressure and can be very hot if required. Location could be better but the center is all very walkable with most within a 5-10 min radius. Occassionaly noticed some bad smells from the sewer but that was something more common throughout the city. Had a great stay and would definitely come back.

Clean, convenient and the staff was great!”
The newly renovated hostel was very clean and just a short walk away from city center. The hospitallity and helpfullness of the owner and the staff was really good. Bought us breakfast one day, strawberries and apples another, and we always had free access to tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The owner also arranged it for us to watch a movie, and when we were leaving she drove us to the busstation. Thank you for a great stay!

Great location & nice place”
Great location. It is just 10 to 15 mins walk to Jonker street & Dutch square. The staff is nice. He lead me to my room. & show me all the facilities that I can use. The room is clean as they change the bedsheet & pillowcase everyday. I though the toilet/bathroom for this kind of cheap hostel will be disaster. To my surprise, it is very clean. You can totally enjoy your shower & "business". The door of the hostel is secured by number lock. There is no worry about security or returning late. In addition, every customer is provided with a locker to keep their valuables which is very important to me. Of course, the are few areas that can be improved. The Upperdeck is too high. I have a hard time climbing up & down especially during the night. The aircon is in the middle so I can only feel the coolness in the late night. For the price of S$10 per night to enjoy such good facilities & additional facilities like netflix, PS4 & a small kitchen, it is worthwhile. Will recommend to friends.

Recommendable budget hostel”
The hostel is located outside of the city center but still in walking distance to it. Staff was very nice and so was the compimentary breakfast. Only negative point is that the dorm is adjacent to the patio with the common space. Hence there was a lot of noise late in the evening.

Totally loved it!”
Yona and Terrance ( if I rememered the names right) were super welcoming and helpful! They have a lovely common area where you can chill and chat. Not located in the touristy old town area (approx 5 min walking distance)so you could experience and see the city a bit closer as the locals do. Rooms are also clean and nice. Totally loved my time here. Thanks again and love you guys :) Anning

Worth for money, clean and tidy”
Spend RM30 for a clean and tidy room is totally worth it! I love the cleanliness and how spacious the room and comfortable mattress and comforter they provide. The hostel also located at nice chinese village and out of city a bit, but less busy and chaos. So calm and quite at night.

flash for a good price”
We got here with a promotional price. The place is only open for about a week, it has a very nice design, clean and good facilities and AC in the rooms, which is handy. It has a lot of local food around, and a market to get your malay breakfast. Also nice to chill out and watch a movies (but still need some sofas :)). We even got a lift to the bus station!

One of the best hostels in Asia so far!”
This was one of the best hostels we have stayed in so far in Asia in 5 months! The hostel is brand new and super clean. Dorm beds are comfortable and the A/C is very good. The staff is super friendly and helpful! The owners brought us to a local restaurant for dinner (we were the only tourists) and the food was so good. Breakfast is nice (yoghurt, oatmeal, granola, coffee and tea) and cheap. We really enjoyed the large TV in the common area with Netflix and a PS4 (+FIFA!). They have cold beers for a reasonable price as well! We would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

This was such a great place to stay! It's super close to the center of Melaka (like a 2-3 minute walk to the Dutch settlement). The staff was super friendly and helpful. The place itself is really cozy and has a nice area to chill out. Overall, I was very happy with it!

This was a very nice spot, just outside of the most trafficked area. Just a 5-10 minute walk and your in the most touristic area. 5 minutes away from the old Chinese cemetery, which is a wonderful place to walk and a nice view point of the city too. Owner and staff were great; laid back and way going.

My overall experience here has exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended. I would definitely come again. The owners are a very friendly couple who are approachable and pleasant to talk to. Everything about their place is excellent. Beautiful Malay-inspired interiors that gives a very welcoming and cozy atmosphere. I stayed in the rather spacious double room alone. Very comfortable bed and conducive to relax and sleep. Everything in this place is clean and in order, including the air con and water heater and water pressure of the shower head in the bathroom. Also, this place is of only about 10 minute walk from a lot of the commonly visited tourist attractions and food places. You will not be disappointed. :)

I initially booked for a night-stay but decided to prolong my stay for another night. The location is great, only a walking distance (5-10 mins) from tourist attractions like museums & Jonker Walk. The place ks very clean and tidym Air conditioner worked fine. The toilet & shower room for dormitory residents are decent and satisfying. The ambience is warm and welcoming, and the host is friendly and helpful. Definitely and highly recommended especially for solo travellers! Love this place!

Value for money + Super friendly host”
Stayed in 4-bed female dorm. Everything is great, clean room clean shared bathroom/toilet short walk to Jonker Street....except the room is downstairs of wooden floor, so it is not soundproof at all. You can hear TV next door in the living room and people walking upstairs. Lady host is very friendly and easy going, trying to help out in whatever she can.

Flashpacker? I don’t think so!”
The hostel was locked when I arrived & no staff. I eventually rang the bell, & a guest let me in. There was a sign out front that said to use the phone to call, & an arrow pointing to where you could reach it through the bars but there was no phone. The booking said breakfast was included but it wasn’t. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom & I had to go find it in a box. Nothing was cleaned when I was there. The shower was filthy. There were no bins or lockers. When a young man finally showed up & told me there was no breakfast included he said the coffee was free. I showed him the three packets of unopened coffee beans & asked how was I supposed to make coffee if I could not grind the beans. There was no coffee grinder. I stayed for three nights &the young man was hardly there & when he was he lay on a mattress & watched TV. I have read all the glowing reviews about Yote Flashpackers. They must be lies.
