I was assigned a dormitory room, which was not what I originally wanted. Staff were amazing and changed my room to a private one. A little noisy for my liking but other than that a great stay It was clean and locked close to tourist attractions. Recommended Generator Barcelona

They had an issue with the booking system which made me change rooms in the middle of the night. Staff wasn't very friendly but helped me with solving the problem. Overall a cool Hostel though

the room was fine but the shower and toilet were tiny. i couldn't bent down in the shower, it is too small. toilet is the same, you have to keep your back straight if you dont want to kiss the wall. if youre the last to wake up, the toilet paper will always be out already. the bed is comfortable but very short. im only 1.67m but couldn't stretch out my legs. the bunk above you has holes in it so al the dust from the matress above you will fall down on you. i spend the whole week sneezing like crazy. i witnessed cleaning multiple times and it was done badly. the only clean the floors and the toilet. any contact service is left untouched(the tap, doorhandles lockers under the bed etc.) they have parties that go on very loudly until 3 am, so i couldn't sleep even though i had to leave at 8 the next morning. i was in a female only dorm but suddenly a man had been assigned the room. now we could fix it but what if this man had come in when one of the girls was changing or when we were sleeping? very uncomfertable. the location of the hostel is very nice and the staff i spoke to were friendly but this place simply has too many problems

Avoid, costly and unorganised”
First of all they charge for every damn thing. Rooms are expensive comparatively. Staff accepts booking only if card is in your name otherwise it’s a hustle. Lockers broken and for everything from towels to toiletries you need to pay.

The biggest mistake is that I booked in this place... it is not a service in the inquiries, especially the manager in charge in the hotels ( generators Barcelona) They opened the locker that was closed and containing my bags and the passport from one of the hotel workers and this is an unsafe place it was a big It's a big risk that my bags will disappear and my Danish passport will be stolen from this hostel ( generator Barcelona) the most bad place I ever stay in my hole life / never again

Generator Barcelona is a 7-10min walk from the metro. Although the neighborhood seems dark and quiet at night, it’s extremely safe. There’s also a lot of nearby 24hr convenience stores near the area. The rooms were cleaned regularly, and so were the bathrooms. The staff was nice and accommodating. Tried asking for a bottom bunk for my shared room, and they gladly gave me one (this makes all the difference to me). My only issue is that the elevator can be slow sometimes - can be troublesome of you’re rushing for something. But overall, Generator Hostels never seems to fail me. It’s always my go-to hostel whenever I go to Europe, and Generator Barcelona kept that reputation.

Cool hostel in a great part of town”
Took my 10 yr old niece for 3 days and she loved the cool decor, games room and funky lounge. We had a Deluxe Twin Room and I realise this is a hostel, but it was very noisy. Security are very good at keeping the peace, but the walls are very thin. Great restaurant, close to good bus routes and clean and tidy throughout. Staff are friendly and it's a great way to see Barcelona at a reasonable price.

In the middle of tourist spots and shopping area, quite convenient. Must go to rooftop to snap some pics of Barcelona, the view is great! A petite lady staff is very helpful, putting herself in your shoes to help, an amazing customer experience.

Enjoyed it a lot. Plan to stay again. There's a great restaurant a block down on Bruc named Clares. It's a great base to explore Barcelona from, especially if you don't mind walking a bit.

Clean and with good vibes”
The room was clean and the services they offered (tapas night, paella night, portable wifi) were all reasonably priced. The staff were all helpful. I just find the location a bit far from the metro station, but i think there is a bus stop near the hostel.

Worth the price”
Price was a surprise, clean and easy to find, everything was OK, except I chose a mixed dorm, and they arranged me in a room which all the roommates are male, felt kind of wired . And the bar was noisy at night, with drunk teenagers all around.
