Pros: location, cleanliness and warmest hospitality. Cons: less varian of breakfast and tasteless. Honestly, this term totally disappointed for us since Aston is one of stars Hotel. Overall, I kindly suggest for staying at this hotel without breakfast and please do buy your own mineral water because we ask to buy for even 1 of mineral water bottle in any urgent needed.

I didn't expect much from a homestay/B&B usually, plus this place is quite cheap, so I was thinking, "Oh well, as long as I have a bed and shower." But when I arrived, boy oh boy was I blown away. The rooms are like cottages/bungalows, with traditional design but modern amenities. Semi outdoor shower (with hot water), modern toilet, everything is clean. They have a lounge area where you can just chill, and a shared kitchen where you can cook. Fridge full of all kinds of drinks you can just grab (write your name on a list and pay when you check out). Breakfast is pancake (yummy) but you can also order egg. Location is not too far from Karangasem train station, but to go around you still need a taxi. This will be easily arranged by Maya & Djoko, the lovely owners. In fact, they can arrange everything you wanna do while in Banyuwangi. We had Ijen tour and Menjangan snorkeling tour arranged by them, with affordable price and top notch quality. Not so easy to get food nearby, but they provide delivery service. There's a menu you can choose from, and they will order it for you. All yummy and cheap! Maya and Djoko are amazing hosts as well. Super friendly, very helpful, speak perfect English. She contacted me on WhatsApp the morning before I arrived, to arrange my pickup from the station. We stayed only for 2 nights but next time I come to Banyuwangi I will not even bother to find other accommodation. Didu's Homestay has everything I need (and more).

You can absolutely not ask for more from the wonderful family at this homestay. If you want to explore East Java, stay here. The home is very nice, breakfast was amazing and it's in a very nice location. In the group I was with at Ijen, I got the best deal out of everyone. Tell them wherever you want to go, like Red Island, they will make it happen and for the best deal anywhere. I will always compare other homestays to their amazing hospitality 🙂

The owner is friendly and helpful. The location is opposite the train station. There's stall in front of the homestay. You can buy drink, snack, toiletries and even food from the stall. You can also rent motor easily because the shop is just right beside the homestay. Convenient! Cheap and clean room, friendly and helpful owner, convenient location, what else do you need in a trip?

Horrible! Worst stay during our whole trip through indonesia... The Hotel is really far away from everything and the Taxi Driver didnt know the place.the People might be Nice but they dont speak any english at all!the outside pictures just show the restaurant in front of the rooms. The room was very very dirty espacially the bathroom!The room itself and the bathroom smelled Really bad, shower was just cold water and really poor pressure with no shower head at all! In the evening they had some huge and noisy party in the Restaurant at Front, very hard to get some sleep... The breakfast was a real joke... 2 burned slices of Toast, put together with chocolate sauce in between and granted Cheese!! On top!! Disgusting! And with it tea so sweet you Couldnt Drink it!! And all this for a lot of money compared to what we Found in other places... Just do yourself a favour and dont go there!!

The location is quite good, but there are plenty of other Homestays next to each other, so make sure you check other options there. The room itself was alright not to mention dirty pillows and used bedding. It wasn't clean! When we tried to get to Ketapang, the Receptionist tried to sell us to his friend for 10 times the price!!! So be very careful! They will use you! Woman from another Homestay said it should be no more than 8000 IDR pp to go with Bemo, we asked for help in Reception, he got fo his friend who asked 100000 IDR for a Bemo ride! We got the train @6pm for 8000 IDR pp in the end. The Receptionist was just laughting with his friend! No help at all!

We did not stay long at Banyuwangi Village II. We met their staff and decided to stay at one of their other location. The reason was because Banyuwangi Village II was a bit more "remote" and the location at their main office: Java Sunrise Homestay, had more rooms (therefore more opportunities to meet other travelers). One of the staff member was very welcoming and helpful! He educated us on their culture, showed us the best places to eat, helped us book our train, and kept us entertained throughout our stay. Very friendly experience and would definitely stay here again if the staff member is still present at the location. Thanks for your help Sendy!

We stayed here for 4 nights and it was a really nice guesthouses. Everything was clean and comfortable. There is not hot water in tge shower but it is not too cold, really nice temperature. The staff is really friendly and helpful, we booked a tour for Mount Ijen for 275.000 per person and there was nothing to complain about! Every morning we got fresh made Mie Goreng and Coffee or Tea, very delicious! The staff also gave us a lift to the train station at 4am which was really nice of them. We can totally recommend to stay here!
