The location is quite close to the Borobudur temple if you plan to visit the temple. The Hotel is clean, comfort but quite remote from the main city. The closest town is Magelang which is about 15 mins drive. If you there, you should try the spa treatment or the massage. In term of improvement; 1. The management should take care of the maintenance around the place. 2. Foods served at the cafe can be improved. 3. Local guides or map.

enjoyed my stay at Graharu, the room was fine, wifi good, tv local channels, gardens lovely... however, as it is rather isolated for those who are not willing or able to use motorised transport, the food options in the restaurant are *very* limited if you stay more than one night... surely saté at least could be offered... i know there are local warungs near by, but walking at night on one's own can be daunting... on the upside, the willingness of the staff to get up at 4 in the morning to guide me to the Borobodur temple was lovely... i rode a pushbike behind the young guy, and it was great fun... once in a life time experience, and Graharu made it a wonderful time... hopefully one day they will have a pool... would be a 4 star stay then :)

Quiet Stay near a Kampong ”
Great, for location wise please be wary as it is located at the sides of Borobudur. To reach the destination please contact the staff of the hotel they will provide direction for your taxi driver or driver to transfer you there. They do provide airport transfer as well please contact the staff. You will be shock when you make your way in, but will be amaze with what the hotel can offer. More than a two stars hotel with friendly staff and big rooms. Food has a taste of local food although most of the staff only can speak their own language and not english they go for the extra mile by trying to fulfill your needs. Overall a very pleasant stay at this hotel, will definitely come back for this hotel in the near future.

Nice Traditional Hotel near Borobudur ”
The staff are friendly & helpful. They take us to see sunrise on the hills near the hotel. After our visit to Borobudur We arrived 30 minutes after the breakfast time, and they still ask us if we want our breakfast. And give us more time to relax and very late checkout that day. Thx u Graharu!

Hotel with a nice garden”
Don't judge this hotel by it's outlook and front-desk. You will see a beautiful garden when you pass the frontdesk to your room. But please don't expect your room is as nice as those luxury hotel, it's just value for money and comfort stay for night. Not a hotel with spa. It's partnered with an spa center which need 10 minuets walk away from the hotel. However, you may choose to have your massage session in your room without additional charge. Masseur is good and professional. This hotel have a little restaurant which provide limited choice of food in it's menu but at least it's enough to fill our stomach. Price is reasonable. Fried rice and fried noodle is good! Not to forget this hotel plants a lot of Rambutan tree which the staff will harvest the Rambutan fruits in the early morning and complementary for hotel guest. Lastly, it's near to Borobudur, so you no need to travel in the very early morning from Jogja town to Borobudur!

Amazing staff saw to it so that we got the most of our time. They rent bikes to explore the area and were very excided about their local village dancers. If they offer you opportunity to see the dancer (I think it's quite rare tough) go. All in all Borobudur is much more than temple, so I'll suggest to stay at least couple nights.

Came here with my friend at May 2017. A quiet hotel in the village, enjoy the nature taste and rest calmly with only 300k IDR++. The bedroom and bathroom are clean, good AC and water heater, good amenities and wifi. I ordered Indome while in here with reasonable price for dinner, breakfast are average but not bad. The staff are very helpfull, they escort us to Punthuk Setumbu to watch the sunrise at 4 in the morning. Highly recommend it and certainly will come back here for my another "city and routinity" escape trip.

Tranquil and relaxing escape.”
Picked up an offseason bargain - for less than 300,000 rupiah I expected a simple backpacking lodge and ended up in relatively luxury with a grand spacious room, fantastic bed and great service in this tranquil spot. Staff were fantastic, and very friendly, offering free pickups and transport to bus station and local attractions. Made a great base for hiring bike (60,000 rupiah, decent quality old city bikes) and exploring Borobodur and the surrounding countryside and villages. Javanese massage recommended too. Lovely.

The hotel is tucked into the back corner of a neighborhood. Very quiet and beautiful garden. You need to make arrangements for rides or walking maps and or car to get in and out of the hotel. Have some bahasa handy. They are very limited in english. sometimes they keep saying yes but they did not actually understand. No follow-up. Very limited food choices. Be proactive and be clear with what you expect and need and want to see. So far after taking time to communicate they tried their best to arrange my transport, food, cleanliness of the room and providing laundry rack. Its ok but it goes with the price.

Beautiful and peaseful place”
It was a very plesant stay. The rooms are spacious. It is nice sitting in the restaurant and looking in the garden with the wildlife around. Birds, lizards, dragonflies, butterflies. The staff is friedly. The food is ok but the variation is limited. The day after arrival we have been on hiking tour and the room has not been made up. So for next day we ordered the cleaning which was then properly done. We would stay there again.

A great stay at peaceful village Helpful staf. ”
A bit remote area, but peaceful place to hide if you want to run away form city hectic. Just stay for one night but I've get that feel all staff been so nice and helpful. They offered me help when I mention about my difficulty to get reach to start point for my Borobodur10K running. The next morning at 5am, two staffs of them ready with their motorbike to get me and my friend to running point and later to pick us up. So helpful. Only they have to pay attention in small detail in hotel e.g electricity charger need to re-fix and no connector to refrigerator which is sometimes we need.

They Can Manage It Better”
I was checked in afternoon, a bit late, because I choose the wrong way when used the google gps. Google suggested via small village road. The Location is quietly near the Borobudur Temple, and located in the village, you should pass small alley, and across people houses. The arrangement of the hotel was good, they use some accent, but the condition totally not good. The room was spoiled, leaked mark every where, the bathroom was bad, the wardrobe even has no any door (they took away the door, while the hinges mark still there). No fridge, no room service, no any phone to contact front office so that you should use your phone to call them. The restaurant have limited menus to offer, and not value for money at all, you better go to find some restaurant outside the premise. The staff was friendly and helpful. This the only plus point for this hotel. Perhaps the home stay opposite this premise is better.

The garden is beautiful and the rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable and hot water in the bathrooms. A little away from sights, but bicycles are available as well as other transport. Staff are friendly and helpful.
