Great Location”
This hotel is located just over a quarter mile from La Rambla which makes it a great location. You are right in the middle of the action with shops and cafes a plenty. Plus, you can hop on/off the Metro which will take you wherever you need to go. The staff was very helpful with getting tickets for the various museums and local attractions, and the hotel was very clean. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

Comfortable and good location ”
The hotel is located in the Gothic area so right below and around it are lots of eating places and boutiques/shops. Metro is near so you ca. get anywhere , including Sagrada Familia , the shopping malls very easily . The room is comfortable and clean ; our room had a window view of the back of the Cathedral . The staff is friendly and very very accommodating ! If you’re looking for a place to rest and sleep after a days of touring and shopping , this would be good .

Very touristy location, incredibly thin walla”
This location is right in the middle of one of the most touristy parts of Barcelona and it’s loud until at least 3am. The walls are so thin that you can hear rooms across the hall going to the restroom. The hotel itself is clean and nice, but I would not recommend staying here if you’re looking for a quiet place to sleep.

1 star hotel?”
Appears all fire exits are blocked. No drawers, all of our clothing is in a pile on a 3rd bed we did not request and are otherwise not using. Multiple steps made it difficult to wheel luggage to the room. No coffee maker. Very basic. Would like to move to another hotel but can't figure out if this is possible without paying for both hotels.

With the price I paid for this hotel, I was expecting a lot more. The hotel is certainly not a 4 star. The rooms were small and outdated. The AC barely worked. The cleaning staff would not even bring fresh towels and shampoo on the daily. Overall the hotel is decent, but it’s not what I thought it would be with the price I paid. Certainly not a 4 star, maybe a 3 star. The location and the breakfast buffet were awesome though.

Absolute Best Location! ”
We could not have been happier with our stay! Even if it had been a dump (it was not at all, it was quite nice and we had absolutely zero complaints about the room!) the location would have made up for it. So close to everything! The ONLY down side is that since it is so close to the Barcelona Cathedral, you can hear the bells ringing all night long (and they ring every 15 minutes...). The first couple of nights it woke us up a bit (could have been a combo of bells and jet lag), but after that we got used to it and didn’t even notice them. We loved our stay at the Gran Barcino Hotel and couldn’t recommend it more!

This was our first time visiting Barcelona and staying at the Gran Barcino Hotel. The location is great, the staff were nice and helpful. The room itself was very clean and comfortable (we had a great view as well, so definitely an added bonus!). Definitely worth the money, and will return to this hotel again the next time we are in Barcelona!

Noisy streets”
The staff here were very good. We booked the room the night before and when we arrived we were told they were fully booked! Even though I had already paid for it. It was a public holiday when we booked and arrived so the booking agents couldn't talk to them. They were very nice and found us a room at one of there other much nicer motels about 2 blocks away. We went there and checked in no problems. On our 2nd day they told us they were over booked for our last night there and said we would have to go back to the the Gran Barcino but we could stay one more night if we wanted to. So we did and they gave us a free breakfast for our troubles. We arrived back at the Gran Barcino and they gave us a room. It was on the 2nd floor and the streets were very noisy all through the night (both places were). There was only 1 PowerPoint in the room. But the people were nice and they also gave us a free breakfast.

TOTAL RENOVATED”
I had seen the many negative reviews, but found out that, the hotel has been completely renovated a few months ago. I t was closed for 3 months, to be completely renovated. We got a wonderfully nice NEW room, with a huge terrace, which we used diligently to drink red wine: o) The location was phenomenal, you live 10 steps from Plaça de Sant Jaume, 50 meters from placa del rey, 50 meters from the cathedral and 200 meters from La Rambla. 300 meters from the water. The service was super good and they were very helpful. Thanks you to the staff, and I will come back to this hotel, when I visit Barcelona next time. From Pablo and Mitzi

Excellent clean & superbly located hotel”
Hotel is so central in the middle of the old town near the Cathedral. There are shops, cafes, restaurants, bars and supermarkets everywhere around it. Street is nice and safe for walking in the evening as very busy and shops open till midnight around it. Hotel itself is immaculate and maid service cleans your room every day and leaves toiletries etc. Room has a fridge and a safe which is great. We had a balcony looking onto the street and it had black out curtains so there was no problem with light wakening us up. Very minimal noise of cars outside and after all staying in a city I thought the noice was really hardly noticeable. We had a great sleep, comfy beds, really was perfect I hope to come back here and will recommend to anyone. We did not have breakfast as prefer the variety of places outside so cannot comment on that. But 100% loved it. Will be back.

The hotel is located right in the town centre. It is well maintained and the staff are quite friendly and informative. Breakfast is generous with an adequate selection of hot and cold food. The rooms are clean and furnished with modern cared for furniture. The reception area is humongous and impressive with comfortable furnishings. The only minor down sides for us was that there wasn't a view but this didn't take away from the experience since location makes up for it greatly, there was a bit of noise that woke us from other guests returning late at night but the same can be said of any hotel. There is plenty of hot water but you have to run the shower a bit. I would definitely stay there again!!!
