High Cost-Performance Ratio”
The hotel was clean and tidy and the location was very near to the bus stop which has bus to Kyoto JR station. There is a 24-hour restaurant and Lawson near the hotel. The room was not very tiny like cabins and you could move around a bit and it's nice and cozy. The hotel was worth it for such a low price compared to other hotels. If you wish for somewhere to stay, not expecting grand facilities like a five-star hotel, this is an excellent choice. It even goes with free laundry service with cleansing agent provided. However, you could not store your luggage before checking in and checking out, which could be quite inconvenient. We were going to Umeda directly the next day so it did not matter a lot, but do keep in mind if you expect to stay in Kyoto for some time after you check out.

The process of self check-in didn't bother me at all but mine check-in confirmation email came a little late or maybe might not come if I didn't make a follow up call (I'm having a bit difficult time looking for a phone booth...(well nowadays who use it right?). So the hotel can improve the service by providing an alternative channel to contact because not everyone travel with a callable mobile plan (mine only have internet roaming service). The other gap to improve is a room cleaning schedule. I'm ok with the current rule, but we guests will eventually create lots of garbage on the 2nd night onwards, so if the hotel can provide a self-service garbage bin in the common area would be great so we don't have to sleep with a smell of the garbage that we created. BUT OVERALL, THIS IS A VERY GOOD HOTEL TO CHOOSE AND I WILL DEFINITELY CHOOSE TO STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN IF I HAVE A CHANCE TO VISIT KYOTO.

Compact room at good location ”
Great value for a small budget. Check in process was simple and done with an unmanned reception. Same for check out. Room is very compact but clean & bright. TV programs are limited to local channels only. WiFi is available and a smart phone with 4G network is also provided which is really useful for our daily navigation. There is also a nice but compact bathtub to relax at the end of the day. Free to use washing & dryer machine with detergent was a plus. There are 2 subway stations nearby, Omiya and Nijo stations. There are also nearby attractions which we walked to such as the Nishiki Market, Gion district, Yasaka shrine, Kodaiji temple, Kiyomizu temple, Nijo castle.... There are also several convenient stores and fast food nearby . Overall it was a pleasant stay but I’ll recommend this to people not too huge.

Nice unattended hotel”
This is a new hotel located in a residential section of Kyoto not far from the Castle. The hotel and rooms are spotless. The rooms themselves offer many amenities including a free cell phone that you can use during your stay, which even includes free calling to several countries apart from Japan. For the money I suspect it is very hard to find a better hotel in Kyoto. The only cons are the rooms are small and the windows are frosted and you cannot see out; the window can only be opened a small amount. Additionally the hotel is not attended; you self check in at the front desk, personally this did not bother me and if it keeps the price down, that's find but others may want more personalized service.

Clean, convenient and an economic choice of hotel! ”
I would reccomend this hotel to young couple / solo traveller or others who feels comfortable with automated system and self-help service. Becasue it is a self-check hotel which relies on emails, passcodes and computer system for check-in, check-out and enquiries. My whole stay is very smooth and comfortable. Inside the hotel, there are laundry and smoking room. And there are hairdryer, fridge, shampoo, toothpastes...etc., just like any standard hotel. Clean and tidy. In terms of location, it is very close to Sanjo Dori (三条通). There are a lot of shops, restaurants, cafe, and convenient stores nearby. To get to Kyoto station, there is just a 5 min walk to the bus stop that connects to many tourist spots. If you want to go to Arashiyama, it is about 10 min walk to Nijo JR station.

Clean & fully equipped ”
Self check-in/out is very simple & straightforward. very clean & new hotel. only cons is that there is NO luggage storage on site, so we have to carry all our luggages, took a 20mins bus from Omiya station to Kyoto station, walked about 400m to their main office in order to keep the luggages.

Decent and budget-wise choice”
Overall stays were pleasant. Although I missed the window and view of the street since it situates in narrow alley, the location is definitely convenient. The check-in process might be tricky for some, gotta head to their main office near the Kyoto station and better take a shuttle bus provided. (also better check-in before it gets dark, if you are lucky you will have staff in the hotel helping you the procedure.) Everything is self-service and entry of room and building is through passwords. Staffs in the office were definitely friendly and you can ask for any information. They will be willing to help you out everything (checking the transportation or itinerary schedule). I would recommend for single or young travellers.

My favorite would be the information center”
The staff at the information center in Kyoto Station was EXTREMELY helpful. All the free amenities such as free luggage storage and luggage delivery, the staff was also helpful and provided us suggestions with our itinerary. Room was ok. They will not clean your room unless you are staying for more than 4 nights. They had an iPad for self check in (which was cool, since they also email you the instructions). My expectation was an efficient check in process. When we arrived at around 10PM, a couple was being assisted by the staff for check in without using the iPad. Since no one was using the iPad, we tried to check in by ourselves but the staff asked us to wait for them to finish checking in... which was weird because they weren't even using the iPad and we just wanted to check in after a long day. So that was a bit off. The rest of the staff though was nice and helpful.

Amazing value, brand new facility ”
I enjoyed my 8-days stay at this Japaning hotel. The hotel is brand new. As a usual Japanese hotel, room is small but it got everything: TV, fridge, reading lights, water enabled bidet, free mobile for the stay, free WiFi, free tea and coffee packs, water heater, shared washing machines and dryers etc. Self check-in with the tablet was quick and easy. My minor complaints are towards the staff. They provide a shuttle which is great. However the shuttle I took in the evening - driver just dropped me at the main street and I needed to navigate to my hotel in the dark. I was the only passenger on the shuttle so why not drop me off at the hotel? WiFi was on and off. When it works it’s fast but many times it refuses to connect; as guests we are not allowed to park our bicycles at the hotel (citing neighbors complaints) which is inconvenient. Location is a bit out of the way (about 10-min walk to closest train station). But if you rent a bicycle it’s no problem.

About bicycles, we highly appreciate your understanding that the hotel is located in the very deep local area, and it is very difficult to put bicycles around the houses, even the local people, if they do not have a special certificate to put the bike or had a good and long connection with neighbors. I don't understand why so many people complained so much about this place. it's a super nice hotel. we have to check in and check out yourself. it's easy. It's definitely a very good price for a hotel in Japan with full of facilities. with the same price, you only can stay at some old place or maybe a dorm.

Small, quiet, please hotel.”
There price was pretty good, the location was in a real neighborhood, quiet, good for the castle and for local shopping and restaurants at the top of the street. If your doing the tourist thing it's easier to reach everywhere from the station area. There are free washers and dryers and a phone to make free long distance calls. Rooms are on the small side, you have to be neat. Check in is using a touch screen but there are real people to help at certain times. It was not hard to deal with. Cleaning staff were great.

Washing machine is a lifesaver”
Everything is great in this hotel. Even if front desk is in Tokyo Station, they have luggage storage and shuttle to drop you off your hotel. This hotel is situated in one of the alleys of a Shotengai, so that is a plus. Rooms are very much updated and clean. And the washing machine is such a great amenity.

A lovely hotel in a great location to the metro. The rooms were small but enough space and a very nice warm shower. We were there during winter so the we needed heating which the air con had a setting for :)
