Love this hotel!”
It's fairly new I think, and that's probably why we enjoyed staying here so much. Front check in was easy and casual, and whoever was sitting behind the desk was really accommodating (it would change on a daily basis). Nice spacious rooms with even enough space for a small table and two chairs even, and a lovely tucked away area for hanging coats and clothes (which I really appreciated). Dedicated USB ports for charging devices was very helpful, and a tablet in room that told you a heap of information about the area, things to do, places to eat etc. Very accommodating and nicely thought out. Only 3 rooms per floor as well I think, so it was nice and quiet, and there are laundry facilities on the ground floor too. I really recommend this place.

Great Value for money”
The hotel is very clean, I have read about reviews on how it was difficult to check-in in a staffless hotel. But their main office staff were helpful in going through how it is done. The location of their main office is quite easy to find from Kyoto Station, if you’re facing the Kyoto tower, just walk to the end of the train station, then cross the street, then it will be just on that block of building, the signage is quite big and you wouldn’t miss it. Location of the hotel is a few minutes walk from Nijojo Mae subway station, probably about 3-5minutes, and the station is just across Nijojo Castle which is one of the tourists spot in Kyoto. There is a ramen place just outside the hotel, and Lawsons is just around 5minutes walk as well, looking for meals would be easy. Staff were very friendly and rooms were very clean. And guest have to pay tax in cash after checking in, this is on top of the one that was already paid for.

great location. just 45 mins walk to nijo-jo”
we loved this boutique hotel.. altho it was difficult to find the center due to misunderstanding of the instruction and non-detailed instruction on how to get there from Kyoto station. if Kyoto station is behind you and the bus terminal is on your left, the Japaning Information Center is on your extreme right.. its across the street to Kyoto Station. we got lost from 10 am to 2 pm, and the taxi also didnt know where it was. we were lucky to me attended by Ms Megumi, she was kind and helpful.. unlike her other colleague who was snappish, altho a bit helpful. there are a 24 hours udon and soba shop with cheap price at the corner.. great place to stop by for a quick supper. great bed, very very clean room,, will definitely come here again

The hotel is nice, clean & very affordable. The room is spacious. Toiletries & tea bags are provided. Coffee is not provided though. There's a ref, electric kettle & hair dryer in the room. The hotel is very conveniently located. Bus stops & subway stations are nearby. There's a restaurant & convenient stores around the corner. It is walking distance to Nijo Castle. The staff are nice & helpful. If I go back to Kyoto, I would stay at this hotel again.

Self service mini hotel”
The Hotel group has an office near Kyoto station , which provide free shuttle bus in the afternoon, pre-booking is recommended . By 4pm , they will email the code number to you for the entrance into the hotel and your room, ours came after I rang them on their phone on the code pad 10 mins after the check in time. Hotel has no cafeteria but a restaurant is just next door and convenient store just down the road. They provide free washing machines and driers though. One important thing is they dont clean the room daily , only when staying up to and more than 3 days , then they will clean it for one day, but you can ask the staff for clean towels daily . The hotel is next to Nijojo Castle, two mins walk and also not far from the International Manga Museum .

Clean hotel with great downtown service”
First impression - we arrive in Kyoto, we left our bags at the downtown customer service centre. The customer service centre is one the first level. There was no lift service so we carried our suitcases up the stairs. After check-in, we were able to deposit our bags at the customer service centre to explore the area before the bus shuttle fetches. We had to, then, carry the bags down to ground floor bag storage room to deposit the bags. We were dropped out on the street outside the hotel. (The shuttle does drop-offs at various Grand Japaning hotels along the way. So, if you are in a group of 3-4 or with young children, you may wish to consider taking a taxi.) The hotel receptionist spoke and understand little English. Upon arrival, we found that we had to pay some sort of tax, per night per person. There is a 24 hours convenience store and noodle shop nearby. Room is clean but a little cramp for 3 persons' luggages.

Great location & good facilities ”
Pros: 1. Free laundry and dryer! They even provide the detergent for u to use 2. Close to Nijo Castle-5mins walk 3. 8 mins walk to nijojo mae station and around 15mins walk to nijo station Cons: 1. Everythg is do it urself from the check in to check out. 2. If you need luggage storage, will be needing to go to their japaning office near kyoto station (5mins away). 3. Not many eateries nearby, only a 24hours restaurany selling don if i am not wrong. However, i really enjoy their triple room. Plenty of space for us to move around!

nice location and everything you need...no more!”
The location is near train station Nijojo and the bus stop Horikawa Oike. The hotel adopted non-staff service so you can only see the room cleaner. One little problem is you can't ask for the hotel look up your package in this hotel, and if you do need the service, you have to go to the hotel company near Kyoto station.

Thank you for your stay with us. We are very sorry about your bags. Actually, when your hotel staff is at the hotel, we may can keep bags for all guests however, sometimes they are out from front desk for room check or room cleaning, so we cannot guarantee the safety. That is why we are asking guests to come to our information center just in front of Kyoto Station to keep. We appreciate your understandings. JAPANING Co.
Great accommodation”
If you're looking for something within normal price range I can only recommend it. The 3 stars for this hotel are well deserved, especially for that price. Modern look with a clean feeling. They're cleaning your room every 3 days so your room is basically always clean. For people who intend to stay longer but don't want to take too many clothes with them, they have a laundry which will be basically a gift send by the heavens to you. The downsides are (but not too big) if you're a group of 3 like we were, the room might be small, so good luck playing tetris with your luggages if you have a lot. Another one is the bad wifi which starts ~8-9pm because a lot of people are using it at that time I guess, and lasts until ~12am, so prepare mobile internet in advance if you want to use some internet during that time. Although I listed some small downsides the pro are definitely overweighing (cheap, clean, laundry (!!!), also the staff was very nice so yeah it was great.

“Excellent location Very clean & modern design. New experience with staff-less , self check in with the tablet in the lobby. Very easy & fast. Walking distance to bus stop, subway & also to Nijojo Castle. Self - Laundry also available in the Hotel. Only we had trouble to find their office for keeping our luggage. The may want to give clear direction (map) in the room. Highly recommend this Hotel and would definatly stay there again in future”. Thank you

Nice room, good location, can be tricky to find and limited services”
Access to this place is all done by codes. The room was of a v good quality, new, clean and with necessary facilities. Price was fair for this time of the year. There is minimal staffing on the site and there was no luggage storage which was quite frustrating - for luggage storage you have to go to the head office a few km away. There are several grand Japaning hotels in close proximity to each other often with quite similar names and the taxi drivers can have difficulty finding the right one. Also, the search engine sites only show up some of the Grand Japaning hotels and not always the same ones so when we thought we were booking a group of rooms at the same hotel we ended up at three different hotels albeit within a kilometer of each other. This particular one is well located near the Castle and the train station.

Simple but awesome hotel”
At first I underestimate the hotel. I thought it was ordinary hotel. But after I stay with my family, they were enjoyed very much. The hotel provide washing and drying machine for free so we could washed and dried our clothes. Although the staff different for each day, we were glad that they helped so much. The hotel is completely modern which we have to remember the code to enter the front gate and room.

New hotel and good location”
This hotel is very near to metro bus, just outside the hotel. Subway is abt 8mins walk. I like the room, very comfy and nice bed. Basic necessities is provided. Laundry and dryer is free of charge. A very nice and yummy 24hr japanese restaurant is within 30 seconds walk from the hotel. The cons side maybe just that the window view that I got is not good, facing the back staircase, else everything will be perfect.

Very good”
The hotel, location and facilities are good. But please note that there is no staff in the reception. You have to check in using the devices in reception. Better to check in their office near Kyoto Tower (100K restaurent upstairs).

Location good. Self check in and check out. ”
Self check-in and check-out. The hotel will send you a code via email to check in. You need to self scan the passport copy and fill in the address in the form in the self kiosk. Once check in done, they will shown you your room number, password and also the main entrance code. Simple to use. Very close to Nijojo -mae station and very close to Nijo Castle. No cleaning every day and having difficulty to request for room cleaning. Overall, it is nice place to stay. I must put a star as I cannot left out for staff rating as all self service, there is no staff there.
