Unbeatable Japan Experience!!”
We had an amazing time in Kyoto thanks to the guys at Earthship! The hostel was located in a great area of Kyoto, with lots of bars, shops and places to eat. All within walking distance. The city centre and all attractions and be easily reached by walking or public transportation. We rented bikes too as its the best way to explore Kyoto. The room was spacious and very clean. The ensuite shower even had a tub. The toilet is located just outside the room, so very easy to access. The hostel has a great atmosphere with the best staff ever! They were such gracious hosts and really made our experience of Japanese culture even better. We were invited to join them for meals and drinks every night from which we were able to meet so many people, mostly locals. I highly recommend staying here for a real Kyoto experience!!!

Great Hotel”
Three of us rented a private room for the weekend and we had a great time! The staff is amazingly helpful and friendly, the room was perfectly clean and the Sentou next door was a great plus. We rented bikes and cycled on the canal to all the city's main attractions. Definitely recommend for a stay in Kyoto.

Good location and friendly. ”
The owner and staffs there are extremely friendly and helpful. Friendly neighbourhood and got to meet up with some foreign travellers round the world. Only con is to my picky that the toilet of the room I rented was outside the room but the washroom was in our bedroom. Will definitely come again if visit to Kyoto.

Nice little hostel”
Would've rated 5 for the facilities if there's a bidet in the toilet. Otherwise, superb! Great location. I miss the morning walks to the bus station at Kyoto University.

Very helpful staff!”
We left our GoPro charger here and the friendly staff kindly kept it safe for us before we returned to Kyoto for our onwards flight. Highly recommended!

Good value, location and nice staff!”
Me and my girlfriend stayed here during 3 nights and were very happy with our stay all in all. We stayed in a big private room with two bunkbeds and AC, it was clean and in good condition. The common area was nice, but the kitchen area could be a lot cleaner, there was a lot of food and garbage lying around and it was hardly any space to cook because of that. However the staff was very helpful and nice, and the location is good with several busstops just a few minutes away, the closest is Kyoto University!

I stayed for 2 nights during the month of April and got a bed in the female dorm which has its own clean clean clean bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and because this hostel is one of the quiet ones, I slept like a baby. Although this hotel is quiet, it has tons of character as it makes it super easy for people to interact and travelers to meet each other. The people working there are relaxed and helpful. The location is excellent, close to transportation and Kamo river, convenience stores, everything. Hope to stay here again someday

A very simple place to stay!”
this hotel is more of a youth hostel: very simple, shared living room, shared toilets and bathrooms for some, cost for towels etc. that being said the staff are very friendly and accomodating to one's needs. if you are looking to sightsee in kyoto this hotel is not located in the most optimum location (right next to kyoto university).

Comfortable and cozy hostel ”
It's tucked away but still close to many sites, subway and restaurants. The staff is friendly and helpful. The communal table at the entrance is welcoming and comforting. I rented a bike at the local bike shop by I enjoyed my stay!

Very simple hotel with no amenities at all”
We stayed at the private room at this hotel. The room is considered big. However, they are not perfectly capable of utilizing the space for example there is no chair to sit, no hangar to hang clothes, and no wardrobe. Also, when i first entered the hotel, you will be amazed of how messy its lobby was. This hotel is not worthy for the price you pay and it's also kinda far to every tourist point (have to take bus).
