Location is everything ”
Absolutely love staying at this hotel. It’s extremely clean and only a 3 minute walk to the chairlifts. The hotels traditional onsens are immaculate and the staff wonderful. Loved the daily breakfast, sitting areas and truly local restaurants close by. The rentals shop located just across the carpark also makes life easier. Will definitely return.

Everything you want and need for a fun ski trip! ”
The staff were amazing! The ski/snowboarding rental store across the street was affordable, has great gear, and just as friendly as the staff at the hotel. The Onsen is perfect after a long day of skiing. If you’re not fussy about small details and are a positive person, you’ll fit right in and have a great time.

A small simple Winter hotel”
7 mins walk to evergreen ski resort. Best to book a session prior to your trip. Hotel has in-house Onsen, though small but works pretty well for winter season. Directly opposite Rythm ski rental store. For lunch and dinner, there is a need to venture out.

Great value added services ”
Best value add was the free bus you could book with the hotel to get you directly to restaurants of your choosing and then back again after dinner. I would given a higher rating but for the rather boring Western breakfast for all four days we were there. First time in Japan where there’s virtually no Japanese breakfast foods offered. Most hotels in japan offer, for breakfast, a menu that’s 70% Japanese but not here. Onsen is good and staff Super helpful

Hard to find better for skiing Happo-one”
we chose the mominoki primarily on value for money and proximity to sakka ski lifts. we wanted a breakfast inclusive rate, easy access to shuttle buses to sakka & other ski resorts, closeness to night eating venues or a night bus service. this hotel met all requirements and more. we arrived after midnight and check-in could not have been faster. our standard twin was warm, clean, quiet & comfortable. the bathroom was small but had plenty of hot water at good pressure. next morning we awoke to snow falling, icicles hanging from the eaves and the best buffet breakfast! fresh fruit, cereals, toast, croissants, juice, tea, coffee, miso soup, savoury japanese goodies, salads, bacon, mini sausages and eggs cooked to order by the lovely omelet chef who we were assured is also a fantastic skier. staff were always friendly & helpful including 3 well-traveled, aussie girls who were great to chat to & helped with plans for our diy day trip to see the snow monkeys. we tried 3 of 5 mominoki restaurants for dinner. the linnea buffet was really good and so easy if a lazy night in is needed. the after-ski/before-dinner onsen was bliss & not-to-be-missed. ski hire/drying room/storage is available at the wadano visitors centre located at the hotel's driveway entrance. we loved the hotel's retro ski lodge atmosphere. the guest lounge with its open fire was inviting for an evening social drink or to sit & catch up on emails. we hope to return next ski season for more snow and mominoki. highly recommended!

very nice staff”
We travel a lot but usually never bother rating hotels as I am lazy. However, the staff at Mominoki was so helpful with my many silly requests that I feel they deserve that I let others know. Besides the great staff, we really liked the "comfort" type room. Room very big, bathroom very small, with a bathtub so small it is almost cute. Everything nice and clean. Best part was the way they had turned two beds into a giant double bed 2+ meters wide. During a 4 day stay, the only thing that annoyed me was that one night they let a large outside group tour reserve most of the restaurant, which left little space for hotel guests. All the other nights and mornings breakfast and dinner service went smooth, again not least thanks to the great staff. If we ever come back to Hakuba, we will stay at Mominoki.

Great staff, rooms, location, services”
I had an excellent experience at Mominoki. The staff were very accommodating and helpful, the location of the hotel is ideal; minutes walk form Happo One lifts, and a short (free) shuttle ride to others. The rooms are spacious, modern, and clean, and the food in the restaurant was great.

Mominoki does the Hakuba experience”
There is everything you need to have a real Hakuba experience at the Mominoki and, while the rooms may be smaller than you'd find at newer hotels, there is great access to all you'll need to have a terrific snow experience.

Great Stay”
We loved every minute of our stay at the hotel. We arrived at virtually the end of the ski season hoping for a couple of days on the snow and luckily that worked out for us. The hotel picked us up from the station and to our lovel spacious 4 person room, the beds were very comfortable and everything very clean. The shuttle was always available for us and the staff very helpful. The food for both dinner and breakfast was high quality and had variety and we all loved it. We loved the indoor and outdoor onsen and the robes provided to wear. The position of the hotel is fantastic and if all lifts were open would have been very convenient to get onto snow quickly. The only negative was the heating in the room was too hot so we slept with the balcony door open.

Exceptional”
Very good location for skiing. Near one of the ski lift. Unfortunately that chair lift closed earlier for this season. I had to take the shuttle bus to another ski resort. The shuttle was free until the end of March. The shuttle bus stop is just in front of the hotel. A very nice hot spring in the hotel open until midnight. The staff are helpful and English-speaking.

Fantastic service!”
Great service and location! Staff were able to help us out with all kinds of questions relating to getting to and from the mountains for snowboarding, as well as local food. They called restaurants for us to make bookings, and the shuttle bus is very handy for pick ups and drop offs all over town. You can even walk to one of the chairlifts! There is a rental place on the other side of the car park making it very easy to pick up and drop off any gear, as well as make purchases. Breakfast buffet was great, along with the dinner option. We arranged massages in our room after the on-site onsen too. I accidentally left some gloves in the room which the staff have mailed back to me overseas. Overall a great experience.

Family Friendly”
The location is not as close to the town and slopes as I had expected. However virtually all bus routes stop at the hotel and they have a shuttle service running into town. Ski hire and Lessons can be arranged almost next door. The breakfast and evening meals were good and there was a good bar/lounge available. The rooms were reasonably spacious and very clean

Ultimate Hakuba Experience”
Fantastic hotel, with great facilities and so many food & beverage options. Close to lifts and ski hire is across the car park. The Onsen is one of the best I've experienced. Will be back for sure!
