Recommend for family trips”
Recommend for family trips. I stayed at Type A Tatami room (40m²), and it was large enough for four-member family (there is one small room, so it's good for the kids to use the room and the parents to use the maru). There are three big public baths, one on the 12th floor/one on the 2nd floor/one on the B1 floor of Hotel Shikanoyu (Hanamomiji users may use Shikanoyu hotel's public bath). The first two public baths have outdoor baths. The third bath has a sauna. The baths have all amenities you need, including toothbrush/paste and cleansing foam, moisturizer, etc. There is no straightner. Kaiseki is amazing - a lot of food. They prepare your bed when you are gone eating Kaiseki. In the Tatami room, you may ask them to put two beds in the room and two beds in the maru (or all beds in the maru is fine too). Breakfast is also amazing - a lot of food but the time is pretty early (6:45-7:45). If you reserved a private bath, you pay total of ¥2,800 including tax and other service fee when checkout. You have to drop by the front at the time of your reservation in order to access the private bath. Honestly do not think the private bath is absolutely necessary - just stick to the public baths as they are way roomy. Public bathroom is on each floor, all very clean. The place is generally very quiet. Do not miss the free manju give-away from 2pm-6pm at the lobby. Their manju is amazing. There are two souvenir stores, one in Hanamomiji and one in Shikanoyu. Shikanoyu seems like it has more stuff. There is a family mart nearby, but you still have to walk about 10 mins. There is a good ramen place nearby (可楽). Also checkout the public foot-hot bath near the bridge. Overall, not sure if it is cost-effective but it was a good stay. Satisfied.

Just a very famous ryokan”
This is the accommodation where we spent the last day of our family trip (2 adults, 2 teenagers). Although it is not exactly a luxury ryokan, it is perfect in terms of price and facilities for experiencing a ryokan. The room, hot springs, and meals (breakfast and dinner) were all above average and satisfying. The hot springs were very satisfying as they were fully equipped with bathing supplies. As for the dinner, which we had high expectations for, it was an omakase-style Japanese dinner. However, it was not exactly omakase and more like a Japanese-style dinner. There was almost nothing for children who do not like fish. The lobby was very nice and the staff were very friendly.

It was great.”
The room was spacious and very nice. The breakfast was average. The public baths on the 2nd and 12th floors were well-maintained and had good facilities. The private bath on the 12th floor was not necessary as the public baths were already great. The public bath on the 1st floor of the adjacent hotel, Shikanoyu, was not good. It had the same facilities as a Korean bathhouse and was poorly maintained. The hotel did not respond to my email about the private bath and shuttle bus reservation, so I had to call and make the reservation over the phone after waiting for 2 weeks. The shuttle bus to Hanamomiji was not running on the day I wanted to go, so I had to take the local Jotetsu bus, which took over an hour due to heavy snow. Jotetsu is a regular city bus without any place to store luggage, so it was very inconvenient. On the last day, I took the shuttle bus back to the station and it was very convenient. If you plan to stay in Sapporo for more than 2 nights, I highly recommend this hotel as it has great facilities and it would be a shame to only stay for 1 night.

Just come”
Just come. It's so good. However, it's better to book the biggest private bath. I went with the smallest one and it wasn't that great... But other parts were perfect. The attitude of the staff, the large public bath, the room, the facilities, the dinner with the kaiseki, and the breakfast buffet... everything was perfect. I was just very disappointed with the private bath. There was a clump of hair floating in the bathtub... I cleared it with my fingers and washed my hands... And the water was cold, so I asked the staff and they poured hot water with a hose...^^... It was my first private bath, so I don't know if it's just that one. Anyway! The private bath only caused my personal anger, but I healed my heart that was hurt in the private bath with the true hot water in the large public bath. Every other part was really perfect. If you are going to book a private bath, please book the second or third one, not the first one... I came in January 2023 and I plan to visit here again in December 2023. I will book a different private bath... haha If you think it was satisfying enough, that's it~

Best ever stay in our Sapporo trip”
We stayed here for a night in the Urara floor in the 105m2 suite. It has got the spacious space you ever needed. It has 4 queen size beds separated in two areas, a kitchenette, a bathroom with Onsen, a toilet and a HUGE living room which can fit about 20 people. A lounge for the Urara floor guests to enjoy with free flow of drinks and snacks. Our Kaiseki dinner was enjoyed in a private dining room. Breakfast was in the common breakfast hall with all other hotel guests. The staff were very (very!!) helpful and nice. Even though our Japanese wasn’t too good and their English wasn’t too good neither, they had a handheld translating machine that does the translation. We have no problems with communications. Besides the in-room onsen, the public onsen was great too. They have free shuttle bus service to and from Sapporo JR station, but we took the public bus to return because the free shuttle returned too early. We definately will return to this hotel. It was one of our memorable stay.

Great Stay”
The room itself is clean and spacious and they free you manju upon your stay. You can even get free drinks on their lounge at mentioned time. The onsen itself is big and very nice, they have on the upper and lower floor. Private onsen have extra charge and need reserve through hotel m, always full house so need reserve early. It is very nice as you will have your own private one for about 60mins, reserve the one on 12th floor and the views are great! The breakfast are the same for consecutive 2days during my stay, but the dinner is different. The foods itself are nice as well. Overall are great and pleasant stay, greatly recommended. Free shuttle service is available for reservation through the hotel, you can get there yourself by bus as the transport are convenient. There are nothing much to do around the area, it is purely for relaxation. And please expect the price for a stay in ryokan is not cheap.

So kind staff, relaxing experience”
A meal was a bit salty but the experience was very unique! You can reach here within 1 hour from Sapporo. It’s located in a quiet neighborhood. Staffs are so kind. You can fully enjoy relaxing moments.

Highly recommended”
I highly recommend this place! This was our first place of stay during our trip. Extremely friendly staff members, they're always willing to help you as much as they can. The room was clean, hot spring was well maintained and the food was greatt too. I have no complaints. The only thing I would like to point out though, is that their shuttle bus gets filled pretty fast so make sure to reserve your spot asap. It'd be nice if they can expand their capacity so all customers can have the opportunity to take the shuttle bus, as it's a long trip from the Sapporo station .

Five stars! ”
Good dinner, breakfast and an (almost) all day coffee lounge with snacks, drinks, wine. Service is great too! Had a great onsen experience esp the level 2 onsen! Recommended to take the Kappa liner from Sapporo, it stops right outside the hotel (to and fro). Short walk to the scenic suspension bridge too!

Wonderful Premium Keiseki ”
Everthing is good indeed but the premium keiseki is something that you should not miss if you have a chance to stay here. I chose the premium keiseki set which is very impressive. There are other sets of dinner for your choice such as crab keiseki.

Amazing”
This hotel is clean, we enjoyed the onsens (we went to both public and private). Amazing Japanese style dinner - so much food that we couldn't finish. The room was by far the most spacious in Japan, we booked for 2 but could easily accommodate 6 pax. Love the cafe lounge where you can sit back while listening to classical music. Location is good too with bus stop right in front of it. Only thing be wary of the onsen tax (150 yen per pax) that is not included in agoda's price.

Everything is great, especially the beautiful scenery. Good location, delicious food including the dinner of steak. The room is good with a beautiful view of the mountain. In summary, it's worth the price. Will definitely come back.
