Lovely hotel with a boutique feel. The front lobby, which is to the left of the reception desk, is part of the original building, and a beautiful quiet place to relax. Our double room was very nicely decorated, immaculately clean, and had a heavenly comfortable bed! Small restaurant for use of hotel guests only, serving delicious and well prepared dishes. Breakfast buffet, complete with mimosas. Nice rooftop bar with pool. Lobby bar for an evening nightcap. Superlative staff, friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend.

I visited alot of times in Spain and i am the picky person when i choose accommodation. This hotel is the one of the best hotel. Everybody is so kind and facilities are very nice. What a special place to stay in Barcelona!”
After a long 9 hour flight, we arrived at the Hotel 1898! It was a gem! I hope to return to Barcelona and I can't imagine staying anywhere else! The rooms were clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The hotel staff at the front desk went out of their way to help us with directions for meals and printing out papers for our upcoming cruise. The rooftop pool and bar were an added plus to an already lovely hotel. The main floor lobby was classy with a beautiful bar. The breakfast was excellent with a very kind and helpful staff. My only disappointment was that we had to leave after 4 days to go on our cruise. We absolutely loved Hotel 1898 and hope to return!

I stayed for 6 nights in this hotel from the beginning of October 2022. I choose it for it's central location and facilities. Everything about the hotel was very impressive, e.g. location, facilities, friendliness of staff, cleanliness. I can highly recommend this hotel and would definitely return again.

Great location, great facilities, new interior”
great location 5 min walk from metro and walking distance to many attractions, great roof top pool and lounge that gives you a very nice view of the city and sunrise, great indoor basement pool with jacuzzi & steam room & sauna, hotel lounge at ground floor was very cosy, struggled a bit on how to use the hot bath and no bath robe n bathroom slippers provided, good safety design to have a handle to get off the bath tub, bottle pump soap and shampoo was convenient!

Very good hotel with great facilities ”
Location is great, swimming pool is fantastic, friendly staff and the breakfast was delicious. The room is big and clean but it was located at the wayside so its wasn’t really quite at night, but the bed was great so we could easily fall asleep.

The hotel was very nice with an 1800's theme big enough rooms, classic decor and great amenities. The location was also very ideal which was on La Rambla and very near La Boqueria, the Gothic Quarter, and Plaza Catalunya.

Exceptional”
I’m 60 years old, my wife is 58. This was the first time either of us has been to Europe. We arrived Friday at the beautiful hotel and were greeted by friendly staff. Saturday, Spain declared a National Emergency and shut down most everything. We needed to drastically shorten our stay and re-book flights home before the airport was shutdown (there were many reports that would happen). The front desk helped us well beyond the expected. I will never forget their compassion and courtesy. We arrived home Sunday evening. It was a very interesting 49 hours spent in Spain. We’ll definitely come back to this hotel😊
