i stayed 2 nights in this hotel. The room rate was less than 400K IDR including breakfast. I think it is very reasonable rate around Jakarta Kota area, but the room has no windows. This hotel is located near at Mangga Besar station(it takes 5minutes walk from the station) and useful for visiting Jakarta Kota area. The room is old and there is no complementary except 2 bottles of water, but it was clean enough. the breakfast is indonesian food buffet and you can eat ots of foods in the morning. Totally say, this hotel is reasonable and not so bad. Having more fun and satisfaction depends on your purpose of visiting this area. I think, in Jakarta Kota area, there are many hotels but most of them are not reasonable so much.

Inexpensive stay at Mangga Besar area”
No frills budget hotel located about 200m from Mangga Besar main road. Clean room. Big negative - Bathroom has no screen separating from the toilet and as a result, whole toilet bowl and bathroom floor is wet during shower. Average buffet breakfast. Better bet would be to stay at Hotel 88 , Mangga Besar 62

Nothing special, I'm satisfied with the hotel but not with the price, i wanted to stay about 3 weeks, but after 2 days i check out and save a lot of money, the new hotel is very good, the standard is not less, but much cheaper.

the room that i got isn't clean and there are some cracks on the wall. we have to ask for toothbrush to the staff because they forgot to give us. the breakfast are not really good. and there are many hotel 88 at near the area so it's kinda hard to find and sometimes the maps lead us to other hotel 88 near the area. overall for the value of money of its price, it's so so

Good Place To Choose”
Had stayed for 2 nights. Room was clean but nothing. No refrigerator if you need to store cold drinks. Location is easy to find and convenient and across the street from Travel Hotel which is a popular KTV / massage place. All staff were good, quick and efficient. Easy to find food. I would like to stay again at the hotel 88 Mangga Besar viii. Breakfast so so. Not too far away from all the night spots and is close to the night market that sells food into the wee hours.

location: There are 3 hotel 88 at this area. Mine was location at jalan Mangga VIII. Alfa mart located just beside the hotel pro: local food stalls can be found along the streets, suited for muslim and non muslim (but you have to ask whether they served halal foods or not). I like fruit juice and bakmi ayam sell at local street food around 100m left to the hotel. the coconut juice also very nice with cheap price. Interior Design: I booked 6 Deluxe room (with window), at level 6 and 7. this hotel is provided with 2 elevators. The bed was comfy with 2 bottles of drinking water. The toilet was with a nice size, not too small. the room also provided with safety box. Cons: the toilet bowl need to be brushed since it it stained. some of my family member's room smelled smoke (from cigarette) even though i did requested in my booking for not having smoking rooms. Pro: water pressure and water heater working very well, large bed size with comfy mattress Breakfast: i like. local dishes

My stay in Hotel 88 Mangga Besar VIII was great. Best value for money, great amenities and the location is excellent. My only wish is that they improve a little bit on the quality and choices of breakfast food they have. Overall I will rate this hotel 8/10.

Comfortable Stay”
I always choose this hotel if I have to attend Djakarta Warehouse Project. Not too far from the venue and quite affordable, considering it will be hard to book hotel near venue. However, I need to give notes in administration. I booked the hotel on October 2015. Few hours before I checked in, I called the hotel to confirm my book. They couldn't find my hotel voucher, even though already confirmed by Agoda. This is strange because in other place, inside or outside Indonesia, my booking always available whenever I ask. Only with Hotel 88 Mangga Besar VIII this thing happened, not once but twice, and in same period. So probably they need to be alert more, especially if the booking was made few months ahead. Other than that, I'm quite happy with my stay

Clean and comfortable”
It is a newly completed hotel and the restaurant is not ready yet. Breakfast is served along hotel rooms corridor. The rooms we got are without window so no view at all but are comfortable with good wifi. Bathroom is a bit small and every time after shower the floor will be soaking wet. The wall insulation is poor and with tiled public corridor, trolly noise and sound of walking footsteps can be heard throughout the night. But it is good value for money overall. The hotel is located off the busy main road but accessible to all basic amenities. Jakarta is known for its notorious traffic jam so all main roads around the hotel are jam packed with traffic day and night. I would not recommend this city as a tourist destination, just too stressful to beat the traffic!

Decent short stay”
Stayed here for a short time. Room was clean but nothing special. Room lacked a refrigerator so if you like cold drinks not ideal. Location just off Mangga Besar is easy to find and convenient. Across the street from Travel Hotel which is a popular KTV / massage place. Staff were good, quick and efficient.

I chose this hitem because I thought that it was in a location easy to get to cheaply from the airport using the Damri bus from the airport to Gambir Station, transferring to the commuter train and traveling a couple of stops to the Mangga Besar Station and then walking a block and a half to the hotel. As it turned out the commuter train did not stop at Gambir Station so that meant two buses to the far side of the Mangga Besar area and about an 8 block walk to the hotel. Other than that it was an okay hotel. A bit institutional but that is to be expected from a Hotel 88 I suppose The buffet breakfast served on the top floor was very good.

Poor buffet breakfast”
The restaurant on 10 floor is still a few months to be completed. right now it is just empty wall. The buffet breakfast is on the 7th and 8th floor hallway (yes, you read it right, the hallway). The food is suitable for locals and the availability of type of food is different on either 7th or 8th floor. so check it out. The so call juice is just sugared water with a tint of orange flavor. At night the front of the hotel is very conjected. A short walk to the main road "mangga Besar" you would savor local road side food (only if you wanted to try local style). A trip from the international airport is around Rupiah 100,000 (plus or minus 10% due to traffic condition). This applies to the "blue bird" brand taxi and you pay toll charges around Rp12,500. Toll charges varies. it could be Rp7000 total if you are going from the hotel to the airport.

Overall stay is great. The room is clean and staff are very helpful when needed. The most important as group traveler seeking for entertainment to enjoy Jakarta; this hotel located opposite the famous "Travel Hotel" (All-in-Entertainment Hotel) and near to other nightspots entertainment to... Value for money and no transportation issue at all.

The negative point of this hotel is the Thin walls and the noise made in the Alleyways resound in the Rooms and disturb ones sleep. Having booked in a deluxe room I thought there would be a mini Fridge in the room, sadly there was none. The breakfast was very pathetic for foreigners, with no Butter or Milk available, however to be fair, it may be good for the locals as it looked like they were relishing the same. There should be a choice in Agoda booking whether to accept or decline the breakfast minus the cost for the same. The pro's of this place is that it 1. It is new and very clean, friendly staff and well located. 2. is bang opposite "Travel Hotel" for those looking for a bit of Night Life and Massage parlour. 3. Taxis available continuously outside the hotel. 4. Free Tea and Coffee available throughout the day at the Lobby. Close on the Main Road is a variety of restaurants
