On the higher floors on the city side the view is astonishing. The hot water in the tub was almost cold.

Budapest Hotel”
I have stayed here before once again only for the one night. The last visit was okay but this one was not. No sleep as bus loads of teenagers running around, shouting and slamming doors until 04.00 am. There is no sound proofing between rooms so even after 04:00 there was still noise to be heard from the nearby rooms. The shower was only partially working, 70% from the tap and only 30% from the shower. Last visit in April cost 30 euros for one night, so okay. This was 90+ euros so not okay. Next time I visit the dentist will be staying elsewhere.

Hotel is just one bus ride to the centre and the train station, quite accessible. Easy check in and out. WiFi is okay. Beds are comfy, towels and linens were fine. Room security is okay. We got a good view of the neighborhood in out 10th floor room. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, good selection of food. Exterior/Interior looks old and not that well maintained. There's a distinct smell inside the premises esp. in the room, which is not pleasant for us. Lobby is so-so and, in our view, not of a 4-star hotel one. Room heater is not strong. It was an okay stay but I would not recommend. Not a 'value for money stay'.

Book at your own risk. View from window was good, large area of city visible from top. Location is like you have to change the tram or bus to most of the place u need to visit. Tram stopage is just outside of the hotel which was best part of thos hotel.

My first Stay in Budapest”
The Hotel Budapest built in the sixties was really nice and I felt home. Friendly staff, Tramstation in front of the hotel, quiete and parc for jogging opposite the hotel. WLAN possible against paying!! nice breakfastroom with freshly brewed coffee and big choice of warm and cold dishes. If I come again, I would stay also at the Hotel Budapest, even if it is away from centre (30 minutes fast walking down to the Danau.

A bit shaby...”
The Budapest hotel is well situated, but needs refurbishment. Small choice at the restaurant. But...service is very good - you get answer and help at once! On the whole - we find Hungarian people most welcomming and nice! Everybody speaks foreign languages! We'll come next spring with our daughters!

Excellent”
Stayed for 1 night in September last year. Very friendly and responsive staff - had some issues with our toilet light and it was rectified quickly. View from the room was gorgeous. Will recommend this place to anyone visiting Budapest :)

Good Hotel - Fair Price ”
It's a good hotel , medium sized room , with basic furniture , clean rooms with air conditioning and mini refrigerator in it . The hotel staff is friendly and very helpful The hotel is well positioned ,there is a tram station in front of it, Szell Kalman ter and Szell Kalman metro station is very short distance- few minutes reachable by foot.

This was a fantastic hotel to stay in. With fascinating design and comfortable rooms with a view, it was nice for the time I was there. Conveniently located a short tram ride from the station. The staff were friendly and offered excellent recommendations.

Very comfortable stay in good location”
Stayed in a twin room which had very comfortable beds. Large windows on the 14th floor which had fantastic views of the Buda Hills. There were trams just across the road and the metro was an easy 10 minute walk away. Hotel was also within easy walking distance (15-20 mins) to the Castle District. Would definitely stay here again.

The staffs friendliness made everything better”
Though the hotel may be old however the staff made everything better. David at the reception was nice and that old man from om the restaurant was so thoughtful in giving me a baby chair. The location of the hotel is perfect, and its close to the mall and restaurants (that is if you love to walk). The money i paid is indeed worth it.

Nice hotel with good location”
I spent 3 nights at Hotel Budapest and my stay was ok. Hotel style is a bit dated but it is clean and with good location (bus and trams just downstairs). With high floors you can enjoy a lovely view over Budapest.

Dissapointing compared to previous stay in 2014”
This was the second time we stayed in this hotel. First time was in 2014. During the current visit we booked a Junior Suite. Room no. 4 had faulty heating system, so we had to change the room the second day, as the technician could not fix the heating system on the spot. Room no. 1 where we moved had only 1 of the 2 heating units operational. That one could not be stopped from the control panel, so it became too hot. To open the windows we had to ask a service man to provide a special tool. One of the windows was faulty. Cleaning was done only occasionally, in 5 days we had the towels changed only twice. The carpets are very dirty, probably very old too. The couch was also dirty and not comfortable to sleep on it. Breakfast and dinner food was of good quality. Plates, forks and knives were not cleaned properly. Paper napkins were missing on most of the tables. Staff was very friendly in most of the cases, this is a strength for the hotel. We would like to see this hotel refurbished as soon as possible, as it has a great value for the location and interior design, it can easily become a great place to stay.

It was not bad at all for the price. very clean and cozy. the only down side was that it was august and really hot in the room but when we complained they provided a fan which really helped.

Decent hotel but why no free wi-fi?”
The hotel rooms have been well renovated, but why no free wi-fi. As a very expensive add-on it is both inconvenient and leaves a sour taste in ones mouth.

I felt comfortable with the facilities except there was no free wifi provided inside the room. Wifi required charges in the room. It was only free in the lobby. Besides, the location is not very good. Although it was close to the tram and bus station, it meant for extra transportation fares to pay.

Hotel Budapest is rated a 4 star hotel, I found the standard ordinary, air conditioning very poor. Had to get upgraded to the 15th floor for coming close a 4 star hotel & pay $50 per night extra.
