Didn't meet minimum standards”
We stayed at four hotels on our vacation to Germany, three were wonderful, and then there was this one. The first problem was communication. The lady spoke German rapidly not caring that we couldn't understand a word that she said. And she made no attempt to understand my concerns. Communicating in a foreign language can be fun; with her it was painful. The property is drab and in poor repair. We were given a room with a double bed pushed up against the wall; we reserved a triple room two beds. The lighting was poor with bulbs out and exposed makeshift wiring. A big piece of bathroom corner trim came off in my wife's hand. There was very little ventilation, no air conditioning, and our room was hot. There is no easy way in or out of the hotel; you either have to go through the restaurant if it is open, or down through an industrial door into a dark alcove that leads to the street.
