Excellent Hotel and Breakfast!”
We booked 2 rooms at Hotel Erzgiesserei Europe in Munich through Agoda for 3 nights and had to change to 1 night. Though it was difficult to make the change after we checked in, it was handled very efficiently by the hotel and Agoda! We are very appreciative of this! Hotel is very nice, good location and amazing customer service! Breakfast was outstanding, with endless variety of Cheeses, excellent service and awesome menu! Though their parking was full, the hotel was very helpful in parking our car.

Exceptional”
Traveling from the United States to Germany for the first time after 38 years of marriage, we were excited but apprenhensive. We looked on line for many hotels, but continually came back to Hotel Erzgriesserei. We couldn't have been happier with this decision. We did not want a hotel that was by the main train station, we didn't want a hotel by Tourist Attractions. But we wanted one where we could have a 5 minute walk to catch the ubahn or sbahn and get to those attractions. The location of this hotel fit these requirements. This hotel was in a quiet neighborhood/corporate/business area, too which allowed us to have a quiet night sleep. All the men and women who are employees at this hotel were kind, helpful, welcoming and went out of their way to assure us a nice stay. Answered our questions, helped us with some directions and had a smile on their faces whenever we saw them. There is a nice restaurant on site, but it was rarely visited during our stay. The waitress was extremely nice on the one night we stopped to have a dessert and a glass of wine. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding. Served hot and fresh. Very clean glassware, chinaware, and linens. We found San Benno Italian Restaurant, which is right around the corner wonderful too. As well, there is a biergarten about a 10 minute easy walk from Hotel Erzgiesserei. The only reason we gave less than 5 stars on the facilities section is that we wished there would have been area to pick up a newspaper, bottled water, etc. Please note, the hotel is in the midst of refurbishing rooms. Ours was not one of the updated ones. However it was quite large and allowed us to get around comfortably inside. If you decide to stay tbere, and you need a walk in ahower, please request one. Although we were concerned about the location of the Hotel we found it to be quite, pleasant and within an easy walk of the main city. Our whole experience of Munich was a well presented clean and welcoming city, which was mirrored by the Hotel and Staff of the Hotel Erzgiesserei. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

Large clean room, friendly and helpful staffs”
We got a superior room for 3 nights stay in Munich. The room is larger than expected and with modern setting. The bathroom is huge equipped with a bath tub as well. You get a good soak after a tiring day. The staffs are really friendly and helpful. The room doesn’t have iron and heater. We requested at the reception, they have got everything you need, just have to ask. The breakfast is simple but definitely more than enough to fill you. Love the variety of breads they got. On our last day, we have to leave really early, requested to have our breakfast packed. They prepared 2 sandwiches, fruits, yoghurt drink and a bottle water. If you are taking a Long bus/train ride, this can last you for the entire ride. The only down side for this hotel is the location. It’s about 15-20 mins walk to Munich central station. There is a closer station (Stiglmaierplatz) about 5-10 mins walk, which is only 2-3 stations away from most of the attractions around. Really enjoyed our stay. Would definitely come back again.

Nice clean Hotel”
I felt very comfortable in the Hotel Erzgiesserei . The hotel is located near to the Hauptbahnhof, just one stop by subway (Stiglmaierplatz). The staff was nice, the hotel very clean and quiet and the rooms seem to be renovated not a long time ago. Breakfast was also good, there is even a terrace to enjoy breakfast outside. I would go there again.

excellent stay with a parking miscommunication”
We enjoyed our stay there very much. Reception staff were very helpful, the rooms are very clean and quiet. Breakfast is excellent with variety and quality. The only thing was parking... I mean there was parking and I used it but the (fact there was a) price was only mentioned at the last moment when leaving. I wish they were upfront with it. Maybe it is the norm in Europe to pay for parking as an extra at the hotel you stay, I did not know. Otherwise truly excellent. Close to Marienplatz, 3 stops only, although you need to change lines at Central station from U to S.

Fabulous hotel.”
Loved this hotel. Super clean, great sized rooms with good AC and nice bathroom if a little on the small side but no big deal. The staff were lovely. Breakfast was very good. There is a restaurant and bar although we didn't get the chance to use. Location is about 300m from U-bahn and only one stop from Haupbahnhof central station and S-bahn. Will definitely be staying again next time I'm in Munich.

First time traveller with family in Munich”
First time in Munich. Travelling with 2 kids and wife. Clean and free breakfast. Location is not too close but again I have nothing to compare with for hotels with similar prices. Room size is not spacious but it is okay. It has parking but not free. Driving in and out with Ford Galaxy is a challange. Any bigger car like Merc Vito, I am not sure if it can fit.

Clean, spacious hotel with basic but good breakfast”
The hotel is located in wider centre of Munich. If you drive there, you will need the environmental sticker for your car. There is limited on-street parking (6 EUR for 24 hours) and the hotel has parking spaces in an underground car park (14 EUR for 24 hours). Rooms are spacious and clean. Staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The breakfast is basic but there is the variety is good. The only negative is the lack of good coffee - we only got plain black coffee from a thermo flusk, no option of an espresso, capucino, etc.

Munchen you Legend”
Eight of us (2 families) wanted a NYE experience in Europe so we chose Munchen. Hotel was great, breakfast was great, Bar was great. Walking distance to Augustiner Kellar. Spent NYE in the Lagering Caves what a night! Massive buffet with vast quantities of Munichs finest beers. Firework display at midnight outside overlooking the ice rink, brisk but seriously entertaining evening. Perfect

Relaxed, Friendly and Great Value!”
Our time at this hotel was relaxed and enjoyable. We arrived way before check in time, but they held our bags for us so we could begin sightseeing upon arrival. The room was spacious and comfortable. The best part for us was the free bike rental and the friendly helpful staff who answered all of our questions and were very easy to communicate with. The breakfast was delicious with lots of options. WiFi is only available in the rooms for a fee, but you can get an hour free per day in the lobby. If the Internet was available in the room this would be a near perfect hotel for its price range. Would highly recommend!

Very good choice”
Nice hotel with a very spacious room and generous breakfast. Located in a quiet street within a walking distance (5 to 10 min) to the next U-Bahn (metro) station. Downtown reachable in less than 20 min. Most parking places in the underground are very narrow and one has to be careful to avoid bad surprises with your car. Also not that the parking costs 13€ a day and is not included in the booking price. I was surprised at checkout when I was asked to pay 39€ for 3 nights. I explained the situation to the person at the reception and she was very kind and canceled the 39€.

It was easy to get to, parking was convinenet but was the most expensive of all the 6 places I stayed in Europe. Staff was great, rooms super clean, great location to get to restaurants and train to get to old city and other places around Frankfurt. Would stay again but without car.

Munich christmas Market break”
Two stops on the ubahn to the top end of the Christmas Market - Karlsplatz(ice rink end of the street) . The area the hotel was in was quiet, well lit and very safe. The room was big, the beds and pillows super comfortable, the breakfast was good. The staff were all very polite and helpful. I have nothing negative to say. Hotel was brilliant.

Cozy city hotel off the main streets”
Very convenient stay at this clean city hotel which is slightly outside the main radius of all the other hotels but still only a 10 min walk to the Hauptbahnhof. Bike rental is free. Windows are small due to the shape of the building, which makes the room a bit dark in daylight. Staff is friendly and attentive. Breakfast buffet is average to good. Internet service (WiFi) is good and free in the lobby area, in the room it seems to be limited to 2hrs per day (although we didn't use it). I wouldn't mind staying here again.

Ñice hotel but staff not very friendly”
It was a nice hotel but as we knew, it was not central. We walked into the centre but also took the Ubahn. If you speak German there is no problem but negotiating the public transport could be a problem. My daughter who is 24 speaks no German and felt she would have struggles had she not had me with her (my German is pretty good). The hotel staff were efficient but not overly welcoming. They were unable to provide us with a shower cap which is unusual for a 4 start hotel and when we asked for directions, they were quite abrupt and didn't give us much time. At check out I was asked to return (having got into a taxi) as my credit card had been used only to secure our stay. I said I had paid many months ago but said that if there was a problem they had my details. I was asked none the less to go back into reception; here the receptionist then realised his mistake. I realise mistakes can happen but we were needing to catch a pre-booked train so I would have expected their cooperation in saying have a nice time and don't worry, we will email you if there is a problem. All in all, I didn't feel valued as a guest which is a pity as the hotel offered good value for money. The managers and receptionists should follow the example of the cleaning ladies who smiled and always exchanged a Guten morgen.
