Spacious apartment near Fushimi Inari Shrine”
As apartments in Japan go, the Hotel Gentle Fox Kyoto offers extremely spacious rooms complete with a bedroom, living area, kitchen, separate bathroom, and washing machine. Management was very helpful and attentive to our needs. Their recommendation for driver guides to visit the sites was spot on. When I asked about onsens, they gave me packets of minerals to put into my bath to have an onsen-style experience right in my hotel bathtub! Aside from the space, I enjoyed the cleanliness of our apartment. Best of all, this is walking distance to the popular Fushimi Inari Shrine. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable stay.

Excellent location to the beautiful Fushimi Inari Taisha—a shinto shrine that features the fox, a messenger to the gods. The Gentle Fox Hotel apartments are extremely large (especially compared to hotel rooms in Tokyo), clean, and very comfortable—the bed and pillows!--with amenities like a washer, kitchenette, and dining area. The woman working during the two days were were there was very unhelpful, bordering on unfriendly (especially compared to all our other hotel experiences throughout Japan) (a self check-in system would have been more useful and less frustrating), but we managed to find answers to our questions and solve our issues on our own, so everything worked out.

A proper den for foxes”
This was an absolutely fantastic home base for exploring Kyoto, especially if you are interested in Fushimi Inari-taisha (and let's face it, if you're looking at a hotel with 'fox' in the name, odds are good you're an Inari fan). The apartment was large and comfortable, with all the amenities you could want, and all of them new. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the location was great. A few minutes from a train station, and a few minutes more to the front torii of Fushimi Inari-taisha. Because it's so close, you can go in the evening or early morning and bypass the crowds for a lovely, tranquil, meditative walk, then return to your hotel suite for tea. I will definitely stay here again if I make it back to Kyoto.

Great Place to Stay”
We rented 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom apartment here and i can only say that i did not regret booking in Hotel Gentle Fox. The apartment is excellent, we all loved it. We were able to do our laundry, relax in a very comfy bed, cook and visit the Inari Shrine nearby. There is also a big supermarket nearby. The room was really spacious. It exceeded my expectation.

Excellent serviced apartment in a quiet neighborhood. It is in walking distance to Fushimi Inari-taisha, a must-visit in Kyoto. The apartment is near Fushimi Inari station and Inari station, we were taking trains from these two stations throughout our 6-day stay in Kyoto. The apartment is pretty new, so all equipment and furniture are in excellent condition. There are several restaurants around, but you can also buy food from nearby Life supermarket for breakfast and dinner. The 2-bedroom apartment we booked comes with kitchen and washer/dryer, excellent if you prefer to cook on certain nights and have plenty of laundry to do. The bathroom comes with heating that can be used to dry the clothes as well. The kitchen is equipped with sufficient utensils, but does not have the washing detergent, sponge and towel. The high tech water heating systems was a challenge to us, and took us two days to figure out how it works. Overall, excellent apartment and we enjoyed our stay here.

A Great Hotel”
We stayed at the 2-bedroom apartment for a night and it was great. The apartment was spacious and well renovated. The Fushimi Inari Taisha is just a short walk away from the hotel. To get to other attractions in Kyoto, you can use the Keihan Line (Fushimi-Inari Station) and JR Line (Inari Station). Both stations are well within walking distance from the hotel. The reception staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, too. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay here for future visits.

We are stayed at 2 bedroom apartment for 2 nights. The hotel is exceptional, very clean and cozy. It is not far away from Fushimi Inari shrine and train station. It is about 10 mins walking distant ( we are walking with children phase). It is very clean hotel and give special kit for my children. The bed is spacious. I will come back again if we are in Kyoto.

Comfortable, convenient place”
We had a surprisingly large suite that was like a 1 bedroom apartment rather than just a bedroom. Staffs were very nice to let us dropped off our lugguggaes upon early arrival (couldnt check in early but it was no big deal). Just as it stated the hotel located just minutes from train stations and the famous Inari shrine. There was also a local market a block down. Room got cleaned everyday. Overall, it was very nice here and we would def stay here again next time.

just 5mins walk from Fushimi-inari station to hotel and 3mins walk to Supermarket which open from 9.30am to 9.30pm. The hotel staff are nice and helpful. when go in the hotel the door will close but it not auto locked therefore you will need to lock the door yourself, if not people from outside can open. Overall the room is big with all of space, you can cook over there, everything is provided only that they did not provide dish wash soap. They provide washing machines(2in1 washing and dryer) so you can also wash your clothes.

This hotel is AMAZING!! The staff are so friendly and can speak english very well. The apartment (yes, not a room) is extremely spacious with all the amenities and facilities you need plus loads more!! You get the best nespresso coffee en the morning! You can wash your clothes and they even have a dry room...in your own apartment! The bed is also huuuuge! There is a shopping market just 200m down the road to go buy milk, fruits etc. which is so convenient! This is an absolute gem and such value for money! Would recommend this any day! Oh and it is super close to the fushime inari shrine and the train station - extra win!!

Hotel room was excellent, it’s above our expectations. Clean toilet, kitchen, room and fridge.. it’s all operated in high technology. The washing machine has dryer and it’s really useful for a family that has kids.. We were surprised that the adult and kids received a nice clean and warm pyjamas during our stay.. The staff are very friendly and prompt in answering my quarries on emails. Nearby the amenities, trains and walking distance to Fushimi Inari. And lots of best food along the road.. with accessible convenient store. Arigatooo.

The hotel is close to Fushimi inari ,5 minutes by walking, we booked a suite, so we could walk to the local supermarket to buy sashimi with very good price and fresh sea food , drink in the family room, very enjoyable, highly recommended

Great location for Fushimi Inari”
Booked last minute, close walk to Fushimi Inari Temple we booked this due to wanting to catch the sunrise there highly recommend no crowds and so close to the shrine from hotel about 7min walk. Hotel was lovely very nice size for Japan had all the essentials needed. Wish we stayed more than 1 night.

Excellent hotel stones throw from Inari”
Location was excellent. Very close to both train stations but down a quiet street so no noise in room. Big Supermarket is about 50m away and is open until late. Very clean and tidy with all new features including a smart bath. Very large bed that easily accommodated two parents and their 18month old without feeling like sardines. Best place we stayed in Japan.
