The best Kyoto hotel I’ve been in”
I will be coming back here with my partner. As a solo traveller especially during Obon, this hotel is delight of comfort, facilities (Beautiful calm sento) and location. The staff were very helpful and friendly too! Above amazing for my budget and easy favourite place to stay in Kyoto now.

Quiet Hotel Tucked Behind Main Shopping Street”
Booked this hotel for a mother/daughter trip to Kyoto. The room was quite small, but it had everything we needed. The hotel is tucked behind Kawaramachi shopping street, so food and hopping on the bus is extremely easy. Don’t miss the gourmet food court on the bottom floor of Takashimaya just down the street! Starbucks is also a 2 minute walk down the street. Covered shopping/dining is directly across the street. Kyoto station isn’t that far, but not within walking distance if you have bags. The concierge spoke English, and she was very kind in helping us with extra maps. The onsen is perfect to relax tired muscles after walking all day. I would recommend this hotel!

A high-class hotel at a bargain price! Luxurious rooms and fabulous amenities. The hi-tech shower with rain, all around, and hand spray alone is worth staying here. Great complimentary beverage service, and a 1st class breakfast. Located in the trendy downtown area, the HGBKS offers easy access to the best of Kyoto. Will definitely stay here again.

It was a nice room for couples. The shower was amazing because of the glass wall. You can see someone taking a shower if the drapes are not closed. Overall stay was amazing.

My Go-To Hotel in Kyoto”
I always end up staying here whenever I'm in Kyoto. I like that you're right in the middle of all the shops and stores. The subway station is within walking distance and you're never too far away from anywhere. You can even walk to Kamogawa River, which is about a 10-15 minute walk away from the hotel. I sometimes choose the Japanese room but this time I chose the standard western style room. The standard room is nice and comfy. I like the layout of the room. The shower room is a nice size and doesnt feel cramped. They give you free bottles of water everyday of your stay, which is rare for this price range. I also like the Japanese touches in the decor of the room. I would stay here again and again.

Good location if you want to stay in Gion. Like the public bath. Recommended food places were disappointing. Like the afternoon drinks- wish they offer in morning too.

LOCATION The hotel is centrally located at Shijo-dori, right across Teramachi which is about 3 minutes walk away from Nishiki Market and about 13 minutes walk to Yasaka Shrine. You won't have to worry about subway stations, convenience stores, drug stores, department stores, and food! Matsukiyo right by the corner, 7-Eleven, Family Mart, Bic Camera Select, Fujii Daimaru (has % Arabica), and more! Not to mention there's a Mameshiba Cafe just 3 minutes away. 10/10 ACCOMMODATION We stayed there for 4 nights for New Year's Eve. Friendly and helpful staff. Check-in and check-out process was a breeze, and we could borrow umbrellas during rainy days. Complimentary sake provided at the lobby during New Year's Day morning, and traditional soba noodles during New Year's Eve (limited time). Rooms are quite small but clean, and free access to the public hot bath on 3F for hotel guests. Didn't try the breakfast because the hotel was very well located :)

Good location downtown. Room is good and a good size, we could place 2 big luggages face up. A little tricky to finding the entrance at first, you have look for a sign and go by the alley.
