Amazingly good and touching”

This hotel has excellent location (close to bus terminal station), clean traditional Japanese room, and nice Hakuba hot springs. More, hotel owner couple are hospitable to provide service to climbers, even out-of-the-list ones. You can feel free to discuss what you need with them. I will visit Hakuba again, and this hotel is surely my first choice.

Really convenient when it comes to catching the bus to snow resorts or going back to nagano station.. rental gear also next door from hotel and Lawson and other restaurants just across the road.. Room was really spacious with the nice traditional Japanese feel, with beautiful mountain views. After a long day of boarding or roaming the area, we would take a bath at the hotels hot springs.. truly relaxing.

Exceptional”

A lovely, elderly couple ran the front desk and other than them we only saw one other staff member who was also a lovely elderly woman who was cleaning the rooms. All were extremely polite and gave beautiful greetings every time you saw them. Limited english but enough to get by. They had all the relevant reading material around the hotel that provided everything we needed to know. We had a traditional, spacious Japanese hotel room with the floor mat sleeping arrangement which was very comfortable for us. Private toilet, shower and vanity each had separate cubicles so no crowded feeling and enables multiple users at the same time. Downstairs has an excellent drying room for the snow gear. Upstairs has a great little Onsen which is included in the price and was the best therapy after each day of snowboarding. You can also watch the night skiing from it's window and reach down and grab some snow off the roof to cool you down because the water is HOT! Very quiet and very warm throughout the whole building with central heating to enjoy. Location was ideal being right next to Happo Bus Terminal which is the easiest place to catch village shuttles from, as well as the buses to Nagano and the airports. You do not hear any noise in the hotel from the bus terminal. 5 minute walk gets you to quite a few restaurants and rental gear stores as well as the Lawson convenience store which is perfect for stocking up on food, drink and water. You can save a fortune here if you wish to by substituting restaurant meals and drinks with very reasonable quality pre prepared food and beverage which you can take back to your room. There is also a restaurant on premises for breakfast and dinner, but we didn't try it out this time. A 10 minute walk gets you to all the action of the Gondola and the more happening nightspots. All up a very good quality establishment reasonably priced that we would stay at again.

EXCEEDED EXPECTATION”

Hakuba Bergland's location is fantastic, diagonally across the hotel is Lawson which operates round the clock and a bus terminal next it, Yes the hotel is not new, nonetheless well maintained and clean, at least in our room. Unfortunately some guests had forcibly dragged the table leaving unsightly marks on the tatami mats. And evidence of others who were too tired to lift their lugguage, leaving traces of the trolley wheels on the straw mats. Perhaps the owner should put up sign on how to remind the guests not familiar with dos and don'ts on these delicate "floor", The owners are simply fantastic despite their limited English vocabulary, they really went out of their way to assist. We asked for assistance to make a reservation. For whatever reason, either they were not operating or the restaurant as totally reserved, they could mot secure a table for us. The owner suggested an alternative, made a reservation and even drove us to Gravity Worx, near the Hakuba Station. Frankly the small restaurant was fantastic and reasonably priced too. Perhaps what was missing was a conditioner in the bathrooms, both the public bath and the one in the room. Understand for the omission, the rates were really reasonable. Lawson is just diagonally across.

Loveliest Hotel Owners”

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. It would have been 4 but my husband had a ski accident, broke his leg. The couple that run the hotel were more than helpful and accommodating. They looked after us so well. The hotel was very clean, great location. Just a very very short walk away from the bus to go to the mountains, the information centre. Short walk to restaurants, ski rental shops. Highly recommend it.

Fantastic stay”

we loved this hotel from day one and even extended our stay. The staff made us feel at home and the cultural experience was superb. Not to mention the prime location and facilities for us skiers. We will be back!

Hotel with Excellent Location”

The location of Berg-Land Hotel is its prime advantage. It is just next to the Information Centre which is also the bus terminus. Its little onsen pool lessen my sore body after snowboarding. The draw back is their breakfast always with cold eggs and ham. Some problems in communicating with Tanaka San in English too. However, he and his wife are so friendly.

Super location, hospitality”

Perfect logistical location next to the Hakuba Happo main bus stop and tourist information. Lovely bfast and very friendly staff (not much English, but no trouble communicating with a bit of patience on both sides). I stayed in a comfortable Japanese-style room.

ロケーション良し”

食事は食べていないので不明だが、スキーのための宿としてはバスターミナルの横、コンビニも斜め向かいなのでロケーションは宿泊施設の中では最高だと思われる。スキーのための一泊だけなら十分だと割り切れる感じ。連泊するとなるとアップグレードした宿がいいかもしれない。

旅館本身有溫泉,對面也有溫泉澡堂,隔著馬路就有早餐店,拉麵店,便利商店,隔壁還有巴士站,老闆和老闆娘也很親切,房間也很乾淨,非常不錯的旅館
