I’m staying for a week and already writing a review since I really like this place. Breakfast is pretty good and I love fried eggs. So tasty. Well-balanced menu and staff are nice. Just one thing, they should tell all guests to wear masks when they take food at breakfast. This is important. Overall, this hotel is highly recommended.

Wary of the actual bill, you pay at the hotel in person instead. But lovely location”
When I checked in I had to pay in person instead of charging to my card. he did mention they won't charge to my card either. The actual price you will pay would also be higher around 1000 yen more, which they claim was Kyoto accommodation tax. Not really sure about the actual tax amount, but i just paid as it wasn't a significant difference. Overall, place was nice and clean, I even booked the private onsen with my partner for 1200 yen for 40 minutes. Location was very good, 10-15 walking distance to Kiyomizu-Gojo and Hokan-Ji. I also booked a Kimono rental session just opposite the hotel called Ouka Kimono. Food wise, there's a family mart and 7-11 kombini opposite the street, and for main restaurant it's just one/two stations away to Gion/Sanjo for the main food shopping district.

Pleasant experience overall! Love the facilities provided: public bath, match experience, happy hour etc. Staff also tried their best to serve in English. To ensure everyone get to use the facilities, staff will ask for the time you would like to have breakfast, and you can also let them know that you want to take the public bath (time slots indicate for different gender), they will call you when it’s ready.

Staff were very nice and accomodating. Breakfast was good, had variety and was made fresh in small batches. Convenience stores just a 3 minute walk Train and bus stops were within a 5 minute walk Shrines nearby are walkable within 10 minutes, 20 minute walk to the main shopping district (trains/buses also available but I prefer to walk). Appreciated that they had cheap coin laundry and dryer, can only do a small load (4.5kg) per load so I suggest going around 6pm so there's no line. They also sell detergent in the reception for 50jpy.

We loved the size of the room especially right after experiencing a tiny room in Osaka; even the bathroom felt spacious. With tatami floor, you could somewhat enjoy the Japanese culture. It was located a few minutes walk from the metro station; not recommended during summer, but if you don't mind walking, it could be a good choice. Just a stop away from Gion, but far away from the noise. One thing I did not like was....ryokan..... there were moles at every single corner of the bath.... not that I'm super clean person, but I was seriously concerned about the hygiene. If you're not looking for ryokan, then it's a good hotel. They even offer a free drink for customers everyday during happy hour.

The hotel location is great, easy access to all restaurants and tourist attractions. The only thing I wish it could be better is: to have blackout curtains in the room because the day light starts around 0400 and I woke up every morning that time. And during the day you can’t take a nap with no curtains Otherwise everything was wonderful.

This is a good hotel let down by just a few silly things. 1) The longest check in history as the staff have to go through a list of every conceivable eventuality and give you 3 pages of blurb on facilities, rules, fines, etc; 2) Scheduled room cleaning only once every few days, my room only cleaned twice in 7 nights, the second one being my last night. Utterly false economy. 3) To use the bath and laundry you have to hand in your key at reception and get a key to the laundry downstairs. Imagine the fun of doing a laundry wash and dry with all those trips to a busy reception desk. The big bosses of this hotel chain need to rethink their control freak approach and false economising on cleaning. Change sheets and towels every few days, fine, but don't sweep the floor and clean the bathroom every day, bad, puts customers off.

La habitación era super espaciosa, la más grande que tuvimos en nuetro viaje a Japón. Nos pareció super bien de precio (pagamos alrededor de us47 la noche). Nuestro puntaje baja un poco por dos motivos: el wifi en la habitación era muy deficiente, y se ve que algo de la ventilación general de la habitación no estaba bien porque sentiamos como falta de oxígeno, cansancio. El resto todo perfecto.

Big room, clean and friendly staffs. Walkable to kiyomizudera, close to train station just 400m away. Few minimart around. Great breakfast and thank you for happy hour every evening 6-8pm. 100% recommended!!

Good for the price”
We had a corner room which was big by Japanese standards and got at a bargain price. To my surprise Breakfast was really good, limited variety but freshly made and good quality Japanese and western food. Only downside was no blockout blinds so very bright in summer and aircon was pretty noisy and fan couldn’t be turned down so for a light sleeper it was either no aircon and roast or put up with the noise.
