Good location for fun and entertainment ”
Good access to Osaka station. Just 5 stops away to USJ. Osaka loop line enables to stroll around most of tourism spots. Only the drawback is a bit of noise from railway. If not sensitive to it, it’s nice one.

Didnt know there’s underground pass from Osaka station to hotel Basement. Had to go through the road and there are several constructions. Old hotel with characteristics. Reasonable price for adjacent room with my two kids.

Nice rare triple room suitable for family”
Our stay at Hotel Monterey Osaka was the first hotel that we stayed in our 13 days Japan tour. I would say it had given us a nice first impression of Japan. The room was spacious for 3 (triple room) and we slept comfortably. We like the view from the window through which we could see the chapel (at 8th floor) within the building made for purpose of wedding ceremony. We could also see majestic Umeda Sky Building from our window. The location was great as we could easily find food around Osaka station just 5 minutes walk from the hotel. For shopping, you could find Daimaru Department Store and other shops above Osaka Station. If you would like to have more variety of food and shopping, Dotonburi is just 10 minutes Subway ride away from Osaka Station. We would highly recommend this hotel to other travelers.

I have stayed in many hotels in Osaka, mostly those very close to Umeda st. They are reasonable in price, but for a business trip I found Umeda area a bit too complicated (busy, noisy, too many sake places etc). Monterey Osaka is much more pleasant to stay with the price . It is close enough to an airport bus stop and still in quiet area. Most importantly, room and bed were all very comfortable. Umeda st. and big shopping area are within 15-20 min walking distance which is alright.

The hotel is just at the central of the Umeda underground shopping district and it is very convenience for ones to travel around Umeda Shopping District. enjoyed our stay in hotel monterey osaka. the front office staff able to speak english and are very helpful. we stayed in another hotel in namba district during our 1st 2 days in osaka. monterey was booked for the last few days when we are back in osaka from kyoto and kobe. we care off our luggage with monterey and this free us of additional luggage as well as the charges if we placed them in locker at train station. they made the effort to deliver the luggages to our room before we arrive at the hotel for the last 2 days in osaka.

We had a great time in Osaka. Hotel Monterey Osaka is a great place to stay if you want to stay in the Umeda district. If you arrive at Osaka Station, ext, cross the road and walk directly through the food alleyway (I cannot remember the name of this) and out to the other road keep going straight for about 7 minutes and you will then see the Monterey on your right. SUPER easy to get to. We didn't know this when we first arrived and we walked it the route that a car would have to drive it, which took us about 20 mins with big suitcases. Rooms were small but nicely decorated. The internet was VERY fast. Shower pressure was awesome! Very quick and easy check in. Good hairdryer. There is a starbucks right next door if you go out the right exit of the building as you leave the elevator. Explore a lot as there are so many little hidden walk ways etc, that will get you to streets quicker. I would recommend this hotel. It is so quick to get to Namba. Namba in my opinion has more happening, so if you want nightlife and 100's of food places, stay there, in the Southern side of Osaka. Anyways, I really enjoyed our stay at the Monterey. Oh and by the way Japan - I am now addicted to the bidet!!!!!

One in a Series of Excellent Boutique Hotels”
There are Monterey Hotels in several Japanese cities, and I often stay at one when travelling. The Monterey Osaka (there are two in Osaka, but this one has Osaka in its name) has an olde-worlde European feel, with lots of antiquey furnishings, flagstone flooring, genuine lace curtains, etc. Great fun. A bit pricey, but I got a special offer. The location is central but strangely bleak. In order to reach the htel from the nearest station, you have to traverse a vast subterranean mall. This is interesting for itself, but if you're main aim is to get somewhere, it's a susrprisingly long walk.

Overrall, my family and I are quite satisfied with the hotel. The staff is helpful and able to communicate in English, there is free wifi service in room, the room quite big, the hotel is clean and neat. But the vintage European style makes the hotel looks a bit old and dark. The package didn't include breakfast, but it is ok coz there are plenty of restaurant nearby and they open early. The Hotel Monterey Osaka is located in Umeda, which is just 5-10 minutes walk to the Osaka Station. There are a lot of big shopping malls, department stores and nice restaurants (cheap to fine dining) in the area. Umeda is a good choice if you plan to travel within Osaka and other cities (such as Nara and Kyoto) and it is just a 15 mins ride to the Universal Studio.

5 minutes distance from Osaka station”
The hotel is really really close to Osaka station, which is the central station for inter city train and subway. It is also close to Umeda district, with lots of shopping area, and to Umeda skybuilding which has the monumental observatory deck to see the cityline. Room size is standard size but clean, very near to train station, but not to noisy with the buzzing train. And we love how the hotel does for interior fitting and design, as well asto for the chapel. It is really romantic.

We have stayed at another Monterey hotel before in Osaka, and we found that they both have a nice chapel on premise which adds an interesting touch. The room's decor seems straight out of a medieval castle - in a good way. Room size is good. It is a short walk from the train station and we like how quiet it seems although it is very close to the train and some commercial building.

The hotel has a artistic/traditional setting with an in-built church. It is conveniently located within 5 mins walk to JR Osaka station along Sakurajima Line Small eateries & convenient stall can be found along the walkway towards JR Osaka station. It is also near to major Kita/Umeda shopping belt (e.g. Osaka Station City, Hankyu San-Bangai & etc). Hotel staff are generally friendly and speaks fluent english. The hotel also has Free in-room wireless connection.

Our twin room was a good size for Japan, very fresh, clean, and looked like it had just been renovated. Beds very comfortable and no noise to disturb sleep. Easy walk from station and window able to be opened for fresh air if required. Japanese and French restaurants have special deals for guests staying at hotel. Enjoyed the Japanese meal. Convenience stores nearby. Hotel staff all very helpful. Will be first choice for future stays in Osaka.

Nice Decoration and Theme”
I enjoyed my stay in Osaka Monterey Hotel. The room has all the basic functions of a hotel room, the theme of the hotel is more of a olden day feel. The hotel is also easily accessible from the train station. Overall, I enjoyed the hotel and the room, however the room is a little small, but the other amenities in the room makes up for it, example the big comfortable bed and the big lcd TV.

The hotel was very near Osaka Station City (Sakurabashi Exit). It only takes around 2-3 mins walk. Transportation made easy. The vintage feel of the hotel was really cool. There is even a very nice chapel. The room we got is spacious enough for two persons. The bed, bathroom (with bathtub) and heater were all good. It might be a different case if you are a tall person. Hotel staff were helpful (I guess this is common to Japanese people). It was my second time in Osaka, I'd get this hotel again when I come back.
