If you drive, it’s easily accessible. We stayed their for snowboarding purpose. You can rent snowboard and ski equipment from the rental shop downstairs. Price is really reasonable and operator is friendly . If you are staying there for a couple of days, ski storage is readily available downstairs and it’s FOC. Morning breakfast is tasty! Onsen is good with good size outdoor Onsen ! Staff is friendly! Regular free Shuttle service to ski slopes. Dinning options are available at the Main Street near by. Great choice !

Exceptional”
Great hotel in Hakuba about 10 mins walk to the main restaurants of Echoland. On the shuttle bus run to a number of ski resorts that are in Hakuba, hotel also provided a drop off service into Echoland in the evenings and for the odd day trip if you pre-book. There is a lockable drying room onsite and breakfast had great variety catering to any preference of western or traditional style food. Onsen is traditional japanese (separate genders etc). All staff very friendly and rooms well equipped. There wasn't a lot of snow when we visited so walking wasn't an issue each night to get food. If there was regular snow you would need suitable footwear or you could prebook dinner at the restaurant. Overall a great stay and would stay again. Arigato Hotel Oak Forest for an excellent stay :)

Great outdoor onsen after a long day of skiing!”
Hotel was clean, breakfast every morning was delicious. there is also a dedicated ski rental shop within the hotel with decent equipment at affordable prices. The hotel is at the beginning/end of each shuttle ride to and fro several mountain slopes. Happo-one, Goryu, Iwatake. You can ride them back and forth (though sometimes the shuttle can get quite cramp. Overall a nice hotel to stay in!

The shuttle bus into town was great and they went out of their way to help us with my daughters birthday cake , great ski rental and wonderful helpful staff at reception. Its in a good location , a 15 min walk into the main steet and at the start of the shuttle bus line to the ski slopes so always got a spot on the bus!

Simple rooms, Japanese buffet breakfast, nice indoor and outdoor onsen. Ski rentals and passes available. Ski shuttle busses at the doorstep. Walking distance to main street with restaurants and bars. Would certainly come again.

Great spot nestled in the oak forest”
This lovely hotel on first impression s looks a little outdated, and to be fair, it probably is but it's in such great condition. It's super clean, rooms are spacious ( like 32square spacious) and it has amazing views up the valley between Happo one and Hakuba 47. It's a 15min walk into town which is actually really lovely with lots of good eateries and drinking holes around. It's on an easy free bus shuttle too. Breakfast is basic but it does have a good selection of cold and hot food plus the Japanese favourite of breads and pastries. It has its own onsen too. The ski storage and dry room are awesome and they even do cheap gear hire. Staff are super friendly and helpful. It's a real gem.

We, 3 friends, enjoyed our stay at Oak Forest. Decent size room, fantastic after ski facilities, dry room and on site Onsen. The breakfast had everything you needed. They also provide free shuttle services to the surrending areas. Highly recommended.

The only onsen in Hakuba is superb. The breakfast simply amazing. The set dinner is delicious if you have a huge appetite after a day of skiing. It was a bit too much for a non skier and no doggy bags allowed. Will definitely return for the big traditional Japanese tatami mat room next to the little creek. Ask for a mountain view room. On demand shuttle buss service to anywhere you want to go and most staff speak English. Great price point...but the onsen really is the kicker for me!!!!

Above and Beyond!!!! ”
The staffs at Oak Forest are so wonderful and helped me so many times even after I checked out from the hotel. I finally know what does above and beyond stand for! Long story short, Agoda messed up with my booking the hotel did everything they can to provide what I was trying to book via Agoda. Not just that, everytime when I had a problem they always try their best to provide me a solution. I cannot even express how thankful I am! I had the chance to stay at both their Japanese room and Western room. To my surprise, both rooms were very spacious! (Japanese room was a little bigger) Everything was nice and comfortable - I also have to mention the house keepers did very good job in our room! If this wasn't in Japan I really would have left some tips for them! The hotspring was also very clean with just one suggestions - maybe putting numbers on the shelf for the slippers would help people remember which ones belong to them :) Breakfast was also very good they changed up some items everyday. Overall, I highly recommend Hotel Oak Forest and will definitely stay again when I am going back to Hakuba. Thank you so much Oak Forest!!!!

Great Echoland Ski Trip Spot”
Awesome hotel with exceptional staff. We were treated and accommodated very well. Enjoyed the breakfast and onsen as well as Ski Lockers. Despite location (a bit off beaten path), Hotel Oak Forest is extremely good about arranging shuttles for hotel guests to get all around Hakuba and also sells discounted lift tickets for Happo & Goryu. Location is about 15 minute walk from dinner spots in Echoland / 15 minute shuttle ride from Happo-One / 10 min shuttle ride from base camp bus stop. Will definitely stay here again next time were in Hakuba.

Exceptional Hotel for All your needs”
Perfect hotel and great location to most slopes in Hakuba. Facilities are on point and flexible. Only 10 minute walk into town and 40mins walk to Hakuba 47 slope if you fancy a walk. Quite enjoyable surroundings are amazing views throughout. Hotel is quiet and quaint. Would gladly return for its value and location.

We stayed at Oak Forest for three nights. The staff were fantastic and catered to our every need, including driving us where every we needed to go. We bought our ski tickets through the hotel however on the second day we lost one. The staff supplied us with another ticket at no extra charge. Highly recommended.

Great staff and onsen ”
We stayed at Oak forest for 7 nights to ski up at Happo. First morning there, we go down to hire ski gear (before 8:30am) and they have none left, which was extremely frustrating considering we had been communicating for weeks prior regarding ski hire and there had been no mention of limited supply. But staff were happy to arrange a shuttle to a hire joint of our choice, so it was inconvenient but turned out okay. Good spread at breakfast, comfortable rooms and very diligent staff in all areas of the hotel. The "Shared bathroom" turned out to be an Onsen, so if you're expecting to shower alone, that's not likely! Not a problem most days as you can go during quieter periods if need be.

Located on the border of Echoland, this hotel is in a quiet area, not too far from the cafe's/shops in the Echoland area (a short drive). The onsen that can be used by guest is amazing after a day skiing. Shuttlebus/directions/skipass etc are offered in the hotel. Breakfast is simple. It is a bit further from Hakuba valley and Happo One but since we had a car this was not a problem. Free parking next to the hotel.

Excellent service”
The staff and service at this hotel was outstanding. I had my 5 year old daughter and they ferried us via van all over town just to be nice and friendly. The hotel has excellent facilities: ski/snowboard rental, ski/snowboard storage facility, nice indoor/outdoor hotsprings and the room was extremely clean and tidy. Don't expect much from the kitchen, you need to order dinner by 10AM the same day if you want to eat there. No lunch and breakfast is a basic buffet. But it is not a big deal because echo-land is about a 5~10 minute walk or short taxi ride. There you can find a variety of restaurants and bars. I just cant say enough good things about the kind and courteous staff who really went out of their way to help us.

There are shuttle bus to any ski resort ex. happo-one, hakuba 47,. some ski resort you need to connecting at bus terminal. I like this hotel because it is first station the bus always available .
