Location is great bec it is in a quiet back (but clean!) alley but near everything. It's a 10-15 minute walk to the Barcelona Cathedral, the Gothic Quarter, La Boqueria & the wharf, etc. A block away from nice restaurants, bus stops (esp to Sagrada Familia & hop on-hop off bus stops) & less than a 5 minute walk to Estacion Franca. Rooms are very clean, breakfast is ok & same every morning. Staff are courteous.

Hotel Santa Marta is centrally located, approx. 5 minutes walk from the beach, 15 minutes from the bottom of Las Ramblas and 5 minutes walk to the Zoo. It's located down a quiet street, so great for those who are light sleepers. The negatives (if you can call them that); the hotel is 2*, so there is no fridge, tea or coffee facilities, iron or ironing board, water by the bed or chocolates on the pillow in the room. The positives: the room is very clean and a good size. I was in a room with twin beds, with aircon (remember to put the card key in the card holder), a good sized TV and a small desk/chair. The bathroom is lovely and you get bathroom 'smellies' in the form of shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc. The staff are great nothing is too much trouble, they are very informative and helpful in terms of helping you organize a bus trip, restaurant, booking taxis, etc. All in all I think it's a great little hotel and I would happily stay there again.

Simple basic rooms with a/c and clean bathrooms. Great location. Close to old town and 15-20 minute walk to the beach. Also 5 minutes walk to Barceloneta metro. Poor selection and poor quality breakfast so would recommend eating near the beach or at cafes in old town which is much nicer. The hotel can be noisy with other residents. Best to book early to ensure a cheap stay otherwise prices go up quickly and may therefore not be value for money.

Clean, comfy, great location and great staff”
It’s tucked in a corner in the beach side suburb of Bon. Although 2 star, more feel like at least 3 star hotels. Friendly staff, spotless clean, modern, and great location next to the beach, a big park, walking to landmarks such as Barcelona cathedral. Bus D20 to the amazing plaza España, V19 to Park Gurell( designed by Gaudi). We even walked to the most famous Sagrada Família. A joy to walk but you can also take bus to there. Public transport is amazing in Barcelona, 1 euro each trip ( buy T-10 card) and very frequent even on weekends. The only downside of our stay at this hotel is we booked a double room but the beds were 2 single ones when we arrived. They changed the beddings next day but the two single beds kept sliding away from each other. ( I believe they do have proper double bed beddings to keep them together, but we didn’t get it. That’s tough for 5 nights. Breakfast is so so, typical hotel fair. Cheap price but not good quality. Suggest to decide after you get there

This is a bargain for the price. The rooms are small, but I was traveling alone so it was fine for me. The rooms are not brand new but they are not too old either, perfectly fine, like staying in a budget chain motel in the US. The location is around the corner from the Barceloneta yellow line metro, quite close to Born and the Gothic Quarter. Many restaurants are nearby, and the location is a good compromise between beach and old city. The best part is I had an early flight out, and the 0457 train from the Franca station next door is direct to the airport in about 40 minutes. (I think most of the other trains connect via Sants, still quite easy.)

A Good stay”
Room was noisy at night, right above a small square. Trash collection, skateboards, etc. made a lot of noise in the 4th floor room. The AC had also been turned off for winter and couldn’t be used during the unseasonably hot days. The room itself, bathroom and overall facility was great, however, as was the €5 breakfast offered. Location is right around the corner from the Barceloneta metro and there are good restaurants in the area.

Wonderful staff, clean, very quiet, yet right in the heart of a vibrant part of Barcelona. Close to excellent beaches, restaurants, night life. Room darkening curtains very good, windows eliminated street noise effectively, so we slept very well. Modern updated bath, very nice. Didn't try the breakfast as there were so many other options right in the neighborhood. Short walk to metro. Excellent brewpub only a few blocks away. Try the Claudia IPA!

Location was great, literally 100 Mts from metro and Train station and about 7-10 mins walk to Barcelona each. Room lacks some basic amenities but again it is a 2-star hence cool. No complaints but just so you are aware - No water -Small Charge for Using the safe - No Minibar or Room service

Perfect for Stacio De Franca”
If travelling from Stacio De Franca or wanting to stay in and around the beach area of Barceloneta, then book this hotel. It is modern, clean and the staff are very welcoming and smartly dressed. The rooms are a good size and on quiet back street. The only down side that I had found was that weres no tea and coffee in the room. Overall, a hidden gem and I would stay again

A little gem in the heart of the city!”
A great little hotel in a superb location a few minutes from the Marina and Beach. Rooms are clean and modern, staff friendly and helpful, nice and quiet but within easy reach of all the attractions and hustle & bustle of the city. Close to a metro station and walkable to the Las Ramblas, the Gothic Quarter and Picasso museum etc. Breakfast is fairly basic but more than adequate. Good value for money overall.
