Location is ideal. 1 block to river cruise docks and another block to Chain Bridge. Short walk to St. Stephens and Vaci and Andrassy street shopping. Many good-to-fine restaurants within easy walk. Close to Parliament. Walk to Buda side is not bad, funicular to top of Castle Hill is just other side of Chain Bridge making it easier to get to Matthias church and the Bastion without taxi. The hotel is interesting. 4 sided - 6 story block built around a glass-covered atrium. All rooms face into the atrium. Don't know about the higher-grade rooms, but the standard rooms are smaller than they appear in the ads with single-bowl sink in bathroom. Breakfast is very good - served in the Costes restaurant. All the staff is friendly and professional.

This was a very good hotel for the right price. Nice and clean and friendly staff. The hotel is very close to the subway and it was easy to get from a to b. Close by you can find a small street with a couple of nice restaurant. The hotel have a nice pool, but in our case is was a extra charge. The room was perfect, and the bathroom was good with hot water and a good speed, and the best of all it was a none smoke hotel,,,in room. I was even suprised with the mirror in the roof, first time for and my girlfriend. I put a fice star at the restaurant, but we never eat there, it should be I dont know in instead 1 for bad or 5 for good.

mercure city center hotel is ideally located in very center of budapest, in famous vatci utca (main pedestrian street) where lot of h palaces, places of interest, restaurants and shops can be found. well known bridges connecting banks of danube river are in close proximity as well. it’s walking distance to all attractions and museums. hotel is very well managed, great service, rooms are very spacious, clean with refrigerator, safe, good aircon system, modern bathroom, but bed could be more comfortable (too soft mattress is not what i prefer). hotel provides free wireless and can arrange taxi to pick you up/take you to the airport - one way 23 euros). next to hotel is excellent italian restaurant which i would warmly recommend (avoid those restaurants with "traditional cuisine" on huge square situated right from hotel and next to new shopping mall, its lousy food there, not worth the money!) budapest is definitely one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but 2 -3 days will be quite enough to see the most important city can offer. i would definitely stay again in hotel mercure city center if i go again to capital of hungary ! please note, if you want to stay in very center, make sure you booked “mercure city center hotel” since there are several “mercure” hotels in the town.

We had a lovely stay. We walked to the markets, across the Chain Bridge to the funicular which took us up to the Castle, Cathedral and Fisherman's Bastion. We walked to the "pedestrian area" or mall where we could easily change money and shop. And the tram stop was right outside the front door with access to any other area of the city. I'm so pleased we selected this hotel particularly as the discount for early online booking gave us "luxury" that we could afford.

The hotel is located on the Pest side on a pretty quiet street, but just one street over is the main shopping street Vaci, and a 10 minute walk from the city center. The complimentary breakfast is beyond what I would ever expected from a hotel, with a wide variety of foods and drinks that is constantly being replenished, a coffee machine boasting different varieties of milk for all tolerances, and a fresh squeezed orange juice machine. Eating breakfast at this hotel kept my appetite satisfied well into the afternoon. Finally, the front desk staff were some of the most polite and helpful hotel staff I have ever encountered. They happily gave recommendations, put up with making and changing many reservations for us, and most importantly, called everyone necessary to find my missing luggage, and persevered despite being given unhelpful answers, went on to find my luggage and make sure I had it before my flight out.

This was our first trip to Budapest and oh boy did we love it. Firstly when you book your room ask for a river view as its so beautiful to watch the boats pass back, the museum from across your room is breathtaking. Now if you ask for the Executive room you will have a splendid view of the river and life below on the street from the Club Lounge. This hotel is walking distance to the Parliament House, Chain Bridge and the former Royal Palace plus some of the local shops and restaurants. How often can you find someone who really enjoyed their job and we found Marietta from the Spa having just that. Its like oozing out of her and one cannot but help to have some spa treatment from her (of course we bought loads of products too). The staff at the Executive Lounge became like family as we saw them most of the time. Like at Hilton Millenium Seoul we actually saw the General Manager at the kitchen and talking with the doorman. Intercontinental Budapest has made our stay at Budapest one of the most memorable one and I encourage anyone going to Budapest to stay at this hotel (its so close to the riverfront). Well done Intercontinentl Budadepst and Marietta (you have got a fan here!!!)

When I was about to check in I was told there was an error in my reservation - the days was offset by one day and they had expected my arrival the day before! However, without any argument the receptionist kindly offered to correct the booking free of charge, even though the fault was not at the hotel. I was amazed they didn't use the situation to cash in a few extra $$ but I guess it shows their dedication in making the stay as pleasant and free of troubles for the traveler as possible. A big star in their book for that! As for the rest of the stay, it was worth every cent. The location is about perfect for Budapest, close to the river, the main shopping street, and right next to the metro and trams. The rooms was very well cleaned and even though small (they warn about this on their page) the space is well used so they don't feel that small. And the breakfast was very well for being free of charge. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended! (Business travelers beware, there is a computer at the lobby and a free wi-fi hotspot, but the wi-fi does not work from the rooms.)

The staff in reception was still friendly even I arrived the hotel after mid night (I did state for late check-in in the booking). It is less than 5 minutes walking distance to metro station - Ferenciek tere. There is a supermarket (Match) nearby and also very close to shopping street - Vaci utca. Room is a bit old and small but clean and tidy, good enough for budget traveller like me. If you live on second floor with big or heavy baggages, then you may need to carry them upstairs.

Great location, value for money and comfortable room. Stayed in a studio which are one of 3 in a separate flat on Puskin street around the corner, but they are just a few minutes walk from the hotel building - but something to bear in mind when checking in late. Room had Jacuzzi bath and kitchen and was immaculately cleaned every day, towels always replaced. Staff were very helpful in checking in and booking the shuttle buses for the airport. Had full control of heating so room stayed warm. Would definitely stay here again if travelling to Budapest.

We stayed here during new year. It was a really nice experience, large room, soft beds and a jacuzzi. The tv had loads of channels (though pretty small for the room size) and the complimentary wine was a nice touch. Yes the entrance isn't pretty, the elevator a bit shabby(there are stairs) and entering for the first time is quite hard. The staff is excellent, always helpful and kind. We had a room in the front from which you could hear some street noise but that didn't bother us at all. So the rooms location and staff are nice, nothing beats that price

Greetings from Pakistan!! I was traveling with my wife and a three and a half year old son. I initially booked the hotel for two nights and later on extended it for another two days. The extension of my stay was done without any hassle. The hotel is beautiful and the room had everything that we needed. The staff was super super friendly and they were so kind to us and especially to my kid offering candies and spoiling him all the time. The breakfast was enough for us, that we didn't need to have lunch. The lift was slightly old, but it works perfectly alright. The washroom was modern, and the rooms were very clean. The best part of this hotel was its location. It is very very central, and you can see many places within your walking distance. Also, you can find a super market very close to the hotel, and a delicious "Istanbul Doner Kebab" is also available within your walking distance. I would not mind staying there once again, if I travel Budapest once again.

Special thanks to Judith the girl in reception, very kind and helpful. Everybody speaks English, rooms a bit small, but they were very nicely renovated, new bathroom, comfy beds, the breakfast is worth of a 5* hotel, the nice lounge with free coffee and tea is a very nice touch, we could walk to the shopping streets, 2 blocks to take the hop in hop off, walking to the river, to the market, excellent location in a quiet street with not much traffic. We will stay here if we come back to Budapest, without a doubt

It was right next to Four Seasons Hotel and we could see the chain brigdge from the street in front of the hotel. It was only a couple of minutes walk to the bridge. It was also close to the metro station. Walking distance to many siteseeing places like St. Stephan cathedral. There were nice streets with lots of good restaurants near by. The room has a large living room and a bed room, which was large enough for two of us. The hotel staff was all very helpful and friendly. I'd recommend this hotel to any friends who will visit Budapest.

Before I review this good hotel, I want to warn who reads this against a restaurant where we were ripped off. The restaurant's name is Buborék Bisztro and its address is Dorottya utca 8 (this is very near to that known square called Vörösmarty Tér). If you ever eat there, beware of prices of wine because they charged us 3500HUF = 16US$ for just a glass of wine (it was our fault not to ask beforehand how much this would cost -we just assumed that it would cost what a glass of wine normally costs all over Western Europe-, so they took advantage of our "innocence" to ripp us off). Now, with reference to the City Hotel Pilvax, we were very satisfied with the location (it's in the heart of Pest, very close to Ferenciek Tere metro station which line is perfect to get to the airport), with the staff (very nice people), with the room and with the breakfast. The room was not so big but its size was enough for the two of us (picture attached). It was very clean, it had 2 comfortable beds, good heating, a not so big but very clean bathroom (picture attached), a convenient wardrobe, a couple of chairs, a desk, a normal TV set (not flat screen) and a small refrigerator. The sleeping quality was also good. We didn't hear any noise at all from other rooms and neither from the pedestrian street where the hotel is located even when our room was on the first floor (there is no elevator). In regards to the breakfast, we loved the breakfast room (see attached picture) and also the breakfast which offered much more than a usual continental breakfast. There was scrambled egg, small hot sausages, 4 types of bread, pieces of tomates and other vegetable, 2 types of cheese, several types of cold meat and cold sausages, butter, 2 types of jam, yogurts, bananas, apples, oranges, cereals, cold milk, hot milk, tea, coffe and fruit juices. Finally, let me mention as well that in the hotel lobby they have a computer for guests (and there is also wifi).

We had such a nice stay at Hotel Parlament. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms and hotel were clean and nicely decorated. The breakfast was lovely. We even managed to use the spa one afternoon, it was tranquil and relaxing. Nice attnetion to detail too, like free umbrellas to borrow and daily papers and magazines by the bar. The area is nice and quiet but it's a nice 15 minute walk to all the cool bars or main shopping streets. Would highly recommend!!

The hotel is located just at Astoria metro station, so I wouldn’t be bothered to walk so long to find hotel, the hotel itself is quite historic and well decorated old fashion, receptionist is helpful with checking in-out and I’ve just noticed that there’s bellboy, who stand and wait for asking not offering some help lifting luggage or escorting you to room, well historic hotel and with this service culture tends to authentic luxury European, i surely expected something coz of the hotel standard, the room I got is decorated old fashion as well but Big bathtub and comfy bed just pillow is too small for me fortunately I booked double room and stayed there alone so it was fine , I rather go to Eurostars hotel where is located just a minutes walk from this hotel but more modern and pillows are far better

I should start by saying the staff is extremely helpful and accomidating. When I arrive they were over booked and had made arrangements for me to stay elsewhere. (I was put in Marmara after the first hotel I was to stay at was overbooked.) The hotel was very clean and the bed was comfortable. However, I was a bit shocked to find out that a hotel billing itself as a four star hotel did not have somethings a basic as Wifi or the complementary water and tea/coffee in the guests rooms. There is internet access via eithernet cable or tv that you can pay to use in the rooms. That said, they could not get the internet to work in my room. It was winter and the heater was on max - so no worries about being cold here. I spent the night with the window open trying to keep from sweating in the room. The hotel is quiet but dark in the hallways and rooms. The hotel is located near one of the main streets and a metro stop making it easy to get about the city. Despite all the frustrations associated with my staff, the staff honestly did their best to solve any problem that arose and I do appreciate that helpfulness.

A medium sized hotel on a quiet side of a busy pedestrian street. Very quiet, very friendly. The rooms are smallish but adequate, seem to be recently renovated, clean and well kept. It in the very center of the city, a short walking distance from the Danuve and City Market. No coffee/tea corner, but plenty of coffee shops around. The breakfast is good. No free wi-fi, but you can purchase per-access wi-fi at a reasonable price. A very good value for money.

We only spent one night after our Viking cruise and were very pleased with the Gerloczy. It was recommended by my wife's sister when they had stayed there a couple of years ago. It in a great location, close to restaurants and shopping, however, why go elsewhere to eat when the hotel has great food and the staff are outstanding! We arrived early and our room was not ready, so we decided to do a walking tour beforehand and left our luggage with the pretty desk clerk. Sorry, I do not remember her name, but when we returned our luggage was already put in the room. Must say, all in all, a wonderful experience!

We were only here for one night so did not use the internet (not free) or food service. The staff was helpful but we had a hard time getting there in our car as Budapest has a lot of one way streets, pedestrian streets and construction in the area. No one could really help us figure out a way to get our car to the building. Parking was safe and convenient but take the travel book's advice and leave your car at home. These apartments are close to a great shopping area with some of Budapest's historic cafes very close by. Very convenient to sights.

This was one of the best hotels I've ever visited. I'd chosen it for its high rates in online travel services and I wasn't disappointed. The rooms were cosy, nicely decorated with a modern feeling, and quite roomy. Room service was also very good. One of the greatest aspects of this hotel, other than its services and friendly stuff, is its location; it sits two blocks from the Danube river, and just one block from the start of the venerable Vaci street. It's also very well connected, with bus and metro stations right across the street, and a tram station one block away. My only strife was with the hotel's WiFi; the signal in my room was too low and the network kept disconnecting. The hotel stuff provided me with a UTP cable, but it turned out that either the cable was bad or the RJ45 plug was dead. On the other hand, the signal was quite good in the hotel lobby and restaurant/cafeteria. Another minor shortcoming was that the room windows had no shutters but just light curtains and rooms from the two wings of the hotel were facing each other.

Location is central. Just off Vaci street which is the main shopping street in Budapest. You can also walk towards the river and catch great views of the Buda Palace. There are two nearby subway/metro terminals (one which is direct from the train station). St. Stephen Basilica and Dohany Street Synagogue are walking distance. Rooms are comfortable and modern - think it is a popular choice for business travelers. Wifi is free. We didn't pay for breakfast, but there is a good bakery just next door - so you can get good breads.

First, the staff at the hotel are incredible. Quick to arrange anything you want. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the location is absolutely perfect, right opposite the Chain Bridge. Its the kind of hotel you look forward to coming back to. Room and bathroom are also very nice. Beakfast was good but the hot food, eggs, pancakes, etc. were a little below par. Charcuterie is excellent. And the bar makes wonderful cocktails.
