The hotel is situated near the Opera House and is within walking distance of Saint Stephens Basilica and the Hungarian Parliament. The street it is located on has some lovely restaurants and bars. (not noisy). The staff at the Opera-Garden are very helpful. Virginia on reception was excellent she quickly printed off our return boarding details for flying back to the UK. I borrowed an adaptor for my mobile phone. The reception staff also booked tickets for a tour of the Parliament for me and provided a 3am wake up call. Breakfast was varied with an excellent choice of cereals, yogurts, fresh fruit, pastries, cakes, breads, cold meats, cheese and much more. Hot food can be ordered as well as bacon, eggs etc. A great choice of hot & cold drinks including smoothies. Even coffee to 'go'. The bedroom was clean & comfortable we stayed in 405 which was on the top floor and quiet. The roof top area was nice but sadly the view was just of buildings. Nothing spectacular. I would definately recommend staying at the hotel it was perfect for our 4 night stay. I would like to say thank you to everyone who made our stay a happy one.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Great location, good facilities, very nice breakfast. Excellent value. The only slight issue we had involved our triple room for 3 adults. The air conditioning was not working in the room and it was very hot outside. At first, the staff was insistent that the a/c would start working if we just gave it more time, and they had no other triples available for the night. Finally, at around 11pm, they agreed to allow us to move to two double rooms for the first night, and then they moved us to a different triple room for the remaining 3 nights of our stay. So, it worked out fine in the end, but was just a bit aggravating at first. Again, I highly recommend this hotel if you don't want to pay lots of money for good, 3 star hotel.

We literally could of been in a 4 star +hotel , well kitted out room with anything you need for a safe catering holiday as well as having the option of the use of the fantastic gym and spa facilities. Location was great and you been only a short walk from the main high street and bus routes. The staff were always polite and great to ordering us legitimate registered taxi's that had sent prices ( NOT free lancing Vehicles). Excellent value for money and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone including my family and friends.

Very good location, right in the old centre of Budapest and good access with the subway Octogon. Nearby are lots of pubs and restaurants, the opera and a supermarket. The staff was friendly and helpfull, spoke good English and had maps for tourists at the reception. The rooms are basic but clean, soft beds, good showers and soap available. You can have breakfast there but there is a cheap sandwichbar at 500 mtrs aswell. Good value for what we paid! Nice!

The hotel itself was quiet and clean and in a good location. What set it apart, though, was the quality of customer service I received. The desk receptionist,, spoke excellent English and assisted me in finding the price, directions, and time of a local Budapest soccer game. He went out of his way to answer all of my questions, pinned the most important places on my map so that I wouldn't get lost, gave me step-by-step instructions on how to get there, looked up the game time to find out when I should arrive, and even made recommendations for local cuisine in the area of the soccer stadium. Checking in and out was painless and easy. The front desk receptionists gave me concise directions on how to get to the airport by train and even sold me the proper bus ticket to get between the train station and airport. I didn't spend too much time in the hotel since I was out in the city most of the time. However, I was happy with the quality of the rooms, beds, cleanliness, and the patio which gave a nice view of the city in the morning.

2 reasons why people would book this hotel . location which is good and 15 min walk from evety thing in city centre and s hop on hop bus right within the building. which is correct . The other is the photos showing a beautiful Thai room . not correct. not all rooms are Thai and many people get swayed by this and what they get is ordinary room. Either charge lower or mention it in your site so guests don't feel let down. That said my room simple but was clean , had AC which I suggest is must if you go in June as it is hot and not all hotels may offer it . room was clean, housekeeping prompt , and reception polite and efficient. The downside is that the hotel is located on the first floor of an old building ( most hotels in budapest are ) but the reception is on first floor and it took me 2 trips up and down with my my luggage to figure that out as there is a hostel on the same floor with a rude guy who did not care to point me the right entrance . But I guess the reception knows it and responded immediately to my missed call. The entrance to building is poorly lit , little dark and gloomy , but discreete, and looks like a hostel than a hotel. The rooms were very clean but there is a balcony which was locked So it all boils down to value for money which is average here . But maybe the other rooms are large and beautiful ad the the site photo says but the management/ abode site should address this issue . I would give it 3 stars , for location, efficient reception , cleanliness .

Given its location on a high-end street full of designer shops, the Opera House etc, this hotel is excellent value for money. It is a beautiful building with a gorgeous central atrium and lobby. Rooms are very comfortable and stylishly decorated. Buffet breakfast was very good, albeit the dining area is a little tight for so many guests to move around the buffet table. Not a huge problem but some may find a bit uncomfortable and frustrating. Overall a great experience - if and when we return to Budapest, we would not hesitate to stay here again.

hotel is located on the very center of Budapest though a little away from the most nearby subway station to main railway station but very close to the national opera and several fancy wineries and restaurants. rooms are clean and minibar beverages' prices are fair also. complimentary breakfast makes another half star on value for money. one of the best options for staying in Budapest!

This is the best place in Budapest to stay. The location ist absolutely perfect - it's located between the most popular sights like the Basilika, the Synagoge and the Vörösmarty Tér. You can reach all these points in around 5-10 minutes by foot. The staff is really friendly and the rooms are nice and clean. The bed is so comfortable and it's quiet outside so that you'll have a good sleep. The breakfast makes all your wishes come true! There is almost everything to eat. You can get 3 different types of croissants, doughnuts and you can also have eggs, backed beans or sausages, cake, fresh fruits,.... I would definitely come back to this hotel and recommend it to everyone! Never had such a good hotel for such a good and fair price.

The hotel is located in Benczur utca, in a very quiet and nice area of Budapest, just 3-4 minutes walk from busy Andrassy street, between Bajza utca and Hosok ter (Heroes' Square) metro stations (Yellow line M1). We booked 2 standard double rooms. Unfortunately, not all of them had air-conditioning. Anyway, very polite and professional staff of the hotel helped us to get the room with air-conditioning. Besides, they helped us a lot with other questions. I would especially like to point out and thank staff of the reception He is a real professional and very good man! The hotel also offers free safe in the reception, free internet access in the lobby (hotel computer and wi fi, if you have your own computer). Breakfast is quite good, the restaurant is big enough, clean and cozy.

It was good enough for me and my 16 years old son. We stayed for two nights during Sziget music festival. You really get excellent value for the money paid but don't expect anything fancy. The rooms have mobile air conditioner units that are a bit noisy but who cares, they do the job. Wifi worked just fine. There was an old 4:3 tv with 50 hungarian channels, we used it as a background light. If you are lucky, you can park the car for free in nearby Andrassy street. If not, arm yourself with coins to pay for parking in front of hotel (you pay from 8:00 till 18:00h) and that is way cheaper then parking in some garage. And it's easy to find the hotel by car if you enter the center of Budapest by crossing the Petofi bridge from the east side. You cross the bridge and just drive straight until you reach the Oktogon square and then turn right to Andrassy street and the second street to your right is Hunyady street with a small park with a fountain. The hotel is on the other side of park.

The Ibis Hotel is a friendly structure, very minimal in its approach reminding the typical hotel design of northen Europe. The rooms are spatious, tidy and brightly illuminated although they are equiped with minimal furniture. As a downside we noticed the lack of minibar (at least in our room, on the 5th floor). The bed was very comfortable and both the bed and bath linen were clean. Hotel staff is distinct, helpful and professional. We had a smooth experience with the reception desk. As to breakfast, this is really poor as for the variety of foods provided while the machine-made cappuccino is far too sweet in our opinion, hence we didn't enjoyed much. On the contrary the restaurant (the same room serves as breakfast room in the morning and resto for the rest of the day) is very good. The menu doesn't provide a wide selection of dishes but whatever you choose to eat is really good, tasty and comes in an abundant portion as well. Prices are very reasonable and fair. We chose this structure because of the location which is pretty advantageous: right behind the Budapest Zoo (5 min. on foot) and the the excellent Budapest Park, where you find two lovely small ponds and some really nice restaurants. More importantly, when you cross the park (on your left side) you reach the famous and most popular Thermal Baths in Budapest, Szechenyi. Also the hotel is really close to the Heroes Square which is reachable in more or less 5 minutes on foot and there there is also the Metro station (Line 1). Nearby there are a couple of really good local restaurants (albeit a little more costly than other places) and an exquisite Italian bar/pizzeria run by Italians themselves. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Ibis Hotel and we definitely feel like suggesting it.

The K+K Opera Hotel is basically set up for business travelers, with a section devoted to PCs. Breakfast was rather expensive, but considering the neighborhood, was the best (and only) deal around and very bountiful. The hotel is located one block from the Opera building..in front of that is a pick up place for a variety of Hop on Hop Off competing companies. We chose the "original one" and were pleased with the 48 hour option, allowing us to take one loop the first day on the red bus, and the second loop the second day on the yellow bus, including a boat trip on the Danube..There is a grocery store within a few blocks walk from the hotel and a few restaurants in the neighborhood.

A small hotel full of character and charm. Whilst it may not have the facilities of the usual ' chain brand' in this price bracket, this is more than compensated for by the friendly and helpful staff. The bedrooms were varied in style and cared for by the exceptional housekeeping staff. An excellent buffet styled breakfast can be had in the brick vaulted and panelled dinning room and there was a fitness suite, for those who can't manage without! The location was excellent with easy access to the Metro system and other means of public transport, a short walk from the theatre district and Andrassy utca. A quirky but delightful hotel, where it's easy to forget that you are not in the 1920's, and one to which I look forward to returning soon. My only regret was that there was no live music to complete the general theme. I would thoroughly recommend Cotton House to anyone who is looking for that somewhere different Chris Newitt

I visited with two friends. The hotel was excellent value for money. There were four full single beds in the room and we'd been expecting one of us to have to sleep on a pull out so that was a bonus from the start. Perfect location as a central base for a city break. Easy to reach from the main train station on the tube and the staff were really helpful in booking an excellent taxi for us for our return trip via the airport. Clean facilities. Only draw back was the shower as the hose was broken so it was difficult to stabilise. Ideal breakfast to start the day with lots of choice; it stayed open later than 10 am for those days when you need a little lie in. In walking distance to lots of nice restaurants and bars. This was one of the absolute best rooms we ever had in our 25 countries that we travelled. It is 90 seconds (i timed it) to the absolute center of budapest. The room was unbeleivable. we had the 1 bedroom it was huge, like bigger than our appartment at home with everything. coffee maker like in north america, washer for clothes, seperate toilet and shower, full kitchen with dishwasher and full living room, dvd player and our room had a balconz with a view of st stephen and for teh price...i am still in shock that we got to stay there for that price. we never expected to do laundry nor did we book for that reason, but it was very nice that all our clothes are clean now as we leave and the coffee maker and cooking our own bfast in the morning saved us a ton of money. the location is like i said in the center. the 3 metro lines cross just 90 seconds from the hotel. unbeleivable. finding the hotel is a bit strange because thes signs are small but once you have you will love it for sure.

I have found this hotel totally by chance. Previously I decided to stay in a budget hotel. Then I have found Mirage Fashion Hotel almost at the same price. I could not believe how is that possible. When I arrived to the It's a brand new exclusive four star hotel with beautiful interior design next to the city park. Free wireless internet is available in room, spacious bathroom, minibar, safe, coffee and tea facility, flat TV, huge comfortable bed, very friendly staff. There is only one thing which I didn't like - a breakfast buffet. It was very basic and it's definitely not worth 10 euro. It's better to eat it in a cafe or restaurant. I truly recommend this hotel to everybody who likes luxury at reasonable price and I hope to be back.

The hotel has a great location in between the city center of pest and the park with zoo and swimming pool. Around the corner is the terror museum in the old KGB head office. Public transport nearby (also tram 6 wich runs at night). The beds in hotel are ok, room is clean (you have to ask for cleaning otherwise they don't clean!). Breakfast is not included and is expensive (EUR 8) for Budapest. But near the hotel are many restaurants wich provide breakfast too. During our visit they were still building the hotel and in the morning there can be a lot of noise. Overall for the low price the hotel is okay.

We are a couple from Hong Kong and originally has booked an apartment in Budapest, turns out the apartment has technical problem and cannot accommodate us in the last minute, Agoda was helpful enough to offer us an upgrade to this Hotel at no extra cost. We were greeted by a reception in suit and tie the moment we stepped out of the lift, and were treated with warm smile when we went to the front desk for check-in. The reception is exceptionally helpful, even recommended and booked a nice restaurants for us to dine! He also informed us a better way to travel to the airport by public transport after we told him how we plan to get there. All in all, the staff deserves nothing less of a 5 star. The hardware is equally impressive, the decor is in neo-classical European style, with fancy sanitary wares (I worked in the interior-renovation business so I know when I saw good hardware), gold/bronze plated faucet and German brand water closet, even comes with big flat screen TV an a Marshall bluetooth speaker that gives great sound. I mean, come on they even provided us with Italian made Black Caviar shampoo and soap!! The window opened to the side of the Opera House with partial street view, and the room is air conditioned. Bed is comfy and lots of pillow in case you want a lot of them. Again, the hardware deserves a 5 star The booking also comes with free welcome champagne and free buffet breakfast downstair in the cafe. Food choices is limited but the taste is good. They open specifically for the hotel guests in the morning and so the cafe is quiet and clean, restaurant decor is also nice and with an antique feeling to it. Location is top notched, right outside Opera Metro station (literally right outside, less than 50 paces away), and about 20 minutes walk to most scenic location on the Pest side of Budapest, including the Danube riverside. Take the metro and you will be at the most famous Thermal Bath in Budapest in 4 stations (that's roughly 20 mins also).
