A beautiful new hotel in a good location. Only about 5 mins walk from Kyoto Station east exit where the Mcdonald’s is. I used this hotel as a base for my travel to other parts of Japan and Kyoto. Spent total 7 nights there, no major issue nor complaint. Quiet and less crowded area near Kyoto station. Near a Donki outlet too. Good service. Clean room. Room is well decorated and bathroom cleverly designed. Have ample space and comfortable for 2-3 pax. Bed is comfortable enough too. Only thing is there is only one restaurant. However this is not a big issue as there is a range of dining options in Kyoto Station and if you come back too late for dinner at the station there is a 7-11 just right beside the hotel. Would highly recommend this hotel.

It's a brand new 5 star hotel (opened in September 2017). The location is just perfect for us as we had gotten the hotel to make most of our restaurants reservations, mostly around the GION district area. Quite a number of sightseeing places (famous Shrines & Temples) are within walking distance. It is especially good for us as we can walk off the calories after our lunch and before heading back to hotel to freshen up and then for dinner. The room size is pretty good and everything is so new and clean.. even the hotel smells good too! Room rate is considered reasonable given the high rates in most hotels in Kyoto. Overall,we are happy and satisfied with the stay at Celestine Kyoto Gion. The only problem (not big though) is you have to be rather patience with the staff if communicating in English with them. Anyway, will definitely stay at this hotel again.

The hotel is right across the Kyoto Station after you exit the Shinkansen gates so you will never get lost especially if it is your first time in Kyoto. Eating places abound the area -- from the vast choices inside the Kyoto Station to the big Aeon Mall that is practically attached to New Miyako Hotel to the rear right side of the hotel. And if these facilities should be closed after 10pm or 11pm -- there is always the 7-11 and Lawson that are open 24x7 right across the hotel on the station side. You will never be late in any of your appointments as the trains, subway, buses are right across the street -- you will have more time to relax and rest instead of walking long distances to reach transport take-offs.

I've booked a Kyoto Style room and the room was amazing. Their green tea teapot was so cute. They provide very complete bathroom amenities. this hotel has a strategic location near Kyoto station and also Kyoto bus terminal. They also have a shuttle bus from and to Kyoto station every 15 minutes. Their shuttle bus driver was very kind and polite. Their Kyoto style room also provide Kimono's pajamas and a Nespresso machine.

We are a family of 3 adults and stayed 5 nights on this trip to Kyoto. We wanted a hotel near kyoto station as we were planning to visit the nearby places around Kyoto. This hotel works out perfectly with our given budget and needs. Hotel New Hankyu is just across the road from Kyoto station and Bus terminal. You can even step into the underground Portal Dining walkway (just outside the hotel) to get to the station side to avoid getting wet on rainy days. There are many food places around and good shopping also. We did all our shopping from Isetan, Yodabashi Camera & all the souvenir shops level 1 of Kyoto towers. We also use buses to travel within Kyoto daily as the day pass of ¥500 is really worth it. Our only complain this trip was that the room, though already big by japanese standards, was perfect for 2 people but because we had 3, the extra bed took up the extra space and we hardly have space to open up 3 luggages. Otherwise, we love all other aspects of this hotel.

Stayed here for a night and this is the hotel I’d highly recommend as a base if you’re making day trips out to other regions from Kyoto. Pros: - Great Location (5 minutes walk from Kyoto Station, Donki/Clothing stores are located at the Front, Convenience Store next door, Food can be found within Walking Distance at different price points) - Well thought out room (Luggage Rack is provided for (without calling Housekeeping for it), dedicated air conditioning+heater, in room phone charging USB (Micro Usb, Type C and Lightning and plug)) - Hospitable Front Desk that is fluent in English. - Complementary Amenities such as Cleansing Oil, Toners, Face Mask, Body Lotion, Teas available at the Lobby - Free Coffee from Teatime to Midnight at Lobby. Cons: - You may get lost while figuring your way to the Hotel from Kyoto Station as the Station has multiple exits. Tip is to get to the Bus Station near Avanti.

The Hyatt Regency Kyoto has been the best hotel I have stayed at in Japan. The atmosphere and the design of the building was amazing. The wait staff was always super helpful. The linens and supplied robes were in perfect condition.. The free bottled water was a welcome and needed perk. The hotel was convenient to Kyoto Station and the Keihan train station, and the river which made for a convenient running route... The room was super big and comfortable. The climate control system actually worked. The in room safe was amazing. It had a piston to hold it open, and a power point to plug in rechargeable devices. It was super easy to use. The traditional food a the Touzan restaurant was great. There was even a wedding going on after we checked in.

Room is spacious with ample natural light. The twin beds are quite large, although a bit firm. Bathroom is larger than other hotels I've stayed at in Japan, particularly love the bathtub & rainfall shower. At check in, they have amenities baskets for ladies and children, from which you can take whatever you like, which I thought was special. The staff may seem standoff-ish, but when they know you really need help, they are very helpful. They helped me book an airport limousine bus departing from my next hotel in Tokyo. Location is a 5-10 minute walk from Kyoto Station and just a stone's throw away from Kyoto Tower. The hotel also connects directly to Kyoto Station through the Porta on B1 level, which is convenient when it's raining. However, connecting to the Porta is through a series of steps (no elevator/escalator/ramp), so keep that in mind if you're travelling with a pram/stroller/wheelchair/large suitcase.

I personally did not rent from there but from what I can observed, it is a convenient place to start for your kimono experience. They charged around 3900 yen when I was there. There is a small Lawson right across the street from the hotel, in case you came back late from your excursion and in need of refreshment. The shops at Kyoto Station generally close at 10PM. My husband and I stayed at the Kyoto Century Hotel for 5 nights as tourists. We opted for one of the less expensive rooms on one of the upper floors. It still was fairly expensive, but fairly priced considering the excellent location of the hotel right next to the Kyoto Station. Our room was small by American standards, but it held 2 very comfortable double beds. The bathroom was super clean and adequate in size. The only thing lacking were decent sized closets and drawers for our clothes. Those 2 items would not matter for someone staying only one night. But since we were staying 5 nights, we would have appreciated a little more storage space. The employees of the hotel were wonderful. Our only really complaint was that all their restaurants served only Asian food for dinner and lunch. There were nights we felt like staying in and eating at the hotel, but we were turned off by the thought of paying in excess of $50 a person for meals we were quite sure we weren't going to like. Fortunately the breakfast, which we had opted to pay for when booking our room, had plenty of choices that even people who are not real fans of Japanese food could enjoy. The choices were really amazing covering everything from the makings for green salads, to yogurt with delicious sauces to Japanese versions of what was supposed to be French toast to ice cream. There were also many reasonably priced restaurants in Kyoto Station.

The location, located inside the Kyoto station building was a great asset. The Station building itself is a tourist destination. And then travelling using JR pass became so convenient. The staff was also very helpful in both checking in and subsequently. The Concierge was of great help in planning out my activities, helping out with maps and exact locations and tourist attractions. Would recommend to stay here and would prefer to stay here once again if I come back.

The hotel is relatively easy to find as its nearby to the main Kyoto Station, though when we initially set foot having traveled from Shin-Osaka, it was a challenge looking for the main exit towards the bus station located next to the Kyoto Station. But once you can find this bus station, its a relatively easy find of 5 min walk to the hotel. The hotel seems rather new as the furnishing looks well maintained. The double room that we booked was 'big' by our standard as we know that hotels in Japan are very small. There is a Lawson mart located just 'next' the hotel so one can just access directly to the convenience store without leaving the hotel! The best part about this hotel is the provision of a hot spring located on the 9th floor and its free for hotel guests! And after a nice soak in the hot spring, you can head down for free ramen which is served from 9-11pm. The ramen does not have your typical char siew and meat but otherwise, no complaints on the food!

very easy to find the hotel right across from kyoto station. the staffs are very grecious, friendly and very helpful with tips about sightseeing and restaurant recommendation. the room was small but sufficient. we had only 2 carry on bags, so the room wasn't too tight. if travel with big suitcase, might be too tight. we were impressed that the hotel was very reasonable price with such a prime location. the room was cleaned and very quiet. there is a coffee shop downstair that offer reasonable price breakfast. many great restaurants, shops, groceries around the hotel. one of the restaurant we loved is the katsukura on 11 floor of the kyoto station building. if you like tonkatsu, it is a must try.

we loved staying at the kyoto brighton hotel. the room we stayed in was a double room and it was very spacious. the bathroom is very big, we enjoyed taking showers there. the rooms are clean and comfortable. the neighborhood is quite which was nice. the concierge was very helpful, they helped us book our restaurants, printed out maps and ordered our meals in advance so we didn't have to struggle reading japanese menus. there is nothing to complain about except that our room had remains of cigarette smell. we stayed at 4 hotels in kyoto. hyatt regency, hoshinoya and hotel granvia kyoto. kyoto brighton is the best value for money!

Overall, it was an enjoyable stay at the Hotel Anteroom Kyoto. As I spent most of my time out sightseeing, my time in the hotel was mainly for rest/sleep. It provided that well with a clean, spacious (relative to Japanese hotels and at this great value) and quiet room to do that. Housekeeping was done efficiently while the reception staff (and all staff in general) were polite and spoke good English. Fumiko-san in particular was very helpful and approachable. While the hotel's location requires at least a 10 minute walk from Kyoto Station, it is a straightforward walk (safe and quiet too) and along the way you will find some convenience stores and dining options. There is a subway station closer to the hotel if required but since I had the JR pass, I just used Kyoto station and walked. Hotel Anteroom Kyoto also provided a in-room info-brochure/magazine that pointed out two or three dining options closer to the hotel - unfortunately I didn't read it until before I checked out so never did try them. The hotel has a breakfast buffet at 1,000 yen which I didn't try either but it looked good value with a main course, smoothie, dessert and other options. The only bad point I would mention is that my room's toilet did smell a little strange but in the end I believe it was either the lavender shampoo or coconut (or something) body wash they provided (they did smell great when used though). Nevermind though as you just needed to turn on the air cycling ventilation thingie and that'd fix it. Oh yes, you do need to step up to the toilet so just be careful when you come out. Free self-laundry machines which is a major plus. They also have a nice lounge area on the first floor which I saw quite a number of people use which was nice.

The rooms were immaculately clean and very well designed. The beds were comfortable and the room always smelt and felt forest-fresh due to the de-ionise/ air cleaner that was in the room. It was an easy 7 minute, flat walk from the Kyoto station (exit on the west side, and walk left until you reach the second set of traffic lights and turn right). If you are too close to the station, you can hear the announcements at night - so this place was in a very quiet, clean and safe area. Kyoto station is central to all the major attractions, and after a hard days walking it was great to not have to have to transfer to different stations just to get back home. The staff were friendly and they spoke good english. When I return to this region, I will stay here again without any hesitation. This hotel was the best value for money I have found during all my travels. 10/10 for comfort, style, cleanliness and location. The management team at Almont should feel proud of their effort and attention to detail.

Overall, the hotel is good, e.g. new, modern, clean, good facilities, and free soup and drinks, etc. The only setback is the breakfast is not as good as those provided by chain boutique hotels, both variety and quality can be improved. Although it's far from kyoto station, the hotel is quite close to other two different railways line's stations, so to me it's nothing to complain about it.

Although we need to walk 15 mins from the kyoto station, the shuttle bus service is convenient and the drivers were helpful when we were carrying luggage. The environment is very comfortable, away from the hustle in the city. There aren't many restaurants near. But you can still find convenient stores near the hotel. People can take the free shuttle bus in JR station. In the hotel room, the room was bigger than we expected, with a 160cm bed and a nice view. The room is clean and tidy, and the hotel offered a branded shampoo and everything for us. If you want to have a relaxing holiday, away from the city noise, I think this hotel is the best choice. I will definitely come and stay in this hotel again! :)

I send a message to a hotel before arrival request to drop our luggage early, a reply was fast. Cheer up to the hotel support team. We drop our luggage early and get around Kyoto by bus, a bus stop is nearby, from kyoto station you can take bus 203 at bus stop A3 in front of Kyoto station the bus runs directly to a stop nearby in 30 mins. Room was very clean, not that big but not that small to live in as it in Japan, we can understand in this point. In summary, cheap room, clean, staff was helpful. My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The hotel is approximately 8-10 minutes walk from Nijo station which is 5 minutes from Kyoto station. The hotel is on a main road and build newly in 2015. The STAFF at the front desk were amazing. We reached the hotel in the morning with our big luggage and they were kind enough to offer us to keep the luggage while we went sightseeing. You can also buy the city bus pass from the reception. The room size was relatively small to the USA, but I think that's what's it's like in Japan. Used the spa, which was amazing. Bus stops are a quick walk away, we were able to go to all our destinations by bus or train without much walking or waiting. The staff was very friendly and proficient in English language. They even kept our luggage after we checked out, until we came back for them in the evening. Over all would stay there again. Kudos to the team.

Very conveniently located opposite Kyoto Station building (can even see the Shinkansen from room window). Lobby is upstairs. Good and courteous staff and they gave us souvenir for our honeymoon stay. Room clean and quite spacious comparatively to our other rooms in Japan. Cosy and comfortable. Breakfast lack of choice and overcrowded, we had to que to get into breakfast area, food finish quite fast and quite slow to refill. Cramped dining area and felt like canteen. Waiting for elevator can take very long due to only 2 elevator operating. Good stay, would return again.

Close to Shijo-Omiya Station, around a 1-minute walk, if you are going to Arashiyama (no transfers required). Close to Omiya Station, around a 2-minute walk, if you are going to Gion (only two stops away, no transfers required). Far from Kyoto Station but only a bus ride away (we rode bus route 206). Bus stop to Kyoto Station is a 2-minute walk on the right side of Omiya Dori. Self-service laundry available but you have to pay and buy detergent from them. Confusing policy (because of the language barrier) about the No Cleaning Service but otherwise no complaints with hotel cleanliness/service. 7/10 - possibly would stay again due accessibility of location.

I had initially booked another hotel but only managed to get one day. The 2-5 day were spent at CMM. My advice is to take the Kansai airport bus (not the subway) to kyoto if your destination is Kyoto as last stop is situated about 200m from CMM. Once you alight from the bus, make a left turn and walk about 150m or so then make a right. Another about 100m you will see CMM on the left. It’s a pretty small hotel but you can see it. There’s a family mart about 20m away. I had gone to the mall opposite the hotel (20m away) for breakfast. Lots of Japanese food and a McDonalds. Kyoto station is about 300m (opposite the anovementioned mall. There’s also plenty of food there. The friendly staff speak English and Mandarin so no worries. They are super patient and will give you lots of suggestions on shopping and food. Like all Japan hotel, it’s pretty small but things are well organized. There’s a washing machine, stove and oven so you can do your own cooking. Overall, yes I’ll return

My brother-in-Iaw recommended this to us. I got this as a last minute deal and we were not disapponted! We got the room with 3 beds and an extra bed since we were 4. The room was big (37sqm) and beds could still fit 2 persons. Having 1 bed each was a joy! The location was so convenient, just across the Kyoto Station, which you can reach by crossng the road or passing through the underground walkways. Below the hotel was a souvenir shop where you can buy food and Japanese crafts and souvenirs without having to go far. Prices are comparable or even cheaper than stores in other tourist spots. Above the hotel is Kyoto Tower with a very good view of Kyoto 360°! If you stay in the hotel, fee is 50% off for adults and free for elementary school kids and below. Reception and checkout were a breeze! The staff were very friendly and helpful. You can even leave your luggage if you arrive too early for check-in or if you are to go someplace still after check-out. At the back of the hotel is Yodobashi Camera store building where you can find lots of stuff...electronics, appliances, beauty stuff, clothes (has Uniqlo store), etc and restaurants on the 6th flr and grocery at B2 level. There is also a Delifrance just by the entrance. A McDonalds and a Starbucks too at the side of the Kyoto Tower building. Other options would be at Kyoto Station itself or the underground Porta for eats and more shopping. And you can explore all the underground passsageways. Another favorite for us to visit is Avanti mall which is on the other side of Kyoto Stayion but easily accessible through the underground passageways. Will come back to Kyoto Tower Hotel for sure!

We stayed at the Sakura Terrace Hotel in Kyoto during the busy last week of November 2013. We paid US$160 per night, without breakfast, but it should be about half that during off-peak periods. The hotel opened in October 2013. It is conveniently located one subway stop south of Kyoto station, with the Kujo station exit right in front of the hotel entrance. Alternatively, it is a six minute walk from the east exit of Kyoto station. The room is 18 sq metres, and has a decently sized attached bathroom/toilet. Comfortable bed and strong flow of hot water in the bathroom. Free wifi, fridge and hot water boiler in the room. Our room was just next to the lift, but there was no noise. Split unit aircon for cooling or heating, but, unfortunately, very limited English language TV. Free washing machine and dryer located on the 4th Floor. Bar and breakfast room on the ground floor. Pleasant English speaking staff at reception. Only smoking room was available at time of booking, but the reception staff managed to switch it to a non-smoking room. Overall, I would rate the hotel as a 4-star, even though it does not have any restaurant or room service within the hotel. (Visitors have lots of food options at the restaurants nearby the hotel or at Kyoto station.) We will definitely stay there again when we are next in Kyoto.

The most important thing I want to say is: Do not confuse this property with other property with the similar name “Grand Japaning Hotel Omiya”. This property is the “Central” one. I first arrive in GJH Omiya, and was confused because I couldn’t find my room. Fortunately, in the unmanned reception desk, there was a map showing both properties, and after checking my email, I realized I entered the wrong building. Check-in is a bit complicated at first, be sure to follow the instructions correctly (check your email), or just come to the office in Kyoto Station for check-in and guidance. Room cleaning is only for those who stays more than 3 days. You should ask the office to change towel the day before. But if you forget like me, there is a free laundry room. (Bring your own soap, just in case the provided detergent is empty, and bring dictionary because the machine is all in Jap.) With such a reasonable price. I am satisfied with the facility, and the cleanliness. The building is also new. Defitely will stay there again (or other branches). However, I suggest avoid it if you hate the trouble of doing everything by yourself.

The hotel location is superb. Only 5 minutes walk from Kyoto Station. There is Supermarket in front and beside hotel. You can buy your ready to eat meals there. The room is small but equip with everything include pajamas. They have amenity bar in the lobby you can get all amenities include additional pilow. The single bed is big enough. Room will be suitable for 2 adult or 2 adult and 1 child. Sure will stay here again. Recommended if you visit Kyoto to buy one day pass for city bus. It will be easier to go sightseeing with the bus. Use bus no.100 or other bus. 1 day pass cost ¥600. You can buy at city bus office in Kyoto Station. Near bus terminal.
