We stayed at the Prestige Hotel for 4 nights as our mini honeymoon before Christmas and I can only say what an amazing hotel it is with outstanding service. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Service – before even getting to Budapest I’d emailed the Prestige concierge a number of times to ask about and book some activities (theatre, riverboat dinner cruise and spa tickets). Every time I emailed them, they were quick to respond and always happy to help, nothing was too much trouble. Then throughout our time with them, whenever we needed anything, the reception staff were on hand to sort it – amazing service all round. Location – the hotel is perfectly located just 2 mins walk from the Széchenyi Chain Bridge, on the Pest side, to allow for easy access to the various sights of Budapest, on both sides of the Danube. It is also only 5 mins walk away from St. Stephens Basilica in the heart of the restaurant and bar area. Thank you Prestige Hotel for making our stay so special.

The stay was pleasant despite the fact that the staff at the rooftop bar was relatively unfriendly and had no service-mind. The room was small but very practical and the bed was comfortable. We had a wonderful breakfast, lots of choices from tasty warm and cold selections, the staffs at the breakfast room were very thoughtful, attentive and friendly. There is a wellness club and swimming pool at the Basement of the hotel, but with our booking, we were't entitled to use them, or unless we pay around EUR 15,- per person per day, which we found it, ridiculous for the guest to pay such amount to enter to the swimming pool at the hotel. The receptionists were helpful, though some speak little English, they tried much and put lots of efforts for us, so that we had an enjoyable stay in Budapest, thanks to the young receptionist girl, who were very friendly and attentive. About the location, we love it, the hotel located at the prime-business location of Budapest, very safe area to walk at night and all day long, only less than 2 minutes to US Embassy and a few minutes walk to the Metro Station and less than 10 minutes to Parliament House. Overall we are fairly happy with our stay at The President Hotel. Personally, we rate this hotel 3.5 stars.

This brand new 5-star hotel say they are aiming even higher than 5 stars..They success! The interior gives a unique atmosphere that is connected to the famous restaurant and bar. The breakfast, roomservice and not at least the dinner in the restaurant is simply delicious. Servispeople are on spot to help out at all times. We did not try out the spa(The prices for the treatments are quite high compeared to what you can get elsewhere in Budapest). We were lucky and got to spend 3 nights at this fantastic hotel included breakfast for only about 440 Euro in total for 2 persons! A lot for the money! (Compared for what we get home in Norway..). 23. October is the National Day of Hungary, and people gathered right outside the hotel for speaches and television, marking the day. The hotel lefs a letter in our room the day before, informing about this. The crowds were calm, and we experience the Hungarian people as very friendly and calm. A moment to remember was when they played the National Anthem, and we where inside the hotel that afternoon, hearing the people sing. Beautiful! The only negative is that the have a constructionary proble that the water from the shower is floating out on the bathroomfloor. This is under work.

mercure city center hotel is ideally located in very center of budapest, in famous vatci utca (main pedestrian street) where lot of h palaces, places of interest, restaurants and shops can be found. well known bridges connecting banks of danube river are in close proximity as well. it’s walking distance to all attractions and museums. hotel is very well managed, great service, rooms are very spacious, clean with refrigerator, safe, good aircon system, modern bathroom, but bed could be more comfortable (too soft mattress is not what i prefer). hotel provides free wireless and can arrange taxi to pick you up/take you to the airport - one way 23 euros). next to hotel is excellent italian restaurant which i would warmly recommend (avoid those restaurants with "traditional cuisine" on huge square situated right from hotel and next to new shopping mall, its lousy food there, not worth the money!) budapest is definitely one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but 2 -3 days will be quite enough to see the most important city can offer. i would definitely stay again in hotel mercure city center if i go again to capital of hungary ! please note, if you want to stay in very center, make sure you booked “mercure city center hotel” since there are several “mercure” hotels in the town.

Although we were informed there was complimentary coffee/tea, this was not re-filled for 3 days.I asked reception and returning 5 hours later it was still not re-filled. Used cups were not cleaned in two out of our 3 rooms. Instead of leaving a shampoo, etc,4 body lotions were left and no shampoo/conditioner in two out of the 3 rooms we booked. There was a gentleman during check in who didnt even greet me. When I returned one of the keys, as 2 of our party were arriving later, he was rude in my estimation, not saying a word. When these 2 people arrived the same gentleman just put the key on the desk, didnt tell them were the lift was and no welcome greeting either. Is this 5 star treatment, I dont think so.

Stayed for 3 nights in the end of may 2012. It was a good experience, felt like a standard 4 star hotel. rooms where a bit on the small side, but then again they always are in Europe. Location was the absolutLy best thing with the hotel. Near the city center, near gellert hill, near everything! Breakfast was good. Nothing extreme as I read here. The downsides of the hotel is that you pay some weird city tax when you check in. It wasn't much but I don't understand why they don't add that in from the beginning! When we where leaving the hotel also wanted to book a taxi for us that where 1800 ft more expensive then the normal rate. Again not a lot money but I just don't understand why! Does the hotel really need to make taxi commission money to make a profit? All in all it was a good stay.

Everything was excellent. Especially the riverside view with the Palace on the mountain from the room was wonderful through the largest window at night. The hotel itself was also luxury and clean, with bigger size room which was very comfortable, located at the best site in the city. Staff services were also very courteous and restaurant served very good food. The only problem was one of the bed making staff who had a doubt behavior while we were at the breakfast. My wife's sudden return from the restaurant discovered the event, and had nothing be stolon. Hotel Manager responded quickly faithfully and no more problems happened.

When I was about to check in I was told there was an error in my reservation - the days was offset by one day and they had expected my arrival the day before! However, without any argument the receptionist kindly offered to correct the booking free of charge, even though the fault was not at the hotel. I was amazed they didn't use the situation to cash in a few extra $$ but I guess it shows their dedication in making the stay as pleasant and free of troubles for the traveler as possible. A big star in their book for that! As for the rest of the stay, it was worth every cent. The location is about perfect for Budapest, close to the river, the main shopping street, and right next to the metro and trams. The rooms was very well cleaned and even though small (they warn about this on their page) the space is well used so they don't feel that small. And the breakfast was very well for being free of charge. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended! (Business travelers beware, there is a computer at the lobby and a free wi-fi hotspot, but the wi-fi does not work from the rooms.)

Don't be fooled by the reasonable price. The Museum Central is conveniently located (close to the airport bus stop and other public transport) and slap bang in the middle of the city making each tourist trip easy and convenient. The building is a charming historic period with great architecture. Don't bother booking here if you are of the posing type as you need to enter the hotel using a single lift and the reception is on the second floor.. I had a great stay here and rate this hotel as a Budapest hidden boutique gem.

Our stay (2 couples, one night, 2 bedrooms) was excellent - The rooms are huge, with high ceilings and a Jacuzzi. There was fast internet connection. The location of the hotel is perfect- right in the city centre, near all the underground and TRAM stations, and near tons of the attractions Budapest has to offer. The friendly staff in the hotel lobby had great English and helped us a lot in finding hang out places for the night and day. The breakfast cost additional 3 euros and was served in the cute coffee house at the ground floor of the building. There is an elevator to the hotel.

Greetings from Pakistan!! I was traveling with my wife and a three and a half year old son. I initially booked the hotel for two nights and later on extended it for another two days. The extension of my stay was done without any hassle. The hotel is beautiful and the room had everything that we needed. The staff was super super friendly and they were so kind to us and especially to my kid offering candies and spoiling him all the time. The breakfast was enough for us, that we didn't need to have lunch. The lift was slightly old, but it works perfectly alright. The washroom was modern, and the rooms were very clean. The best part of this hotel was its location. It is very very central, and you can see many places within your walking distance. Also, you can find a super market very close to the hotel, and a delicious "Istanbul Doner Kebab" is also available within your walking distance. I would not mind staying there once again, if I travel Budapest once again.

Booked a twin room under children under 12 stay free for 2 adults and 2 children. Pleasant surprise: big room and 2 extra beds at no charge. Clean room and bathroom, very nice breakfast. Note: while there, buffet breakfast was served in two adjacent spaces. Same choice, however one of them had the so called called "hungarian corner" with some extra yummy stuff. Location is great: we had a great view onto Kalvin ter, the church and the museums garden, all at once - had a corner room. Easy walk through to the Vasarcsarnok (old central markets), Gellert baths and all the way up to Lanchid. Great public transport connection: 2 metro lines, trams 47 and 49 at the door, ram 2 at 5 minutes walk.

The hotel is very close to a number of restaurants, bars, local transport and just 5-10 minutes walk from the Danube. It was very clean and quiet at nightime. The hotel check in was very good and quick, however they should remind guest that there is s local tax to pay on arrival rather than at check out. The breakfast is excellent with a wide choice of food and drinks. The staff are polite and helpful. One promlem there were 3 people in our group but we booked 2 double rooms to make sure we were close together, however there was a huge difference in room size and facilities which is not really acceptable when paying the same rate.

Starlight was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, largely due to the fantastic staff and their service. The rooms are large, bath very nice with huge tub. Breakfast was fantastic, hot and cold options. Istvan, (Stephan) the manager did everything he could to make our stay easier...booking tickets, making calls for us, even baking us fresh croissants while we were waiting for our night train! He could/should be working at the Four Seasons! Thank you all...you make this a very special place! Georgia

Before I review this good hotel, I want to warn who reads this against a restaurant where we were ripped off. The restaurant's name is Buborék Bisztro and its address is Dorottya utca 8 (this is very near to that known square called Vörösmarty Tér). If you ever eat there, beware of prices of wine because they charged us 3500HUF = 16US$ for just a glass of wine (it was our fault not to ask beforehand how much this would cost -we just assumed that it would cost what a glass of wine normally costs all over Western Europe-, so they took advantage of our "innocence" to ripp us off). Now, with reference to the City Hotel Pilvax, we were very satisfied with the location (it's in the heart of Pest, very close to Ferenciek Tere metro station which line is perfect to get to the airport), with the staff (very nice people), with the room and with the breakfast. The room was not so big but its size was enough for the two of us (picture attached). It was very clean, it had 2 comfortable beds, good heating, a not so big but very clean bathroom (picture attached), a convenient wardrobe, a couple of chairs, a desk, a normal TV set (not flat screen) and a small refrigerator. The sleeping quality was also good. We didn't hear any noise at all from other rooms and neither from the pedestrian street where the hotel is located even when our room was on the first floor (there is no elevator). In regards to the breakfast, we loved the breakfast room (see attached picture) and also the breakfast which offered much more than a usual continental breakfast. There was scrambled egg, small hot sausages, 4 types of bread, pieces of tomates and other vegetable, 2 types of cheese, several types of cold meat and cold sausages, butter, 2 types of jam, yogurts, bananas, apples, oranges, cereals, cold milk, hot milk, tea, coffe and fruit juices. Finally, let me mention as well that in the hotel lobby they have a computer for guests (and there is also wifi).

The Hotel Astoria is a historic property in a prime location. The building, particularly the interiors, exudes elegance and good taste. We were traveling as a group, and we were particularly impressed by the triple room that was actually a full suite with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. All staff members were professional and polite to the extreme. Most of all, we enjoyed the breakfast buffet in a very classy dining room from a by-gone era. This hotel by itself is reason enough to wish to return to Budapest as soon as possible!

I should start by saying the staff is extremely helpful and accomidating. When I arrive they were over booked and had made arrangements for me to stay elsewhere. (I was put in Marmara after the first hotel I was to stay at was overbooked.) The hotel was very clean and the bed was comfortable. However, I was a bit shocked to find out that a hotel billing itself as a four star hotel did not have somethings a basic as Wifi or the complementary water and tea/coffee in the guests rooms. There is internet access via eithernet cable or tv that you can pay to use in the rooms. That said, they could not get the internet to work in my room. It was winter and the heater was on max - so no worries about being cold here. I spent the night with the window open trying to keep from sweating in the room. The hotel is quiet but dark in the hallways and rooms. The hotel is located near one of the main streets and a metro stop making it easy to get about the city. Despite all the frustrations associated with my staff, the staff honestly did their best to solve any problem that arose and I do appreciate that helpfulness.

The staff here were very professional. At all times they were courteous, attentive and extremely helpful, always available to provide information, phone for taxis and to make guests feel welcome. We had breakfast included in our booking. So glad we did. The food was delicious, sufficient and beautifully served. We also had dinner here; again delicious, beautifully served and sufficient. Largely because of the excellent staff, we would choose to stay at The Gerloczy again on our next visit to Budapest.

Hotel was within walking distance to the many sights and metro and tram lines stops. It was my sisters 40th celebration - I organised a surprise cake pity we could not bring it into the lounge area or the nobu restaurant. I arranged for this to be delivered at 8 to our room but was surprised it was sitting in our room when we checked in but this was rectified immediately without my sister notice. We were also given a bottle of champagne for their mistake. Staff were very courteous and would go out of their way to help. The spa treatment was nice but the reception staff were not very friendly. My sister had her watch taken by mistake, she was very upset when she reported this to the spa staff. They laughed and was insensitive. After a few words they called the resident manager. He came down within 2 mins and started the investigation. I was very grateful for the help and my sister fortunately got her watch back the following day. I would also like to mention the concierge staff they were very helpful and would find the answer of any question asked. I also point out prices are high but does match the 5 star service. I would recommend this hotel for romantic and girly weekends.

I book the hotel for my two bosses who had a business trip on budapest The first booked is for 2 nights and two rooms But they had to extend the meeting so i booked another 1 night and two rooms I already send a message to hotel with explanation 'this is extended guess from booking code xxxxxx' I double check with agoda team and agoda team its enough to make them (hotel) know But when my boss check out,the hotel ask them to pay for the last night because hotel said you only paid for two night and they debit my boss credit card.they insist we dont pay enough nights I call agoda cs and they call the hotel directly after tht the hotel credited the payment that they debit through my boss credit card (because we paid it full before they arrived) Thank you so much agoda cs team.and for budapest team,you should learn more about all the information detail of your guess..it makes you look unprofessional as a 5 star hotel.

We had 2 nights here and although we booked a studio, we were upgraded to a 1 brm suite. It certainly had ample space. Furnishings were lovely and the kitchen was fully equipped and everything was in good working order. The location couldn't have been better - just steps away from shops, bars and good selection of restaurants. We were taking a river cruise next and it was an easy walk with our cases to the pier for embarkation. Checkin was a bit slow (1am) and we were given a room on the 5th floor but when we got out of the lift, no such number existed. However, this was quickly sorted out and no real drama. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

This was one of the best hotels I've ever visited. I'd chosen it for its high rates in online travel services and I wasn't disappointed. The rooms were cosy, nicely decorated with a modern feeling, and quite roomy. Room service was also very good. One of the greatest aspects of this hotel, other than its services and friendly stuff, is its location; it sits two blocks from the Danube river, and just one block from the start of the venerable Vaci street. It's also very well connected, with bus and metro stations right across the street, and a tram station one block away. My only strife was with the hotel's WiFi; the signal in my room was too low and the network kept disconnecting. The hotel stuff provided me with a UTP cable, but it turned out that either the cable was bad or the RJ45 plug was dead. On the other hand, the signal was quite good in the hotel lobby and restaurant/cafeteria. Another minor shortcoming was that the room windows had no shutters but just light curtains and rooms from the two wings of the hotel were facing each other.

This hotel is a must for travellers, especially those whose first language is English. The reception staff are exceptional and a special thanks to Sara, Balint and Zoltan (Zo Zo) for making our trip to Budapest memorable. In terms of value for money, this hotel offers good rates at 4 star level, particularly if you book early. Rooms are spacious and clean and all amenities are well catered for including laundry. The restaurant serves a very hearty breakfast and this Canberra included in the room rate if you book early. We would make this a definite place to stay again.

First, the staff at the hotel are incredible. Quick to arrange anything you want. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the location is absolutely perfect, right opposite the Chain Bridge. Its the kind of hotel you look forward to coming back to. Room and bathroom are also very nice. Beakfast was good but the hot food, eggs, pancakes, etc. were a little below par. Charcuterie is excellent. And the bar makes wonderful cocktails.
