"Traveled with two friends; we each had our own room. Good location, maybe 10-12mins walk from the main Sannomiya Station, tucked away down a lazy street. Took us a while to find it, but only because it was raining and we had suitcases. Rooms were clean and neat. Standard business size rooms; bathroom was functional. Great water pressure; constant. Rooms serviced daily. Short stroll to lots of visiting spots - Kobe port, Chinatown, museums, main shopping streets.. Very helpful staff; we arrived way before check in time yet they stored our suitcases so we can start exploring the city. We walked everywhere while there, as it was so convenient a spot. There are two convenient stores a stone throw’s away, the Lamp Museum two minutes walk away, some lovely cafes/eateries a short walk from the hotel. Overall, wonderful stay. Would definitely recommend, and I’ll book in again when I’m back in Kobe! "

"We stayed at Japanese-Room for 4 persons at 3rd floor, at which Japanese-style bathing areas were also located. Room was small yet comfy enough. However, Japanese-style rooms in this hotel had no toilet nor shower/bathtub, hence, we had to use toilets/bathing facilities on the floor. Japanese-style bathing experience in the "Daiyokujyou" (Large Bathing Area) was amazing. Hot water indeed recharged our energy after being tired walking here and there the whole day. But if you are shy & tend to avoid other guests (as we did), come to the bathing area in 6 am or dining time (6-8 pm). Japanese-style breakfasts here were outstandingly delicious with great view of Kobe Port & Pacific Ocean. At each floor, there were also coin-laundries & vending machines. "

"We would highly recommend a stay at Hotel Okura. Even though the hotel is not in the centre of town, their free shuttle bus service is great, the access directions on their website for how and where to catch the bus are easy to follow and the shuttle service runs frequently. In saying this , China town is only a 10 min walk away, so the hotel is not that ar removed. Our room and bathroom were large, comfortable and had everything we needed. We had a corner room that overlooked the port of Kobe and the park. The view was beautiful. The staff are friendly, helpful and very efficient. There is a large supermarket in the basement of the building where you catch the shuttle bus, so we were able to stock up on supplies, as we did not opt for a breakfast in our hotel stay. I would most definitely stay there again. "

"When I stayed, it appeared that I was either the only guest or 2-3 other guests where there but slept in different rooms from me. The hostel is a block from the Minatomotomachi, you can take the train from Shin-Kobe using the Seishin-Yamate line (it is underground). Very easy to travel there if you take the Shinkansen because you don't leave the station. The hostel is very quiet, clean, has an elevator, the owner is outstanding - provided tons of recommendations, knows a lot about the area and places to see, I'm very thankful for his help. The property is near the Kobe Harbor and lots of shopping and authentic Kobe beef restaurants. Kobe is a quieter option to Tokyo and Osaka but there is a lot to see and do here and the property is unique located to experience a lot during your visit. I highly recommend it."

"Many thanks to Ms Emi at the Front Desk. She is sincere and friendly. Shin went the extra mile to help us make a reservation at Ishida Restaurant. To get to the Hotel, we used the Exit B2 on the Kaigan Line. Just turn left after exiting. On the right is Uniqlo. Chinatown, Merikan Park, Kobe Tower, Tokyu Hands, MacDonald (open 24-hour), etc are just within walking distance. There is also a loop bus service (fare from JPY 260 onwards) just outside Daimaru Store. We didn't take the bus as we enjoyed the walk. Lots of eateries and shopping. We had dinner at Ishida Steak restaurant. Reservation is required. It was fully booked on our first night and we had to reserve our seats for the next evening. There are a few branches, we almost went to the wrong branch. We love the hotel's public bath and coin laundry service on the 14th floor. We will definitely be back to stay at Candeo again when we visit Kobe."
