"Clean place, breakfast is ok, no free parking lots and to park overnight for public place is so expensive. Onsen is free and private. There is washing machine, hotel is clean and new condition. There are 7-11 and Lawson close by. The place is close to Kyoto tower and Isetan and Kyoto station. Totally is ok for spending money here."

"I enjoyed my stay very much and would definitely stay again. The room (with a double bed) was rather small and at first I was 'put off' by the 'junkiness' of the room: there seemed to be 'stuff' everywhere and the dark veneer of the furniture is a bit depressing but in fact everything was very clean and absolutely fine. However, by North American and European standards this is only a three-star hotel, definitely not a four-star, as the hotel apparently advertises itself. The best thing about it is the truly fantastic Japanese breakfast (one of two of the best I had in two weeks in Japan and much, much better than and half the price of the breakfast served in the larger, posh hotel I stayed in in Tokyo), served in the very nice, well-maintained and bright 'breakfast room'. The hotel does not have a restaurant but it does serve free, delicious noodles to all guests between 9 and 11 each evening--really fun and sufficient for a light supper. The location near the JR station was perfect for me as well. And the low price is extremely good too. "

"The best location right next to Kyoto station. Food at the hotel was a bit expensive but there are plenty of restaurants at Kyoto station. The room was large and furnished very well- much better than most Japanese hotels. The room was very clean and the bathroom layout was a good design and not cramped like most Japanese bathrooms. The housekeeper, which was an older man, was a bit grumpy, he did a good job cleaning the room. The rest of the hotel staff was very polite and helpful. I stayed there for 5 nights and will stay there the next time I am in Kyoto. I stay a couple months each year on business in different parts of Japan, and this would be one of the best hotels yet. I do not think there was a gym, which there maybe and I did not see any listing or information. "

"A short walk from the Kyoto train station, you will find a big convenient store and behind it is Almont Hotel. Relatively new, the hotel serves up a delicious breakfast Japanese breakfast spread and boasts a cosy public onsen(public bath). The staff are helpful and friendly. The room is substantial in size and big on comfort. If you are not sure what to do around Kyoto, there is a little library for you to browse and plan your days out or simply borrow the books and head up to your spacious room to start your research. The public onsen isn't huge, but it opens till 2am on certain days. If you are not sure what to do, read the instructions in your room. It isn't too crowded in either the female or male onsen so that helps if it is your first time getting into one. The female onsen password changes daily so female guests are protected and can be assured of their safety. The hotel room toilet is fairly spacious and well equipped for a refreshing shower after a whole day of exploration. A revisit is definitely a yes."

"We loved every thing about this quaint Japanese-style hotel! Very convenient location just minutes away from Kyoto station, room was spacious (for Japan standards), clean and comfortable. The staff were also very professional and friendly, with a good command of English. We also loved the many amenities - there is a business lounge in the basement with free coffee/tea, even a laptop and printer for use. Overall fantastic hotel to serve as a base for exploring Kyoto."
