The checkin was terrible. Assigned a wrong room category. Initially told all rooms of my category was full on the day and I could be accommodated in the right room only the following day. Reception staff had little or no clue about it. I was however accomodated in the right room category in a while after sending an email. Terrible experience at check-in though. Facilities are quite poor too. No fridge or kettle in the room! You've got to pay extra for it. Quite basic to have those provided these days. The hair dryer was quite dated too. Room was spacious & clean. Location is average. Didn't opt for the breakfast so can't review. Overall not recommended. Better places could be found for the price.

we stay 3 days at the hotel and they didn't change the towels or the beds. the breakfast was poor, the staff were rude when we said that the eggs were spoiled and they did't know to give us any info about the transportation from the hotel or the thermall baths etc it is not like the other IBIS hotel

Great Position”

The Ibis Hotel is a friendly structure, very minimal in its approach reminding the typical hotel design of northen Europe. The rooms are spatious, tidy and brightly illuminated although they are equiped with minimal furniture. As a downside we noticed the lack of minibar (at least in our room, on the 5th floor). The bed was very comfortable and both the bed and bath linen were clean. Hotel staff is distinct, helpful and professional. We had a smooth experience with the reception desk. As to breakfast, this is really poor as for the variety of foods provided while the machine-made cappuccino is far too sweet in our opinion, hence we didn't enjoyed much. On the contrary the restaurant (the same room serves as breakfast room in the morning and resto for the rest of the day) is very good. The menu doesn't provide a wide selection of dishes but whatever you choose to eat is really good, tasty and comes in an abundant portion as well. Prices are very reasonable and fair. We chose this structure because of the location which is pretty advantageous: right behind the Budapest Zoo (5 min. on foot) and the the excellent Budapest Park, where you find two lovely small ponds and some really nice restaurants. More importantly, when you cross the park (on your left side) you reach the famous and most popular Thermal Baths in Budapest, Szechenyi. Also the hotel is really close to the Heroes Square which is reachable in more or less 5 minutes on foot and there there is also the Metro station (Line 1). Nearby there are a couple of really good local restaurants (albeit a little more costly than other places) and an exquisite Italian bar/pizzeria run by Italians themselves. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Ibis Hotel and we definitely feel like suggesting it.

Value for money”

the location is great, really close to the hero square, and great choice if you want to go to the famous spa nearby. And it just several stops by metro to the center. Very easy to go around. The staff is friendly, room is simple and clean, good for travelers. I would choose to stay there again if I go back to Budapest next time.

Excellent hotel in Budapest”

We spent two days in this hotel and it was lovely. It is budget but still facilities were of high standard and it's 2 minutes walk from the metro station from where you can go to the main sightseeing places. The staff is friendly and always ready to help you. If you want to take a bath in the famous Turkish baths this is the right location it's next to it.

Standard chain but good sized room”

Was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room, which was ample, though with the space there could have been a bit more seating area. Having seen comments about noise I was dismayed we had a street facing room but found that weekend traffic was not disruptive, tho some noises from other rooms did come thru. Breakfast average but not disappointing, staff helpful, best thing is the location which is very handy for all the area's sights and galleries. A good price.

Exceptional”

A very clean and well-managed hotel providing all the facilities I could want. Excellent.

hotel which near Heroes Square”

The old is quite old which different from other Ibis hotel in Asia. There's no mini bar and also complementary water provide to guest which is not a good idea. The location is close to metro which travel to other location near metro is convenience, but there's no shop around hotel so you need to buy drinks or other from other location. Staff is only normal helpful like other hotels.

Great location, staffs were very helpful! ”

Staffs were very helpful, suggested places to visit and how to get there. Room was clean, basic clean bed/hot shower. Restuarant serves simple food and drink, nice coffee there! Great location, very convenient as it located only 2 mins walk to the metro station, felt safe at night as this road is mainly embassy/consulates.

It was good. In the room no coffe or tea facilities, but when I told them they provide a kettle.rooms are clean.i would return again

Nice Hotel with good staffs”

A Clean nice room and the staffs were nice. It is easy to access to the city centre and it is about 2500HUF to take a taxi to city centre.

Clean but bad traffic noise and breakfast”

We had an okay stay, but the constant traffic noise and the bad, pricey breakfast were almost ruined it for us. Breakfast isn't normally a deal breaker for me, but there aren't many breakfast options in the area so you're pretty much stuck unless you travel downtown.

Overall good”

Some of the younger staff is kinda rude and arrogant. There was a old bar staff was very helpful. Overall facilities and location good.

We liked the hotel, our room was close to a road with much traffic, some noice due to Busstop just outside the Window. To hot rooms no cooling must open the windows buth some noice, Breakfast was ok.
