Near bus station and good onsen”
The hotel is clean and quite. The Japanese breakfast is simple. The water in onsen is very hot, but you can mixed the cold water. The hotel is very near the bus station. The staff at hotel and bus station are willing to help and can speak English a little.

Hotel doesn’t speak English, couldn’t find a WiFi password, didn’t say it was 8 not 0 to call Lobby, Hester switched off during the night 2 hours to get it back on, didn’t explain how to switch of the lights, had to remove keycard 3 times to change the light setting, not obvious. The male owner not particularly friendly. Smoking room right next to the hotel Onsen. I only stayed here because it was Xmas day and all the other hotels were full I wouldn’t go back again.

We stayed during winter for 2 nights at Ikemoto, the room is huge! It's one of the few hotels with an attached bathroom and adequate heating. Most of the rooms in Nozawaonsen have shared bathrooms. The room is large enough for 2-6 persons, futons can be requested for extra persons. The location is strategic, it's beside the Chuo bus station, all the buses stop here to and from Nagasaki for skiing, and Iiyama station (for Shinkansen or Thunderbird). It's also a 3 min walk away from the main town area. We didn't opt for breakfast, but there's a nice shop that serves western breakfast right across the road, and a nearby shop to buy fresh fruits. - We recommend buying the strawberries here, they're the sweetest and cheapest we've had across Japan, it's double the price in Tokyo or Kyoto.
