Great hostel with excellent service!”
I stayed at Imam Bonjol Hostel on 17 - 19 May 2013. This hostel is easy to find and located in strategic place (really near from Lawang Sewu). Also it has indomaret on the ground floor which is great and easier for me to buy things. Room quality is good and quite comfortable. The owner and his two staffs are really friendly. They help me a lot by renting his motorcycle, explaining Semarang, and also booking a taxi for me when I departed on Sunday morning. Sure I'll come back here again next time.

A good stay in Semarang China Town”
I strongly recommend the Imam Bonjol Hostel in Semarang, first of all, the price are really cheap compare to some other place in Semarang. The second good point is the Staff, always ready to help you out and the 3th point is the atmosphere. It's like feeling at home. I definitely recommend this Hostel for travelers like backpackers, and family who want be well located in the city, close from everything and want a good staying!!!

Fun, cozy, comfort, feel like home”
It was great pleasure to stay at Imam Bonjol Hostel. Location wise, it's very strategic, walking distance from some city attractions such as Lawang Sewu, Pandanaran Street, and bus station. The owner guy, is very nice, friendly and helpful. It seems that he worked 24/7 just to make sure all guests are properly served (it's great knowing that this is a budget hostel). The room rate is very reasonable, especially compared to facility that every guest can use/enjoy. The room was spacious, clean and cozy.

Great stay, very very friendly staff”
We had a great stay at imam bonjol hostel. The staff always smiles and is really helpful. Many young local people rent rooms monthly and all of them were reale nice as well. The community area spacious and has comfortable seating options. There is also a chess game which we played. The location is very central and you have a lot of attractions and malls in walking distance.The aircon worked fine, the toilets (western and squat) were clean, the hot water shower was good, the wifi was sometimes very slow but other than that we had no complaints.

The rooms where new and very clean. The owner is a very nice guy and wants to do evreything for you! He's a good help and tells you evreything you need to know! When i'm going back to Semarang, i definitly go back to Imam Bonjol Hostel!

Superb value for your money and service!”
It was really close to the train station . The location is very near the town center making your location great for sight seeing and access to transportation. The rooms are much better than the other homestay or backpackers places I had been. In addition to that having an Indomaret on the ground floor makes it easy to buy stuff. Security is also good, automatic lock system of the doors makes it safe specially for solo travelers. The rooms are quite spacious, clean and ventilated. All rooms are wi-fi accessible. The owner and staff are also very friendly and accommodating. They are always ready to give you a hand for your traveling needs. Overall , I will highly recommend staying in this hostel to any travelers, relatives and friends coming to Semarang.

A cozy, friendly and value for money hostel”
We, a group of nine, stayed for a stop-over night from Karimun Jawa to Jakarta. The location of the hostel is superb, within walking distance to Paragon shopping centre. The service of the hostel is excellent and the staff is also very friendly. Even before we arrived, we had a cake delivered to the hostel for the birthday celebration of one of the friends and the staff there was very helpful to arrange. The owner of the hostel, being a native of Semarang, is a very friendly guy, sharing valuable information in exploring the city. The rooms are clean and comfortable. This hostel is definitely among the best hostels in Indonesia I stayed so far..

Great value hostel”
The hotel is clean, great value for the price. Location is very strategic. Near the Pemuda monument, Lawang Sewu and Pandanaran street where you can buy cullinary by the typical of Semarang to bring home. The friendly staff, easy to buy your personal needs the minimarket just downstair the hostel. And the great one is they provide a lot of tourism guidance brochure for your reference to plan your trip.

Clean, affordable, good location”
The hostel is brand new, opened in Feb 2012 and is still in different stages of work-in-progress. The family room is spacious and clean with communal bathroom. Just within 10 minutes walking distance from Lawang Sewu and Paragon mall. Local cafes and bakery are within 2-5 minutes walk away. Ariyanto, the owner is a very friendly guy who would accomodate your requests. Just ask him anything and he will gladly help. His mother prepared yummy nasi goreng for breakfast with jasmine tea and coffee. I would recommend this hostel for any traveler to Semarang.

I'm very satisfied with this backpacker hotel ”
It's a very good one star hotel For that price, actually you got a very good deal At the first floor there is 24 hours mini market. The hotel is located at the 2nd and 3rd floor. You can get a magnetic card for 24 hours access to the main gate of the hotel, just put some deposit that will fully refundable when you're going to check out. There are 4 shared bathrooms at 2nd floor, I think it's the same with 3rd floor. They provide liquid soap, shampoo and also hot water. Free wifi, drinking water, cable TV and sport facilities at living room. Complimentary bread and tea for breakfast. You can also request for laundry service, instant noodles, order taxi, asking for directions or any other kind of transportation to other cities. Free many maps or tourist guides. The location is very strategic. Paragon mall, Lawang sewu, Pandanaran street, Tugu muda is just 5-15 minutes walking distance. You can also borrow their PC if you didn't bring any gadget to use wifi. They accept credit cards and local debit cards. If you don't agree with me, just remember that this is just one star hotel. So it's actually very good/reasonable deal.

1 star hotel hotel with a 5 star service”
The owner let me change the check in date 1 day prior without any extra charges because I couldn't get any train ticket from Jakarta to Semarang. The owner also kindly enough showing me how to get to the hotel. The hotel is currently under renovation, from outside you can't tell it is a hotel so can be hard to find. There is no name or sign only the street number 177B (next to car wash). The single room is dead cheap ($9AUD/night), the place is clean and everything you need is there (share toilet/bathroom, fast internet speed). As a bonus I was given free simple breakfast for the 2 days I stay there when is not even included in the price. The location isn't too bad either, close to mall, restaurant, banks and public transport. There's buses outside the hotel that goes to the main Bus terminal. Overall I enjoy staying here and definitely come back here..

The location is great, in one of main roads in semarang, public transport is available in short distance, and taxi do across often. Room is quite spacious for an hostel, Price is quite cheap but have plenty free facilities such as iron+board, fridge, hot water. But hot water in the bathroom only turned on at several hours per day. If you need something to buy, there a convinience store underneath. Tip: if you want cheap food stall, there were several food stall behind this hostel.
