Excellent new year stay”
The hotel's lobby, restaurants and room live up to 5-star standard. Room is very spacious and are bigger than most hotels in Barcelona. We checked out the gym which is self-service opens 24 hours, the equipment aren't the newest but are sufficient. We wanted to book the spa while waiting for our check-in, unfortunately it only opens at noon in winter season. All the staff we encountered at reception and in the restaurants are friendly and speak good English. Email communication with reception can be improved as sometimes our questions weren't answered or were answered with a pitch for certain hotel services (though understandable). Concierge seems a bit lean on staff and we didn't manage to speak to anyone and relied on internet instead. We originally booked the hotel wanting to go to placa espanya for count-down due to its vicinity (around 10 mins walk) but ended up staying in the hotel as we were tired from our flight. Went up to the roof instead. The roof features more a plunge pool than an actual poor for swimming and it's not open in winter seasons, but it's nice to have. We could see fireworks from the rooftop (despite a semi-blocked view) which is excellent. The hotel allowed external guests to go to the rooftop on new year eve but could have improved their handling of the lift situation - the "bouncer" only allowed 5 people in the lift each time, although it could easily fit 10-12 people and didn't give priority to hotel guests which was a bit inconvenient for those who simply wanted to go back to their rooms. The hotel is in a great location. It is not far from the Moutjuic and the port/beach, has a few metro stops in 5-10mins walk and has some restaurants nearby. Overall we had a great stay and were really happy that we chose InterContinental for our new year eve.

Amazing stay, comfortable and beautiful rooftop”
Had a wonderful stay at the Intercontinental Barcelona. The room was so comfortable, the breakfast was excellent. Priti at the spa was so helpful and the esthetician who gave me a facial (lovely Italian lady, I forgot her name!), well it was one of the best I’ve ever had. Make sure to do the thermal spa. Fantastic hotel. Oh and the views from the rooftop are epic!

The Crowne Plaza is close to the Magic Fountain, which is so amazing! That is in the courtyard of the Museu Nacional D’Arts de Catalunya, which was also a really impressive museum and only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel is outside of the center of town, so it’s quiet and only a short cab, bus or metro ride away.

The hotel is mostly for busniess purposes; but even for a city trip as a couple we enjoyed to stay here. The room is spacious with a very comfortable bed and quiet to have rest and sleep. The Hotel is not directly in the center, but still near to it with good connections to the center as well as to the airport and the port. One of the highlits is the terrasse with a fantastic view over the Barcelona. The staff is very professional and friendly. Fira Palace Barcelona”
Overall a very good hotel which is reasonably price. Excellent if you have a conference at the nearby Fira Barcelona conference centre which is only a 2 minute walk. A bit out of the main part of town and takes ~ 25 minutes to walk to La Ramblas or 5 minutes to the closest subway station (Espanya)and further 5 minute train ride.

this hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to plaza de españa, gran via avenue and arenas de barcelona. the room was lovely, clean, and fresh smelling. the bathroom was really huge! would have been perfect if we had free unlimited wifi. the complimentary 30mins was simply not enough!

too expensive but good position for sightseeing (catalunya museum , miro museum etc) and traffic (espanya station and metro and train) not give disposable things of bath and water and teapot (to boiling water) , not convenient ..... according to the value for money , we will not stay in this hotel again in barcelona next time....

Overall a very nice stay in a high standard hotel. The hotel is very spacious, but still has a very relaxed athmosphere. Check in goes smoothly, rooms are large and well equiped. The hotel has very large meeting rooms and facilities and is therefore also great for bigger events. The food quality is good and varied offers are available. Breakfast has a great assortment of healthy and less healthy options. The hotel has good fitness equipment including sauna and pool.

Grand Hotel but service not up to standard”
I selected this hotel after seeing the nice photo on the web. Indeed it has spacious room and lot of facilities but the service is not up to 4 star standard. First there is water leakage issue. We will having dinner and saw staffs busy cleaning the breakfast area as there is water leaking from roof. Next day while bathing, the staff called and told us that water from our bathroom leak to the room below. Next the free Wifi password don't work or need to link to phone provider. I asked for help at reception and they just throw a maintenance phone number where nobody pick up. The restaurant manager cannot even understand simple English, we order Earl grey tea (repeat several times because he cannot understand) and they bring us green tea.

Great short stay”
The only problem we had was that we were given a room with twin beds when we had booked a double, and they did not have any available. The beds were big enough that we could still share one, but it was a bit annoying. Staff were nice however - and helpful when needed. The size of the room was great, and it was close enough to most places to walk, but also close to the metro.
